One exciting new drone . I love all my drone but dji avata is my drone i can fly anywhere. Hit branch , grass etc.. and just keep going. Great review. " Motion Controller is really great in winter like Canada "😉
Great to see you at the SFDM. Great review as always. I believe this new model will be the go to for beginner FPV and used for more indoor shooting. Plus can be a great addition for police and fire officials for quick applications if they don't ban DJI.

Hi Billy. Not a Avata question sorry. On the Air 3, are you now able to ZOOM in photo mode? As I cannot. Please help. Thanx. Side topic, would be cool if when recording video you could actually pause recording to set up for next shot so not so much work later in post.

Great video. One thing I do like about the charging hub is I can leave it in my pickup bed charging without having the batteries fall out. I’m constantly annoyed with the M3E hub as the batteries easily fall out driving between jobs

my only one question - did they add option to disable this annoying height limiter? not that limiter that is 500m. Im about limiter that dont allow you to go lower than 30 cm and at all - avata slows down its descending when flyes lower than 5 meters above anything.
Hey Billy any update regarding the compability with Older Devices such as the Remote 2 and DJI Googles 2
I'm very impressed with the quality and craftsmanship of this drone. And that's hard for me to admit as I'm a very analytical person.
I think the jump from Occusync 3+ to 4 in the UK/Europe at least is a substantial jump, my mini 4 pro absolutely trounces my mavic 3 pro which is just nuts considering the price point and how far apart they are in release terms.
I have not been into FPV due to the steep learning curve but this little drone has started to change my mind.

@@billykyle until the Avata 3 comes out right? I want a noise comparison between the original avata and the Avata 2. The noise was the main reason I ditched the orginal Avata.
Ordered mine this AM, fly more kit. Got the filters and props. Bad part thus far is i wanted a 4th battery but am unable to locate single packs for now.
When you talked about leaving in Auto for dark to light scenes, are you speaking about iso, or shutter speed? My understanding is the Aperture is fixed at 2.0

Hello Billy. I have noticed on every review videos showing the video captured by the drone all seem to have a look like the a loss of signal quality when showing on TH-cam (slight blur and digital smear). Any comments? Again, thank you for your fine content.

I have a quick question... Does your Avata 2 video split into another clip after 3:30 mark or so? I shoot in 4K 60 and was told that it may be why this happens. Your thoughts?
How do you avoid obstacles while ascending ? Couldn’t you crash into powerlines etc with obstacle avoidance above?

Having never worn any of these dji goggles your comment about the field of view when in passview being too tight has me wondering is that not the same field of view you have when flying? Or does it use more of the screens and completely immerse you?

Do you know if the GPS issue is fixed? Flying from no GPS to GPS on the Avata would often cause a flyaway and crash
I like the battery charger, it’s not cheap looking and protects batteries.

Great looking drone! Main problem is the Motion Controller is for right handed people! I am left handed and was hoping they would have a motion controller that is ambidextrous!

Just buy the DJI 100 WATT charger. Why spend all that money for a nice drone to not use the correct charger? Makes no sense

I bought the entire Explorer Combo and Fly More kit for the AVATA 1 last week, I haven't unboxed a thing and decided today to send EVERYTHING BACK... including ND filters and extra props to purchase the NEW AVATA 2. 😂😂😂 CHEERS! 🍻

As usual, great review! As for the Avata 2, I'll keep my Avata and the $2K that the new offering would cost, when all is said and done (add to the $1,200 for the Fly More kit, the cost of the DJI Care, ND filters, etc plus sales tax). Why pay for that I don't need or won't use (like the cameras on the bulky goggles 3). Thanks DJI...but no thanks!

Hey Billy, have you tried to connect the RC2 controller to Goggles 3 yet? Im wondering if the controller display stays active when the goddles are connected to it
I still wish they'd give you the option of which controller it came with instead of forcing experienced fliers to buy the controller 3.

The price is really inticing. I wanted an original Avata, but ultimately went with a smaller Freestyle Analog Quad. The Avata 1 didn't seem great for acrobatics or hard turns.
The Avata 2 looks much more aerodynamic, with more emphasis on acrobatics. Even users with the motion joystick can do one touch acrobatics, which is a nice accessibility feature.
Price point is great IMO

@@billykyle To me it is unfortunate that there is not clearity on this from DJI. I waited for the controller 3 since I wanted to by the two while the 3 was announced. Now I'm not sure what is wise...feels like I should just go with the controller 2 but I'd expected the price to be somewhat cheaper than the 2, but it's not.
This drone might make me switch. I don’t have one of these yet. My biggest problem is I wear glasses all the time. I can’t see without them. How does this headset work with glasses?
I wear 2.75 reading t see close up and writing. I have the avata 1 (got to get used to saying this) I adjust the knobs on my goggles and it focuses just fine. It looks so clear. I imagine the avata 2 has the same design and heard down the line that you can wear glasses with these but don't quote me.
@@phillipcoshatt6845 I am a +5.00 with an add of +2.00 for reading. I have great glasses and can you believe I'm a photographer. If I got the Avata 2, I'd need something custom made for those goggles. Thank you for answering...your situation got close.

Something about having to buy the controller and goggles again killed my interest when that got confirmed today. Going from the original FPV to Avata had a lot of equipment carryover, but for the Avata 2 they want everything to be bought fresh, despite pushing us a new motion controller less than a year ago. I can’t justify the purchase 😕

I can buy the Avata for $170 less...I'm not really a videographer, more of an fpv enthusiast, I'm just not sure I want to put $1000 into the Avata 2. Do you think I would be making a big mistake by going with the original one? EDIT: I think you answered my questions, a LOT of improvements for not a lot of price difference I think.

using fpv goggles while needing prescription glasses is a pain in the ass, because i cant simply lift the goggles up to see my surrounding wihtout completely taking the goggles off and finding my glasses. kind of annoying. i wish the pass through was bettwr

It runs a new transmission system, why should it be backwards compatible? Do you not like technology that progresses forward?
