Glad to see this fight gets recognized 😊 before I started the DLC I saw so many scary videos of her and thought it would be an unfun experience but it was the other way around and it's one of the bosses I really enjoy helping people in co-op and wished there was a summon sign there so I don't have to go and put my sign down there every time xD
Looking cool boss =\= best boss I mean, she is really have too much speed for some weapons or playstyles, it's not great, then you should change your build even partially for a single boss
I've pointed out many other things other than looking cool and she is not the coolest looking boss either, it's probably Bayle for me, his animations are super cool and epic, but overall not the best (Bayle is 2nd or 3rd best ER boss for me). She far slower than Messmer, Consort Radahn and some other bosses in DLC and like Malenia (which is different than most ER bosses), you can't usually face tank her, she will punish you for that so you are forced to learn her fight and git gud xD you can clear all ER bosses with every weapon you want, it's only the matter of skill, not the build really. My friend can clear the whole game with lvl 1 wretch without any weapon upgrades, but I can't. Does it mean his non-existent build is better or something? Nah, just my skill issue xD I've cleared dlc with this build with relative ease and the only time I changed my build a bit was for consort Radahn and I only changed much to be able to use Moonveil, that's it. Big bonk stance breaking weapons had a good run in main game and far more powerful than most builds, dlc made them feel like other builds xD
@@MHShokuhi well, lvl1 wretch with start bonk is the most universal "build" in game. Wery slowly killing all, but this "build" want from you only dodge-skill, and do a bonk, in boss windows Rellana very bad boss for dual weapon builds. I mean, you almost can't do damadge, to she, without taking damadge. Idk, how it's feels on Messmer, didn't tried him on dual rapiers char "Big bonkers" builds one of the strongest in game, especially if can tank few hits from DLC bosses. Rellana on my first DLC playthrough didn't even released from stunlock, because I played on greataxes and greathammers, partially on hold attacks. But rot build with dual rapiers just suck on Rellana. I defeated her only then starts parrying her, and attacking with only one rapier
Which dual weapon builds? My friends with jump attack bonk builds and double thrusting weapons you mentioned (blood antspur rapier with poison mist + cold estoc) did far easier than me in this fight and we come back to what I said: skill issue 😅 This boss needs skill for most builds which makes it a great boss
@@MHShokuhi because, it's blood + frost. I used only rot and poison Not really skill, more patience. What I don't really have. This is, why I don't like Malenia and Consort Radahn (Radahn the worst for me, because Malenia can be stunlocked by most of weapons, and don't want only waiting windows from you. Radahn want from you only patience. Same with Rellana, if you using not very fast, but not staggering her easily (like greathammers, or greataxes) weapon, she want from you only patience (Or parry)
@@Vasilar well, using more status effects is more fun xD and you don't need to change your build tbh. i get it and i HATE Consort Radahn xD i died 10 times more to him and it's beyond having patience -_- he is too unforgiving and his combos are toooo long and you don't get to attack much even with fast weapons, you can barely get 1 light attack after 6-8 rolls sometimes :V but with good defense you can learn Rellana so much faster than him or Malenia (one of the reasons i loved Rellana was it was more balanced than Malenia and you get so much more windows for attacking) thrusting shield + cragblade is the old bonk stance break for now xD you can face tank and break everything beside consort radahn -_-
