I keep coming back here. This was so amazing. That audience should have been screaming at the top of their longs after that performance. That was right up there at same level as original artist
As someone that has played professionally for 20 years with great success, I would never have attempted this classic song purely because it is so technically difficult. But you guys nailed it - I am in awe!
Matt ahbgieyhbsfwuero Pretty asinine comment. You knew damn well what he meant. In fact, he never said he couldn't play a Radiohead cover (there are many far easier) but rather, he would never attempt "this classic song" because it is so technically difficult- which I think we can all agree on.
Same here. Our own comments are always at the top when you read them, and I made mine 11 years ago. Someone will usually respond to a comment I left a year ago in the, well, comments section, and I'll think, "Oh shit. I need some Mike Masse music therapy." The audience in a lot of his videos, not this one, don't seem to appreciate how great Mike and Jeff are. I would have been obese if I lived near that pizza parlor, and these guys played there on a regular basis.
Like, if i walked into my local Pizza joint to order a Pizza and this happened, i would most probably just drop on the floor in fetal position. There is no way i would be taking a pizza home. I would however stay and drink many beers. My god these two are amazing!!!!!
The most amazing part of this performance is that Paranoid Android is normally played by a 5 piece. Not just a 5 piece, but a 5 piece with several of the 5 musicians playing multiple instruments as the song goes along. It's so impressive how they captured all the primary dynamics of the song with just two musicians using 1 very basic layer of equipment each. Excellent musicianship here.
What cracks me up is the venue. I always imagine the camera reversing, and seeing a bunch of people eating pizza with their chins on the floor. I damn well know if I went out to eat pizza and this happened I'd be sitting there with my chin on the floor.
Hi Mike - I've been a Radiohead fan since seeing them at a small gig before they shot to fame in the 90's, and have had a lifelong obsession with them ever since. They're very dear to my heart and have featured as pretty much the soundtrack to my entire life. I've seen loads of covers of various songs of theirs over the years and no one has ever come close to doing their work justice - until now. Honestly, not only are you a talented musician and vocalist, but your arrangement and execution of this track - one of the greatest songs ever written in the modern rock era - is nothing short of staggering and breath taking. I had Goosebumps pretty much the entire way through and i can't think of a better compliment than this. Amazing.
I have no idea how many times I've watched this video since discovering it! Makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up each and every time. Beautiful
Wow, just WOW!!! This is one of the best, if not THE best, covers of this song I have ever heard! The craziest thing about it is...you're playing in a FUCKN PIZZERIA!!! And the dude on the bass totally killed the vocals in the third section!
I am not a professional musician (or at least not anymore) but I have been playing the guitar for 25 years and went to college studying electric bass. I have played that tune with a friend a couple of years ago and it is extremely difficult to play this song giving it its soul. Not only the voice but the instrument dynamics in the different parts are important. The small transition at 2:49 is the most difficult part to render when only acoustic. The whole song was done masterfully. Jeez, these people at that pizzaria have just no clue how awesome these 2 guys are and the quality of the performance they have just witnessed.
Wow, huge props, guys. And while you're both spot on I have to say, Jeff Hall, your backing vocals during the song's amazingly lush and melancholic bridge is so perfect. Without it the whole performance would have a gaping hole but you both hit this out of the park together.
I struggled between watching the whole video and pausing it to subscribe. I’ve seen a lot of good covers of this, and I think this one was easily the best. Amazing!
Saw your show here in Montreal a couple of weeks ago at "La Tulipe". It was great watching you play "solo" all these great tunes you play on TH-cam. I'm the dude that screamed out "Play Paranoid Android" since you were taking requests. Thank you for playing it. I almost have it down for my next Open Mic. It was great meeting you after the show! Thanks for coming to Mtl !
I give up ever trying to play this song om guitar again. I'll never get it anywhere near this dude. Not much really AMAZES me musically on youtube these days but holy crap. 👍 👍 👍
Mike Masse ... You are AWESOME. Finally, there's someone up here that truly loves this song as much as it should be loved. Passion. Easily one of the best songs ever made. You sing and perform it so well. Keep up the EXCELLENT covers.
Your cover of Toto's Africa is DEAD ON as well, brother. (As well as the rest of your covers). I actually thought about bringing you to Chicago for my block party!!! Let me know when you ever come to Chicago!!!!
Best Radiohead cover that I've ever heard. My favorite song; my favorite band...so I know what I'm talking about..lol. Great job guys from Nova Scotia.
"Paranoid Android" Please could you stop the noise, I'm trying to get some rest From all the unborn chicken voices in my head What's that...? (I may be paranoid, but not an android) What's that...? (I may be paranoid, but no android) What's that...? (I may be paranoid, but no android) Ambition makes you look pretty ugly Kicking and squealing gucci little piggy You don't remember You don't remember Why don't you remember my name? Off with his head, man Off with his head, man Why don't you remember my name? I guess he does.... Rain down, rain down Come on rain down on me From a great height From a great height... height... Dude this really kicks ass. I would have never thought this could be covered this well with just two people. It's time for me to learn this too! I can only imagine the look on people's faces when you busted this one out. #MindsBlown
I love how there’s like 4 people in there😆 You boys done fucked em all up too. I’m willing to bet the number of acts that can produce a proper cover of that tune are outnumbered by several thousand. Truly, I salute you.
One of the most talented American musicians I have ever seen on TH-cam. Needs far more recognition. This is one of the most difficult songs to cover of all time realistically and this lad has nailed it!!
if you were only playing, this one would be already the most awesome cover of this one in youtube, but with that singing....MAN YOU MAKE IT BETTER THAN THE ORIGINAL!!!
I cruise around youtube a bit and listen to covers of favorite songs of mine; even the bad ones I appreciate. This cover is absolutely, ridiculously, far and above the best I've heard of any cover. Wow.
My band 20+ years ago never ventured to play this Radiohead song. Now that I have more time on my hands and you’ve done such an excellent cover, I may venture to learn and convince my new band to play it.
Man, your covers are so awesome.... I'm looking at every single one of them. So much work... so much precision and fidelity to the original... You deserve just as much respect, which means A LOT
wtf??? that was 9998/10000 in terms of perfection. that's perfect. if i'd heard it on a jukebox i'd assume it was a radiohead accoustic version. well done. almost unbelievable.
As soon as he started singing the first phrase (and the high note!), I knew this was going to be incredible. And it was, what a talent I'm inspired. -From another musician
wow mate! Radiohead fan since the beginning and have to say, so impressed with your cover.. Such a complicate song to sing and play. Much respect Geezer!!

Man, you fucking nailed this track!!! Love from the Iraland ;) x
Hey Mike what guitar is urs, that's the tone I been looking for, marshall?
This is more original than the original record of the song
HOLY. FUCKING. SHIT.
Haha right?
I know...
LOL😅
@@TheScoobysteveyes right dude😅
Without exception the greatest cover of this song anywhere in the world
Yup, and if one exists, I haven't heard it yet. Great job, Mike. Side note: the audience wasn't ready.
*Ballpark music entered the chat*
I concur Doctor
I keep coming back here. This was so amazing. That audience should have been screaming at the top of their longs after that performance. That was right up there at same level as original artist
Wouldn't argue with that.. This is an outstanding version.. Dare I say even better than the original.
Our arrangement is based somewhat on an acoustic version I heard him do. So I'm sure there would be "no surprises" for him if he heard it.
Please do more Radiohead. 😀
Humble and oh so talented. Gives me chills wow
Even if he heard it and didn’t like it I’m sure he wouldn’t phone the “Karma police” on you.
Incredible version!!
One could say they also wouldn’t be “let down” or be left “high and dry” perhaps.
I’ll grab my coat and show myself out.
As someone that has played professionally for 20 years with great success, I would never have attempted this classic song purely because it is so technically difficult. But you guys nailed it - I am in awe!
Agreed!
You've played professionally for 20 years and can't play a Radiohead song?
Yes I can, played Creep for years. I was just pointing out how great these guys are.
Matt ahbgieyhbsfwuero Hey might also be referring to the singing method, which is not an easy task indefinitely.
An acoustic cover of the un-coverable and that's all the applause they received?
I'm going to hope that was stunned silence.
nearly 1 mln views is not bad, considering the sad fact that the original videos by Radiohead have reached just about twice as many here...
I love the tepid receptions they received, it just adds to the beauty.
11 years..
I STILL come back on a regular basis and am STILL impressed every time!
Bravo, Sir!
Same here. Our own comments are always at the top when you read them, and I made mine 11 years ago. 5 years coming regularly to be delighted with this cover!!
Dude follows up the best cover of anything ever with just the most casual "thank you" I've ever heard. What the absolute fuck.
Like, if i walked into my local Pizza joint to order a Pizza and this happened, i would most probably just drop on the floor in fetal position. There is no way i would be taking a pizza home. I would however stay and drink many beers. My god these two are amazing!!!!!
+walla134 only radiohead fans would ever drop into a fetal position as a compliment ;-) rock on, dude
hahaha yes, that is exactly what I was thinking.
NO DOUBT!!! I’m in the fetal position in my family room right now after discovering this on TH-cam. I may even order a pizza!!!
such a millennial comment.
amen
The most amazing part of this performance is that Paranoid Android is normally played by a 5 piece. Absolutely!👍
On the 'Paranoid Android' wikipedia page, you're the first listed cover for the song!!
When I was a kid, I always thought the lyrics went "This shirt makes you look pretty ugly"
Awesome cover of an awesome Radiohead song.
Micah Buzan I know this comment is 2 billion years old but same
wait.. thats not the lyrics?
Ambition makes you look pretty ugly.
What? That doesn't even have the same number of syllables.
Thank God I'm not the only one who got the lyrics wrong..! I used to think it was "This shit makes you look pretty ugly.." lol
What cracks me up is the venue. I always imagine the camera reversing, and seeing a bunch of people eating pizza with their chins on the floor. I damn well know if I went out to eat pizza and this happened I'd be sitting there with my chin on the floor.
BEST COVER EVER OF THIS SONG
I find this better than the original. fuck me right? :)
Shroffs yeah fuck you
Whenever I need musical inspiration I come to this guy. Never fails
the quality of the audio is amazing for a youtube video that was released in 2009

Very kind of you, Will. It’s some of my favorite music to sing.
Your performance of the 'Rain Down' section might've been more beautiful than the actual song
I love how Mike and company are super respectful of the original music yet puts just enough of his own personality into every cover.
I have no idea how many times I've watched this video since discovering it!
Makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up each and every time.
Beautiful
¡Gracias! You aré the best
Wow, just WOW!!! This is one of the best, if not THE best, covers of this song I have ever heard! The craziest thing about it is...you're playing in a FUCKN PIZZERIA!!! And the dude on the bass totally killed the vocals in the third section!
I agree ....go Cubs!!...😀😀
Didn't he though? Goddamn!
Amazing
Every so often i come back to this video and it is always here when i need it.
I watch this every month as like, an emotional and mental reset. You're doing life right man. Keep it up. This is really astonishing.
Thanks, Joel. Such a nice comment. I'm so glad my musical contributions have been a resource for you. :)

Your voice is just... amazing!
Very very good singer
There's alot of talent in the world that goes unrecognized my friend..and yours is one.
2024 y sigue en encantandome esta versión... grande Mike, aplausos de pie.
Perhaps the greatest, stripped down, acoustic cover song I have ever heard in my life. The vocals are beyond amazing! Mike ... you da man!
This is an absolutely exceptional work of glorious art.
This is INSANE!! How're you doing this?? It's all there! THERE'S ONLY TWO OF YOU!!!
Astonishing. Wonderful. Lovely stuff.
Um verdadeiro espetáculo
You make this so rich and full, its hard to believe it's acoustic. You blew my mind at 3:10, so good.
this cover is UNBEATABLE
Never knew an acoustic cover of this song could be done till I watched this.
Divine gifted voice dude.
This is so beautiful. I keep coming back to it again and again.
Me too bro...
come again
Still one of the best covers I've ever heard.....absolutely incredible and amazing that it's two guys singing, a bass, and an acoustic guitar!
Almost anyone can play Radiohead decently, but to sing the song so well is an accomplishment.
Blown away. Brought me to tears.
I'm a lifelong Radiohead fan and I must say that was really great, I wasn't expecting such a good performance.
It’s crazy when you discover a video over 13 years old that’s amazing. One of the best acoustic covers of this great Radiohead song
Wow, huge props, guys. And while you're both spot on I have to say, Jeff Hall, your backing vocals during the song's amazingly lush and melancholic bridge is so perfect. Without it the whole performance would have a gaping hole but you both hit this out of the park together.

You guys are great. love to hear you!
Wow, what a voice. Can't believe I haven't found these on TH-cam before.
Fuck me I wasn't expecting those harmonies during the "Rain down" section like I stopped what I was doing
Hands down, you two are the best cover band I have EVER seen, and trust me I have seen A LOT!
Absolutely best cover ever. very clear and strong voice
Saw your show here in Montreal a couple of weeks ago at "La Tulipe". It was great watching you play "solo" all these great tunes you play on TH-cam. Not much really AMAZES me musically on youtube these days but holy crap. 👍 👍 👍
alright, alright, I've been watching covers of this song for an hour now and this is the greatest one ever! woooo!!
This. Is. Unreal. I'm scared to say your voice rivals or surpasses that of Thom yorke....😮❤
I almost cried at the bridge, you guys are great!
Which part is the bridge? lol
Bubble slow end part
Sir, im here 15 years late. Youre great
I'm not a fan of Radiohead, but this is amazing. 100% better than the original. I've been coming back to this for years and it never gets old
I can't describe how beautiful this was!
Still by far the best Radiohead covers in existence. I won’t hear different. 👏
Mike Masse ... You are AWESOME. Finally, there's someone up here that truly loves this song as much as it should be loved. Passion. Easily one of the best songs ever made. You sing and perform it so well. Keep up the EXCELLENT covers.

You're leaving

The panic, the vomit
The panic, the vomit
God loves his children, God loves his children, yeah!
I always nut when i hear the backup vocals in the ”that’s it sir, you’re leaving” part. It is so well put together, and you guys nailed it
Dude this really kicks ass. I would have never thought this could be covered this well with just two people. It's time for me to learn this too! I can only imagine the look on people's faces when you busted this one out. #MindsBlown
This sits right next to Thom. Good job, my vocal chords hurt when I try to hit those notes and you sir are just flawless.
Totally fucking amazing .... One of the best videos on the internet
Wow, I never thought an acoustic version would have done justice to this song until now. Brilliant.
These guys are so fucking good plus they know how to mix their shit!
I love how there’s like 4 people in there😆
You boys done fucked em all up too.
I’m willing to bet the number of acts that can produce a proper cover of that tune are outnumbered by several thousand.
Truly, I salute you.
Man, Mike gotta do some videos explaining his vocal techniques or how he got his voice solid like that. Anyone agree? Or even you Mike !?
My guess: years and years of practise :P
some things are better left alone.
Extreme efficiency of breath and no straining. Just a guess.
Practice.
One of the most talented American musicians I have ever seen on TH-cam. Needs far more recognition. This is one of the most difficult songs to cover of all time realistically and this lad has nailed it!!
What a voice! I had to click the like button in the 30 seconds mark haha
Finally sat down to learn this piece start to finish and saw this. Jesus, that was about as perfect a performance as you can get. Wow
Excellent cover of an excellent song. Seriously, on point.
Magnífic Voice ❤❤❤
if you were only playing, this one would be already the most awesome cover of this one in youtube, but with that singing....MAN YOU MAKE IT BETTER THAN THE ORIGINAL!!!
I stumbled on these guys by accident last weekend somehow and they are the best find I've come across on youtube period.
This was awesome! I was really hoping the guy on bass was going to kick in with "I may be paranoid, but I am no android" though.
That would be awesome..
WOW.. the singer is on FIRE.. incredible JOB!!!!!!!
This is elite.
Perfect.
You Sir have Nailed it!! I am listening to it for the Nth time back to back and I have goosebumps. God speed!
GOOD LORD! incredible, seriously. Wow! so glad I found this
I hope these guys know how much my family is obsessed with this video.
They hit it out of the ballpark.
I'm Still listening to this!! Incredible!
When you're probably the best cover artist of all time.
wow wow wow ,,,,,,AMAZING,.,,,,,BEST COVER ON INTERNET,,,,,CONGRATS
This is even better than his stand up. Awesome fucking cover of such a great song.
Ummmm... my FAVORITE cover of this song... by far! Great effing job guys!
You guys are just unbelievably fucking amazing.
