I dig the explanation. Been running qjets for a while now and still learning some tricks to them. Just rebuilt my 82 and added a 300 duration cam so lower vacuum had my curb idle screw almost bottomed out to keep it chugging along and now I know why. Thanks for all the details while keeping the video short
You have helped me to understand how to fix my problem. As soon as I go off idle with light throttle it falls on its face. I have had trouble getting out the tubes, even with heat. I am going to try again. If I just punch it and not on a hill it seems to bypass the intermediate circuit and go directly to the main circuit. It used to be extremely smooth until I put in another cam. If you have a flat tappet cam and have had failures go to diamond like coating (DLC) lifters and it all stops.
good friend, my engine is restored and you can tell that it has higher compression, tighter, and when I try to carburete the rochestr quadrajet, no matter how hard I try, it reaches the green area of operation and I notice the engine Even so, bronco, as if it needed more air in the premix, do you think I would need to restrict the passage of gasoline in the pipe that goes up from the area of the fuel buoy to the area of the premix? or enlarge the air intake on the top cover? I know that a high level of fuel from the buoy can also cause it, greetings and thanks for your videos.
On early Quadrajets, we will pull the press in plug, threads the hole and put a set screw in with our Marine Tex epoxy. Most well plugs don’t leak, but we do seal every build we do with that epoxy. Don’t use store bought epoxy, it won’t hold.
What engine and what quadrajet? If the two aren't correctly matched, the idle circuit isn't correct, so you have to turn up idle speed to get it to idle at all. That opens the primary throttle blades and pulling air through the primary circuit which then creates the primary fuel drip.
Hi, Most well plugs don't leak. 1965-1967 did leak, but the designed changed. That being said, some will leak, and we use Marine Tex epoxy on all well plugs on every build we do. Don't use store bought epoxy, it will not work. quadrajetpower.com/epoxy-2-oz-marine-tex-2-part-epoxy/
Hello , I just recently bought the idle tubes from your company .unfortunately they were too loose and they just dropped in theire location . I had to use another brand and tap them in theire location . I baught 2 sets of .038 and two .040 . All of them were too loose and just dropped in theire location without tapping 👎
Thanks for the info!!!

Great video and great timing ;-) Thank you so much!

How do you repair leaking wells?

@@QuadrajetPowerLLC im pretty sure mine leak as its flooded after sitting for 15 or 20 mins and need to hold throttle open to start
What would cause my car to not idle and pull fuel thru the booster rather than the idle circuit?

If the two aren't correctly matched, the idle circuit isn't correct, so you have to turn up idle speed to get it to idle at all. That opens the primary throttle blades and pulling air through the primary circuit which then creates the primary fuel drip.
Do you have a preferred way to do well plug leak repairs? How likely is a factory QJet from a 1975 Olds 455 to have leaking wells?
