It was filmed on 35mm film, which if kept in good condition and with the help of restoration, the resolution can exceed 16k. Beyond what digital can capture. We don't even have computers that have 16k resolution screens!
@MJJ Community We can only scan up to 4-6k with our current technology. Film resolution is beyond that, so much so that even a 4k scan doesn't show all the detail of 35mm film.
@MJJ Community as you said, it was scanned in 11k, and output into 8k files. Because that's the best we can currently do as far as TVs and monitors go. There isn't a 12k monitor on the market, best you can get is 8k UHD. Film isn't Pixels, which is why it can hold such detail and resolution. It's more organic. I was at this concert in Montreal in ‘81 ... brilliant. Freddie was in fantastic voice that night. Also saw them in Ottawa in ‘78 with Graham Parker and Cheap Trick, my first concert (I was 16). Absolutely brilliant both times. Memorable shows.
Never knew they went to my favourite city, Ottawa.
부럽다😭
i would kill to have been there
atleast 10 people
:) wonderful experience
I hope you know , youre sooo lucky to have seen This incredible artist in a perfom! (Sorry for my Bad english)
John Deacon really hit a home run with this riff
Сильный голос .такого сейчас не найти .Я тащусь.
Freddie Mercury:sing it
Audience:
Roger Taylor: Another one bites the dust
:v
The audience was lowered in the final mix!
If u listen to the audience recordings (bootlegs i think) you can hear the audience.
But do not excpect a "very excited" audience anyway!
Hi Roger
TheArmexYT Pro same tho

I READ THIS WHEN HE SAID IT LMAO
my kid asked me the other day why Queen liked chicken so much? I said... ummmm, what?! Chicken? He goes yeah, this song and the "gimme gimme gimme fried chicken" song! Probably my proudest parent moment ever (so far)!

In my opinion this is his (their) best live performance and maybe the best live performance in rock history.
This ones great because there's a certain intensity but you just can't compare it to something like Live Aid or Wembley.
Atother one bites the dust at
Wembley is extreme. It has a major audience interacting part as well
I agree, Queen's quality is Montreal 81' is just pure perfection. They nailed every single song
@@alanledesma4945 Bruh, this song is overdubbed.

I don't know why nobody said anything about the amazing perfect backing vocals of Roger
I did.
I always do that, lol. I still say we should give more recognition to John Deacon for what he brought to Queen, especially this song. He's talented af but the most underrated member of the band. That said, I'll never stop loving Roger for his unique voice and skills!
I'm also surprised...
You did.
Roger is an amazing singer, and the best backing vocals in a band
Roger's voice saying ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST sounds amazing!!!
The voice is out of AC/DC
Incrível mesmo, eu pensei que fosse a de Freddie Mercury
yeah!!
@@maltezzerss And then the angelic high notes he used to have, that I think came from the years when his mother made him sing as a choir boy! He had a neighborhood band younger than any rock star I've yet heard of--7 years old--but it was a ukelele band, I think--The Bubbling Over Boys! Roger's mother got Queen their first gig. They had to use Roger's name at the top, at first, because he was the only well known one in the area because of all those teenage years playing drums And singing And being the good looking draw for the teenage girls--imagine never having an awkward teenage life, but only one spent as the cutest guy in the neighborhood rock band, and then on to Smile, then Queen/his solo band The Cross (with unknowns.) Brian said on the video, "Roger, I always thought you should have gotten other famous musicians for that band." Roger said, "Now, you tell me that."
His and Freddie's voices line up perfectly on "Hey, we're gonna get you too".
Perfect voice, perfect tuning, perfect timing, perfect tempo, perfect coordination. The greatest band of all times, eons, multiverses...
Love this video, Freddie walking around in just shorts, no shoes just living His best life !!!!!!
Freddie: the best singer
Roger: the best drummer
Brian: the best guitarist
John: the best bassist
Роджер Тейлор и как вокалист хорош.
Брайан Мэй, кстати тоже.
Ole rusia
No offense to Queen. It’s the best, but Neil Peart from Rush is a better drummer
I think another very good drummer is the drummer of Led Zeppelin
Queen:best band
Freddie and Roger’s voices were perfectly in sync on “Hey, we’re gonna get you too.” Amazing.

Wearing that on stage and his bandmates dont mind. No drama, just rockband brotherhood.
I know right. I personally can't stand when my friends who are Montreal Canadiens fans wear their hats in public.
@@achyan. Well Freddie wouldn't like you either, neither would Queen. Or actually, perhaps they would. Because they were and are still loving, open minded and accepting people, unlike you.
You don't deserve to appreciate the music if you can't accept other people for who they are. Freddie was incredibly talented, and for you to dislike him just because of his sexuality is just tragic.
@@achyan. What does his sexuality have to do with his talents and amazing performances? Why does it bother you so much? What's it to you, anyway?

I honestly just don’t think any other bands come close to the level of brilliance that Queen has
Nightwish i think with the actual singer Floor Jansen are not far from Queen . That was big epic and grandiose and the charism of Floor are indredible. go watch that for exemple. th-cam.com/video/JYjIlHWBAVo/w-d-xo.html
@@huguesdery9563 I love synthesizers, but I find their heavy use of symphonic backing tracks *really* annoying. At least it really prevents me from hearing how well the live instruments complement each other - something that makes it very easy to hear why bands like Queen and Led Zeppelin are considered as such extraordinary live bands.
It is a fine performance, but it's just a medley of songs. Queen's live performance shines, because they created these 'impromptu' live versions, so the songs are elegantly wowen together. Just listen to Dragon Attack / Now I'm Here from the same concert.
Sorry but a band like Nightwish surpassed Queen in all perspective
@@eurositi Nightwish are alot more heavier than Queen or Led Zeppelin .Nightwish are a Symphonic metal band and the composition level for their songs compare to Queen for example are not at the same level. Tuomas Holopainene the compositor and synthetizer guy compose all their songs and is nickname was the litle mozart . The blend of symphonic music and metal and the pure talent of their musicians and singer make Nightwish so special . You know a man really owns the stage when he can strip down to booty shorts with no shoes on and everyone is begging for more. He always seemed so self-assured, confident and comfortable in his skin. Love ya Freddie!!! Wish I could have met you!!
SaturnPhase Fun Fact: Freddie was shy outside the stage
I know. He's mentioned this several times in interviews, which is one of the reasons why I find his performances so dynamic.
This gangsta rap is too much man... so in your face, aggressive, and macho.. red bandana and all too, damn Freddie OG!!
SaturnPhase today he would be called a crazy crack head
Possibly, but different times, different perceptions. I'm sure modern day artists do things he would probably think is ridiculous, too. LOL
Only freddie can wear that to a concert and still be taken seriously
stuhaugcs Axl Rose can too haha
I think he didn't even want to be taken seriously

Angus Young can wear a schoolboy uniform

In defense of some of the more timid appearing concert goers in the front row, I imagine there was a legitimate concern that there could be wardrobe malfunction, and they paid to see Queen, not the Doors.
How lucky to see a gay guy sing.

Ohmygod how is this such good quality!?
Also I love Deacy's moves
It was filmed on 35mm film, which if kept in good condition and with the help of restoration, the resolution can exceed 16k.
Beyond what digital can capture. We don't even have computers that have 16k resolution screens!
@@lessalazar9068 Maybe in future... oh god hope we'll see Queen like we'll be on a concert :D
@MJJ Community We can only scan up to 4-6k with our current technology.
Film resolution is beyond that, so much so that even a 4k scan doesn't show all the detail of 35mm film.
This is from the Live in Montreal concert, which was filmed for release. 1981, I was 12.
@MJJ Community
as you said, it was scanned in 11k, and output into 8k files. Because that's the best we can currently do as far as TVs and monitors go.
There isn't a 12k monitor on the market, best you can get is 8k UHD.
Film isn't Pixels, which is why it can hold such detail and resolution. It's more organic.
But you are right, I was wrong whem referring to what we can scan.
