The "dumb coin" in Snowman's Land is actually just an invisible coin thats just sitting there. What speedrunners that run the "All coins" category do is a sideflip and wallkick to get it. It isn't very easy at first, but once you learn the spot it is more consistant

I remember when I was younger I was playing Mario 64 DS. I tried to get ever coin in Lethal Lava Land. After I got every coin in the overworld and inside the volcano, I ended up at 206.
Watching this is Making me wanna play 64 ds not for this challenge but just to play it again it's quite amazing what the characters can do with their movement if you have the skill

Collecting coins from any star start should have counted because it can be saved after collecting a star. You know that in castle, pressing start will show not only what stars you collected, but also the amount of coins?

On certain levels, the kicks from A being held is all you need to complete it. If so, you can press A before you enter the level, and then ride off of A being held in the actual level itself.
