A Family Trip To China - Part One: Shanghai

- Here is part one of my trip to China with my family. In this video, we explore the city of Shanghai and get into all sorts of classic scrapes. China is an incredible country that everybody should visit! The people, the places, and the food are all lovely. It is very safe and clean. By watching this video, you will get a chance to see the beauty of China, and you will also get a glimpse of China's excellent public transit system (because China's government actually provides useful things for its citizens, instead of having a billionaire block all progress towards high speed rail so that he can sell more of his electric cars, promising that he'll dig a tunnel underground that his cars can drive through and then never delivering anything on it and eventually canceling the whole project, because the whole project was just a scam to prevent US citizens from ever getting good public transit so that the car companies can continue to have basically a monopoly over our everyday travel). Anyways, China is better than the US.

China is honestly so far beyond the US, it's insane. China's healthcare is amazing, their public transit is the best, their high speed rail is beyond comprehension, their architecture is beautiful, they have delicious food everywhere you go (unlike the US, where we have the same five fast food restaurants on every street corner), and maybe most important of all, it's incredibly safe. I love it so much. I can't wait to go back again.

That garden...wow, beautiful!
Literally everywhere I looked in that garden was beautiful. It was almost too much to take in
Most Chinese garden are built on a small land in busy urban area, so they use many ways to make small place feel bigger, like using zigzag bridges so it make the other side feel further than it actually is, divided spaces with leak windows to suggest more space beyond... one of the feature of China garden is "One step One view ", meaning the view will change with each moving step. Unlike classical western garden where open space that people can see everything at one spot, Chinese garden is for exploring stroll. Enjoy.

Welcome to traveling in China. Let’s put aside the issues of “freedom, democracy, votes, and elections” that the Western world has criticized China for. The advantages of China over the United States are: 1. Absolute drug control. I found that the welfare system in the United States is actually very good. You can receive all kinds of free food. Normal people don't have to worry about starving to death. I watched Frank Gallagher's family in the TV series Shameless and they were able to receive food through various food stamps. But there are still many homeless people on the streets. It is most likely that they are mentally disturbed due to drugs and cannot return to normal life. There are no homeless people in China, and the government operates normally, so the streets are very clean. 2. Social security issues. China strictly controls guns. Private individuals cannot obtain guns. Even the use of guns by the police is strictly controlled. In addition, Chinese people naturally like to rely on their own efforts to gain social status and wealth, and strictly control their own behavior (American police will relax their vigilance when they see Asian faces), so there is no need to worry about any personal safety issues in China, even at 3 a.m. , a woman can walk safely on the street alone without fear of being robbed or raped.

I believe China has an immense amount of advantages over the US. I wish the United States had healthcare like China. I wish the US had high speed rail and more public transit like China. I wish the US had gun control, especially for police, like China.
The drug issue in the US is a difficult one. I believe it is connected with the poverty issue in the US. Many of our citizens are trapped in an inescapable cycle of poverty. For them, selling drugs can serve as a way out of poverty, or taking drugs can serve as a coping mechanism for living in a nation that has abandoned them. I think the US should stop criminalizing its citizens for taking drugs and should start treating drug addiction as a health issue. If we did this, we could help our people recover from addiction and also greatly reduce the amount of people in our prisons. The US also needs to do more work to lift its people out of poverty. We are allowing our children to grow up in poverty with poor access to education and healthy food, which is terrible. I agree with you about homelessness too. I think that the US must start housing our homeless population and help them get back on their feet.
As for our electoral system, I completely understand why folks would be envious of that. As a citizen of the US, I believe that our elections are not as democratic as they seem. Our politicians are owned by the corporations, and don't serve the interests of the working class. Both political parties support what Israel is doing to the Palestinians, so no matter who we vote for, we won't be able to change anything. When the elections are controlled by billionaires and corporations and the needs of the working class are not recognized. It's hard to believe that we live in a democracy. Our next election will be between two of the most disliked candidates in the whole country. I think if the working class truly had control, it wouldn't be this way.

而竞争对手，往往会各种龌龊的手段尽出，各揭其短，丑态百出，而到最后，选民只能在这些烂人当中选择一位并不出色的完成这个程序或游戏。
每个人都往往自诩自己聪明，想参与国家的治理，最不济也要找个代理人，保障自己的利益。但这些只是美好的幻想。
选举不是保障多数人利益的民主手段。以台湾选举为例：1900多万的选民，百分之七十的投票率，最后百分之四十的得票率，如果算是全部选民的话，得票率只有百分之二十八左右。请问，这是民主的少数服从多数？可以说，正常的情况下，选举的投票率是百分之七十，一个政党至少要得到百分之七十以上的得票率才能符合少数服从多数这一标准。
最后，选举需要耗费大量的金钱，所以各政党需要大量的金主。天下没有免费的午餐，一旦新政府成立，肯定要制定符合金主的政策，领导人更不能对金主进行约束。至于普通百姓的利益，因为是资本家和政客的人矿，在选举中无足轻重，所以往往被忽视。政府的成立，往往变成一种分脏政治，把守各部门的，很大可能并不是因为各自的专业能力，而是因为利益分配。
至于自由，是建立在社会规范和伦理之上的，是有限度的自由。不能侮辱，不能诽谤，不能造谣生事，更不能影响社会稳定和国家安全。就事论事的言论自由，理情探讨的自由，正常生活的自由，中国从来没有禁止。当然，很多对大陆自由不满的原因，往往是因为和政府间对同一事物的出发点不同。中国是强调集体和社会利益的原则，因此，政府是从社会的角度来看自由，个人是从个人的角度来看自由，所以有时，个人会觉得憋屈，觉得不自由，可以理解。
中国不完美，但中国文化传承几千年，肯定是有内在的生命力的。这个生命力就是在于社会利益优先的文化认同。
