I was 16 , sitting alone in a cell on Christmas eve in 1999. I was consumed by rage and in a dark place, though the lights never turned off. We were visited by a Christian group bearing gifts, of which I was given two. The first was a beanie baby kangaroo, which I was not allowed to take back to my cell, but I got back upon my release and have to this day. The second was far more valuable. As I sat there, some tough kid with a plushie, I was given compassion and a message of God's love for us all. That night, I knelt over my block of a bed, and I prayed to God for forgiveness of my sins. It felt silly at first to think of myself doing this, but as I prayed aloud I felt this indescribable feeling. All the darkness within was gone, and I felt uplifted. I had given myself to God and accepted Jesus as savior in the wee hours of Christmas morning. I was forever changed before I stepped into 2000. All the blessings I have in my life, from that day to this and as many more as I may see, I owe to the glory of God, who has set a path for me and provides all that I need to walk it.

Let me tell you why the original 1611 KJV contained the Apocrypha:
The King James Bible was put out _(officially speaking)_ by the Anglican Church of England. It was translated by 54 Anglican scholars; half of which were Bishops, and half of which were Puritans. So what did the Church of England believe concerning the canon of inspired Scripture? Take a look at this paragraph in the sixth article of the Anglican _Thirty-Nine Articles of Religion:_
*VI. Of the Sufficiency of the Holy Scriptures for Salvation.*
"And the other Books (as Hierome saith) the Church doth read *_for example of life and instruction of manners; but yet doth it not apply them to establish any doctrine;_* such are these following:
The Third Book of Esdras The Fourth Book of Esdras The Book of Tobias The Book of Judith The rest of the Book of Esther The Book of Wisdom Jesus the Son of Sirach Baruch the Prophet The Song of the Three Children The Story of Susanna Of Bel and the Dragon The Prayer of Manasses The First Book of Maccabees The Second Book of Maccabees"
You can read the entire sixth article online if you want. But as you can see, the Church of England did NOT accept the Apocrypha as inspired Scripture. This is why the translators placed the Apocrypha _IN BETWEEN_ the Old and New Testaments. They did _not_ place the Apocryphal books in the Old Testament canon as the Catholic Church does. Therefore, the Apocrypha was never actually printed _IN_ the King James Bible, it was printed _WITH_ the King James Bible.
So in conclusion: the translators printed the Apocrpyah with the King James Bible simply because it has historical value and good wisdom in it. Nobody believed it was inspired Scripture.
But what really matters the most is... _what do the Scriptures say about the Apocrypha?_ Let me show you:
Luke 24:44 (KJV) And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the *_law of Moses,_* and in *_the prophets,_* and in *_the psalms,_* concerning me.
In this verse, Jesus Christ lays out the official canon of the Hebrew Bible the same exact way the Jews do:
_The Law of Moses = The Torah._
    _The Prophets = The Nabhim._
    _The Psalms = The Kethubim._
These three sections of the Hebrew Bible make up the entire 39 books of the Hebrew O.T. _(the Apocrypha is not included)._
It is also worth noting that the Apocryphal books were never quoted by Jesus Christ or the Apostles.
Also, the Septuagint, being a collection of corrupt Alexandrian manuscripts and the *_only_* manuscripts that the Apocryphal books are found in, is dated to be from around 350 A.D. at the very earliest, which is well after the entire New Testament was completed.
This proves that the Apocrypha is not inspired Scripture.

If you can read Sirach and Wisdom of Solomon and think that there are not almost exact paraphrases of statements and themes from these writings found in the words of Christ, Paul, and James, then your ability to render meaning and substance from text is severely limited. But you are confident. I’ll give you that.

    • @AnthonyTuminello
      @AnthonyTuminello 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

@@tonywolfemusic5920 Wrong. Neither Jesus Christ nor the Apostles quote the Apocrypha. It's the other way around, the Apocrypha is what quotes Jesus Christ and the Apostles.
As I stated in my comment, the Apocrypha is only found in the Greek Septuagint. Contrary to popular belief, the Septuagint is NOT from B.C. The earliest Septuagint we have is from 350 A.D.
On top of that, the Greek Septuagint is a collection of false, satanic Alexandrian manuscripts. They are the exact same manuscripts that the modern corrupt Bibles are translated from.
But aside from all of that, there are SEVERAL reasons why neither Jesus Christ nor the Apostles would have used the Septuagint. I can get into that if you want me to, and I can also show you some contradictions found in the Apocrypha if you want me to, but as for this comment, I'll end it here.

Praise God for His grace and for wildly saving people like me who had not been in His church, had not read His word, and had not sat and talked with His kids. How awesome He is. I recommend seeking out testimonies from those who were saved straight out of darkness like me- the good hand and power of God. There is revelation and clarity revealed in these testimonies and they will tell you about the workings of the devil's deceptions and about the religions, dividing the good truth from what is not. They will tell you things that those who grew up in even the christian church might not have had eyes for. Testimonies are always so awesome. The apocrypha is not a list of demonic books or something... They are highly regarded but also recognized as not being divinely inspired... That's why in every copy of the Bible/manuscript you find, prior to the Catholic Church adopting the books as inspired, had the little label "apocrypha" on those books.
The Latin meaning of apocrypha is: "secret, of doubtful authenticity, uncanonical"
This refers to the church's view of their divine inspiration for all of church history. Important? Yes. Inspired? No.

Originally, the Apocrypha was removed because it was never considered divinely inspired by GOD, therefore it was not accepted as part of the original canon of Holy Scripture.
It was included in that KJV, placed BETWEEN the OT and NT, STRICTLY BASED ON ITS HISTORICAL VALUE BY SOME.
HOWEVER, further study proves the Apocrypha not only contradicts the Bible, but even contradicts itself.
Other reasons it was rejected include: The books were not originally written in Hebrew as was the OT. None of the writers claimed "divine inspiration." They were never accepted by the early Jewish Church. Etc.
The Catholic Church is the only denomination that fully accepts it.
Calling the Apocrypha part of Scripture is like saying BECAUSE the INDEX is CONTAINED IN the Bible, it is divinely inspired by GOD.
In case you wonder, NO, IT IS NOT! And neither was the Apocrypha.
Be careful what you "believe" on TH-cam. Most people do NOT take the time to research and confirm what they post.

Have Ye anything to eat? They say yes Lord..Broiled Fish and Honey Comb..this Honey comb and broiled fish is very important and is not found in other texts.. the broiled fish and honey comb is what he eats with them to prove to Thomas and all that He is not a Ghost..and remember He first breaks bread with Peter to open Peter's eyes that it is Him (Jesus) and He is Risen and is Alive..there is a great mystery and lesson hidden here..and those 2 foods (broiled fish and honey comb) are very important and they give credit to other texts and other books being Validated in this story in scripture..book of Enoch and Jude.. brothers and sisters ask and seek and Pray and talk to Jesus..and remember to hear from and have communion with The Lord you have to first have 100 percent solid Faith in Him in order to hear from Him on certain levels..but always talk to Jesus before man!🙏💯

The apocrypha was not part of the Hebrew Bible and first appeared in the Greek Septuagint. It has NEVER been consider canon , only a source of Jewish history. Study the 1618 Synode of Dort to discover the 4 tests applied to determine canon. The whole Apocrypha fails miserably at all 4 tests.

The apocrypha was found in the dead sea scrolls. The problem with society today is that they follow religion over the Bible. You can’t take or add anything to the scriptures.
Martin Luther removed the apocrypha because he said it wasn’t inspired by God

Not even a "Shalt." .. That was the way the individual s from ancient England (Great Britain) spoke..Thus, the scripture s to include the Copper Scrolls were translated and re-written in their language..The original Biblical writings were in the language of the time in that area.(Israel)..That being Hebrew, Aramaic and even Greek.. I also believe if my Precious Savior, JESUS CHRIST was standing here, next to me right now, He would communicate with me with a Southern Accent..Because this old Preacher is from Alabama...If He was talking to a Christian from an area in Africa, that individual would hear JESUS speak in that person's language..And so on and so on..When JESUS Shouts out to the whole world at once, Each will hear Him in their own tongue!!!...PRAISE AND ALL GLORY TO THE LORD JESUS CHRIST!!🙏

my kjv bible has maps that weren’t in the 1611. However i understand as the translators understood that reference materials can be helpful additions that no one will confuse with scripture. the etymology of the word apocrypha indicates it was for private reading and not scripture. The other differences they eliminated the horrible gothic font and standardized spelling and punctuation. modern kjv bibles roughly correspond to the blayney 1769 edition which was last major revision. The Restoration of the Fulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ
A Bicentennial Proclamation to the World
The First Presidency and Council of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints This proclamation was read by the Prophet, Seer, Revelator and Church President Russell M. Nelson as part of his message at the 190th Annual General Conference, April 5, 2020, in Salt Lake City, Utah.
We solemnly proclaim that God loves His children in every nation of the world. God the Father has given us the divine birth, the incomparable life, and the infinite atoning sacrifice of His Beloved Son, Jesus Christ. By the power of the Father, Jesus rose again and gained the victory over death. He is our Savior, our Exemplar, and our Redeemer. Two hundred years ago, on a beautiful spring morning in 1820, young Joseph Smith, seeking to know which church to join, went into the woods to pray near his home in upstate New York, USA. He had questions regarding the salvation of his soul and trusted that God would direct him. In humility, we declare that in answer to his prayer, God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ, appeared to Joseph and inaugurated the “restitution of all things” (Acts 3:21) as foretold in the Bible. In this vision, he learned that following the death of the original Apostles, Christ’s New Testament Church was lost from the earth. Joseph would be instrumental in its return. We affirm that under the direction of the Father and the Son, heavenly messengers came to instruct Joseph and re-establish the Church of Jesus Christ. The resurrected John the Baptist restored the authority to baptize by immersion for the remission of sins. Three of the original twelve Apostles-Peter, James, and John-restored the apostleship and keys of priesthood authority. Others came as well, including Elijah, who restored the authority to join families together forever in eternal relationships that transcend death. We further witness that Joseph Smith was given the gift and power of God to translate an ancient record: the Book of Mormon-Another Testament of Jesus Christ. Pages of this sacred text include an account of the personal ministry of Jesus Christ among people in the Western Hemisphere soon after His Resurrection. It teaches of life’s purpose and explains the doctrine of Christ, which is central to that purpose. As a companion scripture to the Bible, the Book of Mormon testifies that all human beings are sons and daughters of a loving Father in Heaven, that He has a divine plan for our lives, and that His Son, Jesus Christ, speaks today as well as in days of old. We declare that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, organized on April 6, 1830, is Christ’s New Testament Church restored. This Church is anchored in the perfect life of its chief cornerstone, Jesus Christ, and in His infinite Atonement and literal Resurrection. Jesus Christ has once again called Apostles and has given them priesthood authority. He invites all of us to come unto Him and His Church, to receive the Holy Ghost, the ordinances of salvation, and to gain enduring joy. Two hundred years have now elapsed since this Restoration was initiated by God the Father and His Beloved Son, Jesus Christ. Millions throughout the world have embraced a knowledge of these prophesied events. We gladly declare that the promised Restoration goes forward through continuing revelation. The earth will never again be the same, as God will “gather together in one all things in Christ” (Ephesians 1:10). With reverence and gratitude, we as His Apostles invite all to know-as we do-that the heavens are open. We affirm that God is making known His will for His beloved sons and daughters. We testify that those who prayerfully study the message of the Restoration and act in faith will be blessed to gain their own witness of its divinity and of its purpose to prepare the world for the promised Second Coming of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

I speak like a king because I use the king James bible. Repent! I know someone who died and came back to life. There is a kingdom for the righteous Christians. Every righteous Christian should preach the true gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ every week. Going to church every sunday is an abomination. If any man love not the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be Anathema Maranatha. 1 Corinthians 16:22. The everlasting gospel is to believe on the Lord Jesus, repent of your deeds, and keep the commandments of Jesus if you love him. We must abstain from (fornication, idolatry, blood, strangled things) the FIBS before we can say that we have turned to God. Do you love Judge Jesus the Almighty enough to respect each holy day, each new moon, and each sabbath? Colossians 2:8,16,18. Old King James Bible. Do you love the Lord Jesus enough to stop making yourself abominable, and to stop eating abominations like swine (pig/pork/bacon…), chicken, turkey, catfish, lobster, mouse, shrimp, cicada, etc? Revelation 21:8, Leviticus 11:43, Deuteronomy 14, Revelation 18:2. Now Romans 14 is clearly talking about fast days (not eating to the Lord) and the feast days of men like anniversaries, birthdays, graduations, weddings, promotions, dedications, etc. And Romans 14 also speaks about the people (biblitarian clean beast eaters) who may eat all things God said was clean, and the people who only eat herbs (herbivore vegetarians/vegans). Biblitarians are stronger, healthier and live longer than herbivores. God was the one who esteemed, blessed, sanctified, and hallowed the sabbath day. He also blesses each new moon, and holy feast day. He did NOT bless and does NOT esteem the first day sunday, turkeyday, Christmas, Easter, crossover (January 1st), Ramadan, friday, nor other heathen days. REPENT of your deeds and preach the true gospel to sinners in the streets. Jesus hates the deeds and the doctrine of the Nicolaitanes which is grace and the traditions of men. I pray that the Holy Ghost will open your eyes to the truth. Have a good residue of the year. Love others as Jesus loves you.

The Old Testament is the same exact books as the Jewish Bible. The books found in the Apocrypha claim to be additional books that are not in the Jewish Bible, they therefore were rejected and are not Canon.

When the Jewish canon was being assembled two different versions emerged. One was the Hebrew Tanakh as we know it today and the other, used by Hellenized Jewish communities outside of 1st Century Palestine, was the Greek Septuagint. Early Christian leaders included many from the Hellenized Jewish community, so when the Church was assembling the official canon that would become the Christian Bible, they decided to use the Septuagint. Later on, Protestant theologians decided, in order to render a faithful translation of Scripture, to go back to the source languages only to find that the texts that have come to be known as the Apocrypha had no extant Hebrew texts available to translate them from, so they came to be disregarded in Protestant churches.

I went to Bible college and learned that it was in the original King James Bible, because it was required at the time. King James simply paid the translators. The translators wanted to honor him. King James was in love with only his wife. There was a man who worked with the translators early on and either left or was fired I don't remember. This man claimed in 1650 that King James was a homosexual. King James died in 1625.

I've never heard of that definition of nice I'd double check on that but there are some words like conversation, let, and prevent that have much richer definitions. The language in general is a more exact language and was archaic even when the kjv was made. It's was chosen for use because it could better translate from the original languages. 1. The “Apocrypha” is actually a Protestant collection of books. It mostly correlates with the Roman Catholic Deuterocanon, but not exactly. The Protestant Apocrypha actually has MORE books in it than the Deuterocanon- yes, Protestant Bibles with the Apocrypha have books that aren’t even in Catholic Bibles.
    2. The Protestant Apocrypha originated when Protestants removed the Deuterocanonical sections of the Roman Catholic Old Testament, and moved them to the middle of the Bible. In addition, Protestant included other ancient Jewish books they had which weren’t even part of the Catholic Deuterocanon. (The deuterocanon means “secondary canon” and is used by Catholics to denote those books which are in the Greek version of the OT - the Septuagint - but not in the Hebrew version).
    3. All Protestant Bibles up until the 1800s had the Apocrypha. It was only then that some folks started to think they shouldn’t be printed with the canonical books and plus, it saved money not to print them.
    4. Just because the Apocryphal books were printed with Bibles doesn’t mean Protestant back then accepted them as canonical. They didn’t. However, Protestants continued to read them just like we might read CS Lewis or some other Christian books. The Reformers and even the Puritans quote from them, but they didn’t consider them Holy Scripture.

Was he someone who says that the 1611 edition of the KJV is the only real and true KJV? If so, that's actually not that hard to explain to someone like him. The letter _J_ wasn't officially adopted into the English language until around 1634, so until then, the letter _I_ was used in place of the letter _J._
But the thing is, the letter _I_ _(where it was used in place of the letter _J),_ made the "J" sound, not the "Y" sound. So the name "Iesvs" was still pronounced as "Jesus".
Go look up the video _"From Yeshua to Jesus: How We Got the Spelling and Pronunciation of the Name Jesus in English"_ here on TH-cam. It's a very good video explaining the history behind it all.

There was no English when the original text was translated, is why it was translated. What I mean is non of the names are what their names actually were. So I've been translating, using pulpit commentary so I can know what they actually meant in their language. The first sentence in English is one word in Hebrew. Birishith- not THE beginning, but OUR beginning. I love God's word, and there is soooooo much more to it. Consider the word cotton in English. When God clothed them with skins, that word is Katamma, meaning flesh of a man. Nepesh Chaya. He literally put flesh of a man on them. Not a coat, or jacket. W hat we did wrong in my opinion, is weve defined God in giving Him human charateristics, hen our ancestors, that may have known His name, found it dissrespectful to utter it. Yet we gave Him human body that is subject to this earth. ie; head, nose, ears, eyes,..etc. what need would God have of these things? Humans need these things, not God. Thats not His name, nor do i know f He is literally a He. Let's put Him above us created. We are as filthy rags, yt we are haughty to each other. How did this happen?Greeks? Romans? Emperor Constantine? King James Charles Stuart 1? PEACE
