    I wanted to take a minute and share with everybody my experience out on the trails this weekend in tug hill. I was having some problems with my suspension and out of nowhere Jesse rolled up on the trail and pulled right up to us. He immediately engaged in conversation and gave us very helpful advice with my XCR suspension. He even offered to adjust all the suspension trailside. After doing so, it made for a great riding for the rest of the weekend!. Who rolls up on a bunch of strangers and -15° temperatures and offers to help. Straight up great guy, with tons of knowledge and looking forward to following him on TH-cam. Thanks again!!

      Greg!!! I was hoping you were going to check the channel out. Im happy to help and i hope what i did actually made the sled better. Trail side changes like that are tough but doable. Suspension is key to make your riding enjoyable and i really and glad i stopped and helped you out! Hopefully we run into one another again!

    Bruce told me about this video and asked me to let him know how I felt about it. I called him and let him know but I wanted you to know that the video is very informative. When I riding with him I know he’s constantly thinking what can do to make this better. I also told him I would like to see videos where you guys are on different snowmobiles swapping and seeing what you guys like and don’t like. Also to other people reading this post, if you’re not happy with your sled, don’t just complain, reach out and ask Jesse or Bruce, they have a ton of knowledge.

    Great video. Interesting to see that Bruce suggested more preload on the fronts. I took preload out of the front end to get the a-arms parallel with the ground. Took this advice from one of your older videos with the VR1. I have it dialed in pretty well. At this point I am just adjusting low speed on the fronts to keep it flat in the corners. I typically have the low speeds 2-4 clicks out from full soft. defiantly a different handling sled than my past 3 procross cats. Fun to learn a new chassis.

    • @JESSEJAMES322
      @JESSEJAMES322  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      he does that to get the front of the track off the ground. Only reason i will be able to recue preload is becuae the spindles will be tall enough to keep the front of the track off the ground!

      VR1 we have touched on many many times. SHocks have smaller shafts. only one compression adjustment. softer front ski springs. alla round will be a softer more plush ride. aside form all the hard parts that the XCR has that are beefier

    Low and Hi speed ajustment is not the same as a dirt bike.... Now im questing if this video is correct... Dirt Bike: Hi speed knob is for hi impacts not hi speed. Example: low speed off cliff but hi impact. Hi speed is more for bottoming adjustment. Not hi speed. (Counter intuitive I know But watch some Dirt Bike videos, Witch have had these kind of shocks for some 20 years). Just my 2 cents

    • @JESSEJAMES322
      @JESSEJAMES322  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      ok dont trust us then idk what to tell you. Bruce has been working on these shocks for 20+ years and i trust him. Hi Speed is the speed that the shaft and piston travel through a body. so if its at a high rate through the body then its high speed. If its a low speed through the body then its low speed. low speed is cornering and body roll. hi speed is fast hits and big hits

    @larrydurr2596 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Great video. I have changed my rear springs to heavy duty as suggested. That made a world of difference. My question is about the number of clicks on the front shocks. My front shocks have different numbers of available clicks. Is that normal or do I have defective shocks? One side has 10 clicks the other 14. 2022 VR1. Thanks

    • @JESSEJAMES322
      @JESSEJAMES322  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      HD are a game changer. Not the total answer because valving is needed in the shocks but makes a huge differnece. I have never heard of that actually but they should be the same amount of clicks. Have you told your dealer this?

    Polaris sent out the Front Track Shocks on the 22XCR's with the spring tab up in-between the opening in the spring retainer and not down in the adjustment ring on the bottom of the Front Track shock, what is Bruce's explanation for this and what way should the springs be, tab up or tab down?

    Morning Jesse, got a chance to put on 150 miles on the new Assault finally lol.. I started off full soft as you recommended and to my surprise the Assault is pretty stiff in the rear but could handle what ever I threw at it. ( I am coming off 2020 XCR 137 Pro-xc) However when I just want to chill and cruise and it is rough it is a little harsh. Would you recommend re-valve as you has discussed on your channel or change springs? Thank you in advance, this is awesome we all have a place to get knowledgeable opinions!

    • @JESSEJAMES322

      Hey! So yes the assaults are valved a little stiffer but again thats what makes them handle the bigger stuff. it is extremely tough to get best of both worlds BUT it i was to choose one i would choose a re-valve from bruce. i would not at all going to the softer springs.

    Thank you for educating us again. I’m wondering if you can help me on something. Basically the Ride Command sucks in Maine. In Vermont all the clubs are under the state and are uniform in the numbering system and are all on the state map and are on the Ride Command. In Maine the state map has only the ITS state trails that connect areas and the club network is on their own maps. The infinite club maps are not easy to get depending on how big the club is. The state trails come out ok on the GPS and the club trails are basically non existent. Other GPS systems have everything. I have a 2015 Pro S with the first year in dash ride command. Is there anything Polaris can do or can I somehow download the information? You seem to be in a position with people that might be able to address this. I’d appreciate it thanks

      how many miles? i would suggest a rebuild and or a revalve. 1500 miles is when the shocks should be redone. the 22 XCR did not come with HD rear torsion springs. they came with standard duty and you at 200 pounds need the HD. the reason you're feeling like its a harsh ride is because you have the black knob turned in pretty far. that will make it feel harsh. i would take some turns out of that knob. and preload on ski springs perfect but the FTS (front shock in the rear suspenion) only needs 1/8 inch of preload. if you have that spring cranked up that will definitely contribute to your push

      they are very easy. the link at the bottom of this comment will show you how its done. We are very far away from the season. Bruce turns shocks around in days of getting them. 99% of the time you have them back in the same week. if you are interetsed in that let me know and i will send you the link explaining what to do to send them in. ill keep answering as long as you keep responding! happy to help!

    I have a 2022 VR1 137" sled. I put the HD springs in the rear as recommended and even turned up the adjustment block to hard and the rear is still soft. I am 190# and no extra luggage. When I sit on the sled the rear skid completely compresses. I have about 300 miles on the sled and the track isn't that loose where I need to tighten it up. Where can I get more rear spring pressure? The rear shock seems to be pretty oily where the clicker is, but that shouldn't affect the spring rate. Any suggestions?

    • @JESSEJAMES322

      so the springs can only help so much. the valving in the shocks need help. which we are testing set ups now but Bruce has a ton of notes and if you get him your rear shocks he will get them working properly. You also could have a dead (no nitrogen) shock in the rear. we have seen a few already

      @@JESSEJAMES322thanks for the recommendation. I think you are correct that it’s dead as there is no resistance “dampening” and when I was adjusting the clicker, there was a lot of oil near the knob. How do I get a hold of Bruce to send my shock in to have him revalve it?

      the video you commented on explains what each clicker does and how to adjust them. You cant hate a sled if you havent attempted to adjust anything. if you think its stiff you need to turn the clickers out (to the left). and you have to see where your torsion springs are. XCR in 22 did not come with HD torsion springs which we also cover in this video
