If you went on holiday as their manager wouldn’t that mean the club can’t resign players or bring in new talent? If so that’s probably why they struggled as they likely had a team worse than what they had at the start of the game
Like someone else said it probably would work better if you just kept their rep the same if they were locked into the club anyway. It would mean they’d still be playing every game and there’s no need to worry about them jumping ship
Yeah I'm certain this is what's happening here. Would explain the terrible defensive records.
To add to this, it’s not just the World Cup/euros, they probably missed a ton of games every season through playing Euro/WC qualifiers, friendlies and nations league games; the rest of the team isn’t exactly going to beat teams two divisions above their level, much less win that league.

I forgot to mention in the video, I set all the responsibilities to the coaching staff, signing players, contracts etc. So I blame them!
@@TomFMyou chose the always play this tactic when possible so was the tactic outside of haaland and mbappe being upfront a bad defensive tactic?
if you're the manager, was it a case that the other players were leaving at the end of their contracts, and no other improved players came in, so it had randomly generated grey players to complete a squad?

Can you just do four elite "spine" players? So a GK, CB, CM and Striker? Then there will be some balance.
This was cool but probably would've been better (and easier) if their reputation had been made to match their teammates rather than set to the lowest possible. Should me they'd actually get decent playing time and the team wouldn't be struggling with no proper manager. You'd probably also need to get them off national team selection too if you want them to bounce around non-league

Managers dont do anything in fm u can remove all managers from man city and man city will still win they are bugged so ur idea doesn’t work
He can make it so the manager he is controlling goes to city then. He choses what club his manager goes to then sims the season hoping he wins it
@@manpond9510 - WORSE! Played a save with only UK leagues loaded. Barcelona, Real Madrid, PSG, etc still bought every player. I used the in game editor to give each of those clubs a reputation of 1, the max NEGATIVE financial balance, and gave 1 to all their facilities. Despite those penalties, somehow those teams kept winning their leagues, winning euros, and signing the best players. It's like FM hard coded certain teams to do well, and no matter how much you try to penalize those teams, those teams will win.
Regarding the point on managers, all you need to do is sim a few seasons, and check the non-playable leagues. Most will have no staff at all - yet these teams sign players and win European competitions.

At least in lollujo's saves, there are only six playable leagues in England (up until the National League North/South).
Ngl I wasn't expecting to see my local team Hucknall Town mentioned in a Football Manager video 5:05 nevermind winning the league ahead of Mbappe & Haaland 🤣

Videos like these remind me of the career of Lucas Lobos, an Argentine player that was very successful and popular in the Mexican MX League, and then decided to retire by playing in his super small hometown team Club Unidos de Olmos of the Liga Amateur Platense, a small amateur league in the city of La Plata in Argentina.
4:29 - first year Haaland had a perfect 10 rating but only POM in 26 games? and Mbappe had 21 POM in 25 games but a slightly lower rating.

Be an awesome video just having 20 for the stats highlighted in the players position but all other stats being 1 or maybe a full squad of players with 20 free kicks, corners, jumping reach and heading
Challange: Take the Current UEFA champions leauge teams and put them in the vanarma national. See who gets back into champions leauge football first and who fails to escape the national leauge

The No defence team
Alternate experiment: the best goalkeeper, the two best central defenders, the two best wing-backs, the two-best central midfielders, the two best wingers, and the two best forwards, each position group in a different team in the 12th tier.
I mean, there are enough divisions for them to get promotion bids without clashing too early.
OMG!!!! How bad is the rest of that Collingham team?? In my current save, I've been playing Penzance - which started in the 10th tier *South West Peninsula League Premier Division West). We won promotion in the 1st season, with trialist walk on Frank Rosenald leading the league in scoring. Rosenwald had a whopping 30 CA as a 24 year old. That 30 CA was the BEST of any player on the Penzance roster - yet we won the league easily.
Still playing that save, and have Penzance up in Championship. Been a long, fun journey.
But damn.... Haarland & Mbappe and only 2 promotions? How did the team do in cup play? You shouldn't need a team full of wonderkids. Heck, at 12th tier, a team full pf players with 40 CA plus Haarland & Mbappe should be enough steamroll to 8th tier in 4 seasons - and hopefully the AI GM signs a few players..

You were still the manager after the first season?
FM doesn't handle lower leagues well at all. I did a similar experiment (started at 10th tier) with a 200/200 spine AND perfect facilities AND a ridiculous front of kit deal (240m per season) and if you holiday, the team doesn't progress very far at all. BUT if you give them a maxed out HoYD, they do much better (I used Christina Kindt). Without the max HoYD, the club sputtered at tier 7. With the HoYD, they were a yo-yo team popping into the Championship for a cup of tea every few years before falling back to League One.

12th Division is Not terrible in Germany - the 13th is when you have drunkards and big Referees...
how do you get such a low division?
Why not trap an entire like 16-20 wonderkids at like...a tier 18-20 club? They'll be playing for 20 years at least so will a wonderkid team get all the way to the Premiership? Or will the poor training facilities mean they never hit their potential?
That's half-decent handball numbers for Haaland.
Next time, try with one keeper, one defender, one midfielder and a striker. And don't stay manager when they start getting playing time.
how can you make a future transfer for after 20 years? in ingame editor our future transfer finishes max 5 years later unfortunately..

Man when you do those sims put leages like this on full sim, when you dont change sim details of league max teams can score are 3 rarerly 4 goals a game.
What would happen to English football if it was 5 up and 5 down in every league, and how would it change the landscape of it ???
So confused why they didnt sign better defenders. Did they have enough money with paying the two extra players? Did you get rid of any players to put Mbappe and Haarland in?

What I am learning from this game. You can have the best strikers but if your defense is poor you will lose many games. The minute you improve the defense your team explodes in doing well.

You should hire the best assistant manager on the game and give him all the transfer abilities so they can improve the squad and lock them in too.

A team of 11 wonderkids would be interesting because a lower level team probably doesn't have the facilities or coaching to let them hit their potential
Yes and no. In my current save with Penzance, which started in Tier 10 -most teams in tier 10 had rosters filled with single digit CA players. Even undeveloped wonderkids are usually in the 70-90 CA range - which is good enough for Vanarama.
So Haarland, Mbappe & 9 wonderkids should easily earn promotion after promotion, win the FA Vase and other minor trophies, and hopefully earn enough revenue to begin investing in facilities.
Additionally, playing regularly, their skills will continue to improve, albeit at a slower pace - but still good enough that it will earn yearly promotions straight up to League 1 (and possibly championship) - where the team will definitely earn enough money to make facility improvements.

Great video as always, with the full wonderkid 11 idea I suggest doing it with Retford United as they already have a decent team for the level so if one of the wonderkids gets injured it won't be as big of a loss than at other teams meaning they might reach a higher level faster and mostly because they're my second club

Video suggestion: create one perfect GK, one perfect defender, one perfect midfielder and one perfect striker, put them in different teams in the national league and see wich team performs better (this idea came after a save were i was really having a hard time to survive in the Premier League, until i got Diogo Costa for free and my team went from 15th place to 6th, then 2nd and in the third year i won the league, guess GK are op)
Thats a funny vid, but a team of wonderkids does work but you may stay in various divsions for a few seasons. I did this save in my fm22 which I found enjoyable but come the premiership it was a struggle
