that's a huge misconception. i get more threat postures out of my pamphobeteus specimens than my pterinochilus. it's all in how you keep the animals. you can't stuff an OBT into a little shoebox with no hide or waterdish and then be surprised when it gets pissed off when you disturb it.
@@ytcensorship1401 Yep, definitely agree, Exotic Lair had some REALLY 'aggressive' girls but when he got them into nice big enclosures with a LOT of hiding space, they calmed down. "Ms Thailand Black" is one of his chillest girls now, it seems like, and she used to strike at absolutely nothing! They're all mostly defensive.
@@ytcensorship1401 yep, I think the difference is when they think the enclosure is its home/burrow and an enclosure where they have their home/burrow inside. If the enclosure is too small and basic they treat the whole thing as their home and they think a predator has come and ripped the roof off when you open it but when its large enough for them to have their own burrow/hide inside the enclosure then they are much more chill as when you open the enclosure they still feel safe inside.
You pronounce genes like the trousers 'Jeans' or that's how we pronounce it in scotland. 😂 Your english is incredible too 👌 love your videos, have watched for over 6 years now. I was hear at the beginning and still going strong 👌😁
Those delicate green coloured/tinted tarantula's are plum gorgeous... Mark, that English fellow, had a gorgeous brighter coloured one, which from memory was Caribbean... To date, it is the second loveliest species that I have seen on these fine channels.
Max size on the Harpactira marksi is listed at around 12-13cm, they say they can reach 10cm by about two years. So yours isn't that old seemingly. She's feisty so I'm sure she'll stick around a while!
Classic OWs, gotta love them. My p.murinus RCF is also grumpy. I must confess I rather get a threat posture than light speed hectic movements. As for NWs...easy, slow, good...then I have met my p.irminia and she changed my perspective
As much as I love when your non-T animals are featured (where’s Despacito been?) its been awhile since the spotlight’s been on any new T additions that are mostly grown. You are completely in your element when you are handling T’s and the enthusiasm just leaps off the screen :)
I got my first harpactira pulchripes sling a few days ago. Shes really tiny and after I put her in hers new home I tried to tong feed her, but she didn't want to eat. I kept trying and she then walked 1-2 cm back and showed me her threat posture. It was the cutest thing I saw in a while haha
Thank you for the macro shots. I really appreciate them. I feel like it helps show people that tarantulas aren't just these "big ugly multi-legged creatures" that deserve to be "set on fire with hairspray & a lighter". These are animals/pets that mean something to those who do keep them as pets. The macro shots help me appreciate their true beauty and help see them more detailed. Personally, I really like seeing their eyes up close in the macro shots. They look neat to me. And I like seeing how different the cluster of eyes are on each T. (I know, I'm a weirdo LOL) Great video as always!! Take care and stay safe!!
wow amazing dark den love those two spider and big fangs for sure.. are you ever going to get another jumping spider would be cool too thanks so very much..
Harpactira spp. and African Ts in general are my favourite genera, keep them coming please! 🤩 I also got a H. marksi a couple of days ago, but mine was far less defensive. 😅
Having all the same type and size of enclosures the word you were looking for is uniform. It bothered me i couldn't remember it until i looked it up. lol
Dude right after seeing this video, I saw that Exotic Lairs got some new tarantulas, I'm wondering if that's a coincidence or not. But either way, I'm enjoying the content that you and the other channel put out because I learn a lot about tarantulas even tho I would never keep them myself.
Hey Petko, im a huge fan from Brazil, i really watch every single video of your channel, its pretty good! I had something close to Aracnophobia and your channel helped me get over it, so thank you! I have a question, its possible to make a communal enclosure with more than one species of tarantulas? Thx
As soon as my transit is getting big enough I pick them all up to show them I will not hurt them and I talk slow and then I whisper to them. But they are new world Tarantulas.
@porn theater mop bucket In Europe price for them are dropping every month. 6 monts ago slings of H. pulchripes and namaquensis were 30€(35$), and now they are around 15€, while other harpactiras that haben't been breeded as much are over 30€. H. Caferiana is a must get, but it's 90€😪
1. Put spider in enclosure 2. Put water dish in enclosure 3. Feed spider whenever you want That's literally it. I'd assume a collection this large, he probably spends maybe 2 or 3 hours a WEEK, just feeding, and basic maintenance.
I know H pulchripes always gets in the spotlight but there are other Harpactira species that are beautiful like H cafreriana and H namaquensis, the last segment you wanted to talk about is called a femur.
Turns out the "boring" tarantula put on one of the best shows we've seen in a while.
Tarantula: "GO AWAY I WILL KILL YOU"
Petko: "Oh we got a nice threat posture"
LOVED the macro shots of the fangs on the first spider. Never seen so close on a Tarantula that you can see the texture of the fangs. AMAZING shots!!!
It's like Old Worlds are pissed off all day, every day
New worlds are much better for beginners to keep. All they do is flick hairs that goggles or long gloves can prevent
It is not "like"...it is the fact :D

“Pulchripes” means pretty/beautiful foot/leg, and she really earns it.

Those are amazing macro lens shots! I love how much detail you can see!
They're definitely nice for the collection. Also....That close up on the fangs, that was awesome.
Fangs up close look so insane! the layers that build up omg
P: explaining stuff*
Tarantula: f you, dont u ever touch me again, f you straw!
Both Ts macro lens shots were stunning! Had to pause for a few seconds to appreciate every little detail
YOUR videos are very SATISFYING for my TARANTULA loving SOUL 🕷🖤
Those macro shots were amazing! I was so suprised by the texture of the fangs. Kinda looked like wood a bit.
Itch-Hairy-Love from Germany
I’m half Kenyan: can relate to the attitude 😍
they're so cute when they're angry....but only the video.
in person I would cry no cap.
My daughter and I love watching your channel. She has enjoyed your videos her whole life! Thanks for always posting awesome content!
This channel is awesome, looking forward to the future of the Dark Den Petko 👍🏻 since we got a sneak peak of it. Grts from the netherlands 🕷🕸🦂🦎
Beautiful tarantulas. Going to see if Tarantula Canada has these for sale... Especially the second one. Nice. 👍👍👍
10:30 from my perspective I'd say she's more yellow or gold like but that's just what I see.
Absolutely stunning video, great content!
Very jealous of your H. Pulchripes! Gorgeous!

Absolutely stunning shots at 6:00 love the close ups!
i could spot the green coloration fairly easily on the video. 5:26 is perfect example where the green shines thru
holy crap that shrt is amazing
"How close can I get.."
My nightmares tonight....

Always a great time you are my educational videos before bed thank you 😊 been watching since your apartment
Dark Den: I need two hands.
Exotic Lair: WEAK!!!
Hell yeah,
Just got a 1cm sling of this species, the H Pulchripes one. Mega excited. 😁

Easily the best close up of the fangs and mouth I've ever seen on a spider.
They are both so beautiful, and some amazing close up video. I loved it.
Beautiful coloring.
Congrats on ur new ts
H.pulchripes is one of my favourites. I have one and it is just a delight to keep.
wow amazing dark den love those two spider and big fangs for sure.. are you ever going to get another jumping spider would be cool too thanks so very much..
Not cool, hurting the Harpactira marksi's feelings like that ... 😥
thankfully they don't have ears xD
@@TheDarkDen thankfully 😅
@@TheDarkDen if they did how much more deadly* would they be?
your the reason why i've been into tarantula keeping....thanks for inspiring and informational vid...☺️
Love the video and Love the shirt!
Im at 8:11 and i know its also a Harpactira but Harpactira pulchripes! I have 2 of those as slings.
Very GORGEOUS indeed
Good stuff boss! I was hoping for a feeding!
Harpactira spp. and African Ts in general are my favourite genera, keep them coming please! 🤩 I also got a H. marksi a couple of days ago, but mine was far less defensive. 😅
Are you gonna get another jumping spider?
Rip kiwi 🙏😔
They were always my fav videos
yes, but need warmer weather to be able to order it :)
@@TheDarkDen looking forward to seeing new videos love your channel and how well you care for your animals
@@TheDarkDen Kat is gonna have tons soon - i smell a collab! Long overdue IMHO
♥️♥️ love from south africa ♥️♥️
I love their little paws ❤️🕷
Love your shirt!
Nice one Petco! 👍 best fang action!
Harpatica pulchripes is an amazing sp.. nice vid as always !!!
I rehoused my Harpactira pulchripes sling yesterday... super bolty
I've been on the fence about getting a tarantula for ages, but hearing the phrase ✨ball of feet✨ made my mind up
Having all the same type and size of enclosures the word you were looking for is uniform. It bothered me i couldn't remember it until i looked it up. lol
Or you could also say “homogeneous “!
I forget the word nuance every time I need to use it, which is surprisingly a lot as I love the word. It's so damn frustrating.
You make me so laughing offen in your Videos, thanks for that💟
*"And it's a great day to be alive*
*I know the sun's still shining when I close my eyes"*
Both amazing ts 🔥🔥🔥
None of these are boring in my opinion! Love em all! 🖤🕷👍

Love your shirt sir! Falling in Reverse! Cool! :)
As soon as my transit is getting big enough I pick them all up to show them I will not hurt them and I talk slow and then I whisper to them. But they are new world Tarantulas.
i was under the impression that H. pulchripes was a heavy burrowing species.
they burrow as slings but typically grow out of that
Mine has a super cool burrow but she never is in it. Webbed up the top like crazy just like the two in this video and always on display
i guess in the wild they would burrow to get away from predators and the harsh african sun, but in our cosy little tubs there's no need.
H. marksi less special!? Take that back! Harpactire till death!
LOVE YOUR SHIRT MY BROTHER!!
Nice shirt Petko!
Super cool species!! Gotta love their personalities.. Lol
I enjoyed it.. very cool!
I have recently relocated to the UK and I cannot wait to start keeping African species! In South Africa, you are not allowed to keep them
was thinking that same thing.. wish i could keep our species.. Enjoy keeping them :D
I would take the opportunity to see them in the wild over being allowed to keep them any day!
They're both so pretty!
In the jungle the mighty jungle the spider threat postures toniiiiight~
love the vlogs
I love the dark den he's my favourite TH-camr
Did anyone realise the shirt he's wearing? Falling in reverse in the house yo!
Hey petko!!! Newfoundland loves you!!!!
I know their slaps are supposed to ward you off but I think they are so funny haha
They are both really beautiful. I am still searching for Harpactira cafreriana. When you find them, let me know please. Slings preferred
Yes the tarantulas are awesome but your shirt is EVEN FREAKING COOLER!
Do U have any videos of breeding scorpions? I want to try brees H.Petersy but have no video of it... what conditions I should have?
What's your advice for avoiding mold in your enclosures?
My dream T, H pulchripes😝. Tysf God bless you
Imidiatly recognize my favorite spp. Harpactira pulchripes, gold n Blue leg Baboon
I was just checking for new upload from you and 1 min after you upload lol
I miss the spider with the long spinnerets that one was super cool
Linothele something?
Yeah same. I'd love to see Petco get another one of those.
It's awesome to see all of the webbing it does.
Linothele megatheloides
That should be the one for the Harry Potter enclosure
That spider was a beauty!
Hi for your information each section of a spiders leg is called , trochanter, femur, patella, tibia, metatarsus and tarsus.
Curious about the room temp is in Dark Den? What's too cold or too hot for arachnids and reptiles?
Falling in reverse fan eh? 🤣
Kind of absurd to see a grown man in a falling in reverse shirt in 2021. What a throwback!
Hey he may be a dick but ronnie is pretty sick. He's been doing some crazy stuff here recently. Dope band my guy! No shame!
I just wanna know, how the hell do you take care of all these cute critters . That is a lot like what is your routine?
taking care of tarantulas are pretty easy depending on the species
1. Put spider in enclosure
2. Put water dish in enclosure
3. Feed spider whenever you want
That's literally it. I'd assume a collection this large, he probably spends maybe 2 or 3 hours a WEEK, just feeding, and basic maintenance.
thoses blue legs !!
Love the new tarantulas.
the first spider has some green on her back really cool
hello great video petcko
Ok I am ready to jump 😬🤣🤣🤣
I got my first T today ^^ (0.1 G. Pulchra). I was a little spooked at first but she's kinda cute :D
gotta watch this before i sleep:>🇵🇭
