I agree with the the majority of the other comments...... I am always extra excited every monday and friday to see what's going on in the dark den. It doesn't have to be something new or different; just getting updates on the animals that you have already shown is awesome! With that said, you certainly have to do what's best for you and your channel. However, I just wanted to voice that we love the content that you put out!
Would really like to see some single-species deep dives. Less general feeding, but like a full, comprehensive guide each species, new, old and otherwise. It really benefits keepers who want to look up their individual species, as well as keepers interested in a new species. The old videos on the Poecilotheria genus were great and somewhat in that vein, but instead of focusing on feeding, maybe show some life stages, behavior, and other changes over time.
Maybe I am just speaking for myself but I love your content based on your personality and your content, not Just for the difference in the videos. You introduced me into the hobby back in 2019 and now I am sitting here with multiple T's. I would love to see new kind of content, but the normal stuff is also absolutely okay. Maybe an extra channel for uncut content with your daily routines in the example of exotics lair? I would be interested in that too . Keep up with your great work petko👍
I support you in doing what you gotta do, and you definitely deserve the chance to change gears and and create in ways that are more fulfilling to you :) That said, also remember that while it might be 'the same old content' to you, that's why a lot of us like it. I will never ever ever keep tarantulas or spiders or anything you keep, but I like listening to your voice, hearing you talk about your animals, and seeing the familiar rhythms of animal care. It's relaxing. But, like I said, do things that are fulfilling to you :)

I remember when you went from Monday, Wednesday, Friday to just Monday and Friday. That decision made sense, and this one does too. You've come a really long way in the past few years and I appreciate the effort you put into your projects and videos. I'm excited to see what you come out with. Several years ago I came across you rehousing a GBB back in season 1 and that video is what got me into spiders. Now I have several!

Are ya feelin it now, Mr Krabs? I see Mr Krabs partied till he's purple at the Goofy Goober. If you're looking for another frog species to keep, get another dart frog species, like some Phyllobates terribilis frogs. It would be pretty cool to keep the most toxic creature on the planet (in the wild one milligram of terribilis poison is enough to kill about ten THOUSAND mice; though they're luckily harmless in captivity). Also they love to call so you will hear them often

can you do a time lapse of them, i am curious how they move around the enclosure. good content for the second channel. And less updates isn't bad, making up for good videos with one great video in a reasonable time span is fine by me. Also seeing that stag beetle makes me think that you don't really have any beetles.
Quality is always better than quantity. I always hoped that you would do bigger enclosures and more variety in animal species so im very excited to see how the dark den gets to the next level.

I enjoy all the content as it is. Especially the feeding videos and updates on the animals. I am disappointed that the amount of videos will be reduced. I get that people enjoy the enclosure build videos but for me it is the animals and their care that is the best part of your channel. Certainly it is not repetitive or boring as you consider it to be currently. It is informative and helps to share the relationship and life of the animals in your care. ❤️
I 100% understand where you are coming from, but also would like to point out (as many others already have) that no matter what kind of content you release, we are going to watch it whether or not we’ve seen it a thousand times before. I think that a lot of the people who watch your videos watch them because they like you just as much as they like seeing your animals. Anyway, love the content and you just do what you believe is right of course!
Could we maybe get a timelapse of the crab enclosure? I would love to see them go about their crab business. The shot of the crab munching on the roach leg at 6:15 is so funny
i support your decision! alltho it is never boring for me. i like all of your videos. you could update your Tarantula starter guide or even do multiple for each category. terrestrial, arboreal, new world and old world. some quick but informative guides so new owners can look specifically for guides or "how to's" maybe talk about some do's and dont in terms of tarantulas / scorpions / enclosure building. there's so much content i'd like to watch from you haha. out of all Tarantula youtubers, you're my favourite. i like your editing style, your charisma. you're a cool dude! keep up the good work :)

I have a nhandu chromatus who my partner (who still hates spiders) has called Bob, “Bob the Brazilian”. Because many of us never get to see tarantulas, even time lapse of one in its enclosure is entertaining, what's boring for you is not for us. Maybe consider setting up a different enclosure for your crabs, that has more beach and less hiding spots. One of my local aquarium stores has a set up like this and the crabs climb the driftwood and individual rocks you get a nice look at them in and out of the water. Or you could start singing and make music videos like Ants Canada, pretty sure that would not be boring.

Hope you keep in mind that just cause it feels stale or stagnant to you doesn't mean it is to your audience. You live with all these creatures every day, so it is just the norm for you. But for alot of us who don't have anything like that we want more videos. The feedings, rehousing, sexy-times and everything else is awesome, I can't get enough personally. I feel like we don't know alot of what's going on there with most of your creatures. You do because that's just your every day life. Just something to maybe keep in mind... if you even see this.
I've dreamed of owning a beta for years, but it just never seems to be the right time. I'm looking forward to your foray into this area. Don't worry about not putting up 2 videos per week. Most TH-camrs I watch only do 1 per week. It doesn't mean that you can't go back to doing 2 whenever you feel like it. We all need a change now & then. See you next week. I been watching your Chanel since season 1. I have a fear for spiders. Since watching your Chanel, ive started to appreciate them, and respect their lives.
Gutted as I love and look forward to your videos even if it’s just feeding videos, but you have to enjoy it as well so absolutely do what’s best for you 🖤
Vampire crabs are extremely fragile because they are wild caught, and don’t ship well. At least that’s what I’ve gathered from my experience with keeping them. They often die off quite quickly since getting them, and then if they survive for a few weeks they’ll generally live out the rest of their lives so long as the conditions are right.
I personally love the "filler" content, seeing feeding videos and stuff is always welcome to me but I understand it from your point to why you're stopping friday vids x3
If you are bored yourself I totally understand not wanting to keep posting those "regular videos". However, for those of us who are not able to keep tarantulas, the regular feeding and breeding videos are absolutely amazing, even if we have seen them a million times. They are always different in their own way and I know we would all love to keep watching them. Super sad to hear it's down to one video a week. Can't wait to see what is next in store for The Dark Den regardless though.
If you go down to 1 vid a week, maybe you can feel that you can be more meticulous with the content and put out one long video a week! I personally don’t think your content is monotonous or redundant, and I’ve enjoyed every video you’ve posted very very much. Do whatever you want to do it’s your channel and I’ll always support you :))
Wouldn't mind waiting for you to release content once a week, I end up coming back and binging all of what I missed sometimes. Other times I just catch up on the 1 video you recently released. Either way doesn't matter what you do i'd still watch it. I dont plan on ever getting into the hobby but I enjoy watching your passion for it, makes me feel like i own it without the actual responsibility of owning it. So you do you pal.

Keep up Your great work - maybe with some time you will do two viedoes again in a week, regenerate and get fun with this channel, but I think most of ppl love JUST your expression , your hobby, and all your exotic animals - I'm watching a polish YT who is travel blogger - and now he is creating nearly daily video about his life going around now - raw material and he do not care about content - and he strike bingo - I think a lot of ppl would love to just watch your feeding videos, your creating simple enclousers and just your daily basis with all them, because its really intresting! I love to see what is going on with your animals :D Im huge fan of Felix! oh I nearly forget - I stoped to be scared of spiders because of you! thanks! Even You make me thinking to get a "starter" jumping spider - they're CUTE! :D
I love the idea of seeing what you’d do with betta setups! I have 7 currently and love them... some are in with my nano tropical fish in large planted tanks with shrimp and rabbit snails. The ecology in some of these tanks keeps me fascinated for hours! As long as your passionate about what your doing then the rest will come easy. Burnout happens and I bet your content will be more awesome for doing less of them.
I hate insects and spiders but watch your channel avidly Petko. Personally I could never get bored of feeding, rehousing or sexy time videos but you do whatever you want. I'll still watch. 😁
I have been thinking that there is very little information about the Linothele megatheloides out there. Since you have/had it, I think it would be great if you dedicated a video to it, how it behaves, how to take care of it and your experience with it. I think it would help a lot in making this spider and its care a little more known. Big hug from Spain, thanks for the content, always great stuff.
lol I can't believe you didn't notice the set of crab legs sticking out from behind the wood piece on the right side of the tank. :) It was just under the bromeliad. I noticed the legs right away when you were showing off the plants. I figured you'd come back to show the little crab later, but I guess you never noticed! LOL I'll still be watching your vids, even if it's once per week. Looking forward to the builds you've got planned. You've definitely got to keep yourself happy. :) Hopefully soon Covid will calm down and you can do nature hike videos again or collab videos with some of your tarantula buddies! :)
can you give a time stamp on when the legs are visible? I don't see them either unless you are talking about the roots sticking out behind the wood on the left at 2:44
@@jessiepearson338 I'll be honest with you, I've never included a time stamp in a post before so I'm not sure how to do it. LOL Apologies. I hope that what I've included somehow links, but I don't have much faith it will. I see the little leggies in the same spot throughout the video, and granted, there's a chance they could be roots, as I'm not sure where the bromeliad is rooted or what its roots would look like, but I think it's further to the right (although the angle it's sitting at means it could possibly be roots). I didn't see roots at 2:44 but the first decent shot of the leggies I believe I see (they look like they could be segmented like a crab's) are at 1:35 There's a driftwood piece at the front of the tank, one behind it, and a bromeliad to the right, but peeking out from the left side of that back piece of driftwood are these 3 or 4 little possibly segmented leggies that look very crablike. A little earlier in the video he is showing off the pothos growth too, and you can see from a better angle, but between Petko's fingers, with worse lighting, and much blurrier. LOL To be fair, it's not what he was trying to film, so it's not his fault. LOL
For frogs id say you should get either a whites tree frog or red eyed tree frog. Whutes tree frogs have a lot of personality and are pretty chill with handling or just hanging out. Red eyed tree frogs are very pretty

If he does not have fun anymore doing them so often, let him do a break from it, I am sure it will be worth it, and we still will get great content
Hope you keep in mind that just cause it feels stale or stagnant to you doesn't mean it is to your audience. You live with all these creatures every day, so it is just the norm for you. But for alot of us who don't have anything like that we want more videos. The feedings, rehousing, sexy-times and everything else is awesome, I can't get enough personally. I feel like we don't know alot of what's going on there with most of your creatures. You do because that's just your every day life. Just something to maybe keep in mind... if you even see this.

I've dreamed of owning a beta for years, but it just never seems to be the right time. I'm looking forward to your foray into this area. Don't worry about not putting up 2 videos per week. Most TH-camrs I watch only do 1 per week. It doesn't mean that you can't go back to doing 2 whenever you feel like it. We all need a change now & then. See you next week. Vampire crabs are extremely fragile because they are wild caught, and don’t ship well. At least that’s what I’ve gathered from my experience with keeping them. They often die off quite quickly since getting them, and then if they survive for a few weeks they’ll generally live out the rest of their lives so long as the conditions are right.
The enclosures looking so good. The crabs are cool too shame they are so shy though!
I personally love the "filler" content, seeing feeding videos and stuff is always welcome to me but I understand it from your point to why you're stopping friday vids x3
If you are bored yourself I totally understand not wanting to keep posting those "regular videos". However, for those of us who are not able to keep tarantulas, the regular feeding and breeding videos are absolutely amazing, even if we have seen them a million times. They are always different in their own way and I know we would all love to keep watching them. Super sad to hear it's down to one video a week. Can't wait to see what is next in store for The Dark Den regardless though.

If you go down to 1 vid a week, maybe you can feel that you can be more meticulous with the content and put out one long video a week! I personally don’t think your content is monotonous or redundant, and I’ve enjoyed every video you’ve posted very very much. Do whatever you want to do it’s your channel and I’ll always support you :))
Wouldn't mind waiting for you to release content once a week, I end up coming back and binging all of what I missed sometimes. Other times I just catch up on the 1 video you recently released. Either way doesn't matter what you do i'd still watch it. I dont plan on ever getting into the hobby but I enjoy watching your passion for it, makes me feel like i own it without the actual responsibility of owning it. So you do you pal.

Keep up Your great work - maybe with some time you will do two viedoes again in a week, regenerate and get fun with this channel, but I think most of ppl love JUST your expression , your hobby, and all your exotic animals - I'm watching a polish YT who is travel blogger - and now he is creating nearly daily video about his life going around now - raw material and he do not care about content - and he strike bingo - I think a lot of ppl would love to just watch your feeding videos, your creating simple enclousers and just your daily basis with all them, because its really intresting! I love to see what is going on with your animals :D Im huge fan of Felix! oh I nearly forget - I stoped to be scared of spiders because of you! thanks! Even You make me thinking to get a "starter" jumping spider - they're CUTE! :D
I love the idea of seeing what you’d do with betta setups! I have 7 currently and love them... some are in with my nano tropical fish in large planted tanks with shrimp and rabbit snails. The ecology in some of these tanks keeps me fascinated for hours! As long as your passionate about what your doing then the rest will come easy. Burnout happens and I bet your content will be more awesome for doing less of them.
I hate insects and spiders but watch your channel avidly Petko. Personally I could never get bored of feeding, rehousing or sexy time videos but you do whatever you want. I'll still watch. 😁
I have been thinking that there is very little information about the Linothele megatheloides out there. Since you have/had it, I think it would be great if you dedicated a video to it, how it behaves, how to take care of it and your experience with it. I think it would help a lot in making this spider and its care a little more known.

lol I can't believe you didn't notice the set of crab legs sticking out from behind the wood piece on the right side of the tank. :) It was just under the bromeliad. I noticed the legs right away when you were showing off the plants. I figured you'd come back to show the little crab later, but I guess you never noticed! LOL
I'll still be watching your vids, even if it's once per week. Looking forward to the builds you've got planned. You've definitely got to keep yourself happy. :) Hopefully soon Covid will calm down and you can do nature hike videos again or collab videos with some of your tarantula buddies! :)
can you give a time stamp on when the legs are visible? I don't see them either unless you are talking about the roots sticking out behind the wood on the left at 2:44
@@jessiepearson338 I'll be honest with you, I've never included a time stamp in a post before so I'm not sure how to do it. LOL Apologies. I hope that what I've included somehow links, but I don't have much faith it will.
I see the little leggies in the same spot throughout the video, and granted, there's a chance they could be roots, as I'm not sure where the bromeliad is rooted or what its roots would look like, but I think it's further to the right (although the angle it's sitting at means it could possibly be roots). I didn't see roots at 2:44 but the first decent shot of the leggies I believe I see (they look like they could be segmented like a crab's) are at 1:35 There's a driftwood piece at the front of the tank, one behind it, and a bromeliad to the right, but peeking out from the left side of that back piece of driftwood are these 3 or 4 little possibly segmented leggies that look very crablike. A little earlier in the video he is showing off the pothos growth too, and you can see from a better angle, but between Petko's fingers, with worse lighting, and much blurrier. LOL To be fair, it's not what he was trying to film, so it's not his fault. LOL

For frogs id say you should get either a whites tree frog or red eyed tree frog. Whutes tree frogs have a lot of personality and are pretty chill with handling or just hanging out. Red eyed tree frogs are very pretty

Fill the enclosure with more crabs!!! Maybe like 8 more , and make a mesh for the filtration so they cant go in.
Love your treatment of your babies. Maybe bring the crabs some dead fish. It would be their main source as scavengers.
