Get lost in the paradox. Getting lost will keep you humble. It will keep you grounded. It will keep you in a constant state of astonishment, where you’re better able to appreciate beauty, to honor paradox, to be open to new experiences, to be flexible and adaptable rather than closed off and dogmatic, to be humorous and vulnerable rather than serious and invulnerable.
As Tony Schwartz said, “Let go of certainty. The opposite isn’t uncertainty. It’s openness, curiosity and a willingness to embrace paradox, rather than choose up sides.”

This is amazing. You can talk about the most difficult, stressful topics, random things, quirky things, and I will always find a new way to be facinated with life even if I was just really down or in a funk or something. Nature and Human nature truly is facinating. The fact that we can comprehend, conduct hypothetical thought processes 💭 is amazing because we can observe nature a glean deeper meaning and behavior mechanics within Nature and utilize those things as if we found like "some sort of video game cheat code to the Universe" it's awesome. This is why, my best therapeutic medicine is hiking with my 2 dogs in the dense woods here in NW Oregon and I get lost in worlds of moss, lichen, fungi, bugs, tree stumps, ferns, old growth oak trees, trees everywhere. I love getting lost in the microclimate of a ecosystem and observing it over time has unintentionally taught me things about life and the world that we live in. Seeing how nature operates and goes through it's 4 seasons each year made me think deeper about how humans naturally have ups and downs that flow organically in life and I thought 💭 it's unnatural for life to be in a constant state of spring time, so it's unnatural to ever consider that us humans could or should be happy and uplifting all of the time (we've all been there where we have unrealistic expectations for ourselves) so I realized that it's natural to have ups and downs and growth and set backs and happy or depressed moments. In nature it's not what things can escape winter, it's what things best can roll with nature and shake it off and bounce back like nothing happened or they gained something from that year that are most successful. So humans shouldn't ever feel like depression is a bad thing that we should not admit to, in reality we should healthily embrace it for a moment and find your own personal ways to gain power of your perspective on the subject so you can experience it but then let it roll off of you like water proof material let's water hit it but the water droplets just roll off it like nothing instead of soaking it, it just effects it lightly and the clothes bounce back just fine, almost creating a mental force feild super power that lets you feel any emotion organically, naturally, but with perspective, you don't get consumed by it or guilt or shame, you realize it's a natural part and function of nature and so you spend less time on any part other than once you're done feeling down you can covert that into energy and motivation for creativity and growth and that's what helps us gain true strength. That's what I've subconsciously been learning from observing nature and how it behaves year after year, (I'm going to rhyme) That with more time it seems like you gain more trust in Nature and the less you Fear. It gives you this sense of Peace ✌️ that no matter how harsh it may seem at times, that there is always a way that it's being utilized in some way and yes it's tough to see sometimes because it depends on how you look at it, but one things for sure is that we know Nature is not wasteful. It is very good at utilizing things. So that gives me peace in the fact that sadly we all pass, all living things pass on, but then I remember that nature wouldn't have a part of it's systems that are such a common underlining function in it's systems for no reason? So it gives me a little peace of mind that even if my mind can never comprehend what comes at the end of time... Im blind but I've observed Nature so many times utilize and use and recycle energy time after time that it calms my mind that our passing isn't a waste of time, it's a necessary function. If it wasn't nature would have found a different junction to conserve energy and currently in our current perspective it's just hard to see that right now, right where we are, is exactly where we ought to be. But this is just my current personal philosophy.

Around 5 years ago now, I was working at a backpackers hostel as a receptionist. The hostel reception was pretty close to the lounge area and it was full of guests all relaxing and chatting to one another on a Saturday night. I didn't have much to do, so I was just sat at my desk browsing the web. I came across the birthday paradox and immediately went straight into the lounge area to test it out just for fun. I counted everybody in the room and there were around 20 people. So, I start with the first guy on my right and he tells me his birthday - January 20. I shit you not, that's my birthday. I was speechless for a second. The entire room believed I was joking, I believed he was joking and somehow knew my birthday, he went and got his passport and I showed him my ID and everybody was genuinely freaked out and in shock. There are probably lots of people who won't even believe this story but I promise you it happened and I will never forget that moment and neither will he. We stayed in contact since then.

A thought crossed my mind the other day 🤔💭
I was having a particularly bad day and had just received prayer. Spur of the moment I decided to stop at a Truck stop, right after I parked I saw my ex who I Hadn't seen since 2020 and swore I would never see him again, (messy breakup💔) walking across the parking lot 😲Mind you this is a different state than where we lived.
Perfect timing? He was getting a tire fixed, I was getting food. So many things that had to line up just perfectly for us to be in another state at the same spot at exactly the same time. I wasn't even supposed to be going that direction but my manager switched my route. But this all made me think not just my ex but everyone. Have you ever thought about how many things had to synchronize and align for any of us to be in the same place. When you're sitting in traffic and look around, everyone around you somehow had a schedule which put them in the exact space and time with you. If their schedule or your schedule had been altered by say... An hour you would be in different places but it the timing was perfect. Even if you had stopped for 15 to get a coffee, a bite to eat, use the restroom etc. You wouldn't be with those ppl on that highway. But even the ppl in the coffee stop with you they had to make the exact choices to end up there at the same time with you. And Bc of the 🦋 effect everything you do affects the timeline. The person behind you in line could have avoided meeting a new friend by 5 minutes bc of waiting in line I digress. But this is why I believe that everyone we encounter on a day to day basis it is for a reason, even if you never meet or speak. Maybe it was just an exchange of energy who can ever say?

the thing about 2:23 is that, when your friend says it, the information comes from an external source and you can either choose to believe or not, and you won't find the truth unless you go and see for yourself. if on the other hand you say "it is raining, but i don't believe it is" then you must have already confirmed the information, and thus you're denying facts. that's why you would "seem crazy". if you doubt your friend it's more accepted because from your point of view you are still ignorant of the facts 100% (those who have a perspective from the outside would still believe you are a little bit off but it's ok because, again, you haven't faced the facts). it's all about trust. for example, we trust scientists with the results from their experiments, but the majority of people have not done the experiment to see the results for themselves. if someone conducts an experiment and chooses to deny or not to believe in the results, then of course they would be deemed as crazy.

Every decision, action, word feeling that one expresses and says will have it's pros and cons but what is life if not for the bad and the good that one gets handed everyday. Paradoxes are most often occur when we have an incomplete or mistaken understanding of things.

I loved your video and Always liked these things. Im an introvert who likes these kind of things. Im like brain dead when it comes to study , and I cant even focus on study Im 20 and have no job etc. But when It comes to such topic , even maths is fun. I love maths and science the most and yet I told I cant study. Its not false , I get zeros a lot
I cant be in college , I always rush and run away quickly. Thinking these kind of stuff about life or paradoxes is the only thing that inspires me to read.
I use to dislike school in my days , because I wanted to learn somehting in my life
not study for exams. Teachers taught us like were here for exams not for life
Not many teachers I loved , because they didnt liked me going too deep on subjects.
I used to be the weird person , always reading a book , out of touch from present and always writing and overthinking. Nowdays my interest in study has gone because it feels odd when you study by force. When you dont go to school , you feel like you wanna study but this time you really like it.
I dont know why I said this all , but when I watched your videos , I realized that I didnt disliked learning , I simply loved learning but in a different way. I loved that maths you did and the theory. Things like these are fun. I even like to learn history and stuff. But when its taught in college or university I just dont get along. I always skip my social studies classes in university , but I also read social studies in my home. Why is it that I cant hear lecture , but want to study by myself. haha . My life may be a failure , but seeing vids like these give me motivation. These theories and analysis seem like crazy , but I like it because its like that.
Im not sure what Im saying is relavant to the video or not. But as you said, we tell a lot to strangers than our own know people. I dont have friends in real life , and family is also out of touch with me , so maybe leaving these thoughts is great. Someone may find it intresting to read. I wont believe that there is no other person who also feels the same way to study. They cant read and fail but they like learning , just differently. Not a Exam lover or grades lover. But life is harsh if you skip degrees.

with the birthday paradox part, in that particular scenario, it's the chance someone else has a birthday on that very day, not just that 2 people have the same birthday

The problem in the starbucks example of the birthday paradox is that we have already selected one specific birthday, and we're asking if anyone else in the room has THAT birthday, not if two OTHER people in the room have the same birthdays

"The only truth you can prove with certainty, is that nothing is certain."
"Does that mean this claim is uncertain?"
    "All truth is relative."
"Is that then a relative truth?"
Same idea pretty much. Seems self-defeating.

preferably a coffee shop cuz he said he went to a coffee shop : sigh another boring day we're just doing the same thing since we've been born ... (a notification pops up preferably yt noty) oh cool my fav channel posted another vid it has to be a good day
this guy after experiencing that: wait up what if i didn't come here today if i wasn't here it wouldn't be repetitive and i wouldn't have thought of that thus making my day no so boring infact good.. because of that video wait what if i wasn't born in the first place (and the thought goes on and on forever and ever ♾️)

about the birthday paradox the important thing is that its any two people, the way you started it with saying one of them also has it today makes the odds a lot more slim, but you also said the chances that two randome people have it on the same day so then its correct

6:19 So I am in a class of about 25 people. According to the birthday paradox, only 2 people should have a chance of having their birthday on the same day, right? Well, I share a birthday with 2 other people in that class, 3 other person share another birthday, and there is around 3 (could be more. idk everyone’s birthday) pairs of people with the same birthday. All in a singular class of 25 students. What’s the probability of that??

    • @nekekaminger
      @nekekaminger 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

No, you got it the wrong way round. The chance that NO ONE shares a birthday drops below 50% for 23 or more people, that means there is a 50% chance that AT LEAST two people share a birthday. The chance that EXACTLY two people share a birthday is much lower.
