Hey Daragh, nice to see you back in Germany and apparently having better experiences. it would be cool if you explored a bit of the German beer culture...greetings from Germany😉
@@tc2664 One of my favorite german beers are "Veltins" (Brewery is located in the Sauerland, a Region of Westfalen) or "Kölsch" (there are many local breweries in Cologne)...Every federal state, every region, many cities have countless types of beer...there is not only Bavaria, which is seen as Germany abroad...there is a lot to discover ✌
Darragh, since you are in Germany, I would like to invite you to The Netherlands, specifically Arnhem, we serve a decent pint of Guinness at one of the pubs here and it has a brilliant short story behind it as to how the pub obtained the Pints of Plain.
I used to live in Berlin, this video is so nostalgic for me as I was always drinking in Irish pubs when I was homesick. I am only half through during this comment, but hopefully you go to Badfish, as apparently they import it from Dublin.
Living in Berlin: you missed Badfish, best pint in Berlin :( Kilkenny is all right. There is a random one, not the best, but great location and a fiver a pint, "Cliffs of Dooneen", definitely price/value winner.
Good to see Darragh back on the pints reviews. Best pint of Guinness I had last year was in Ronnie Drews Irish bar in Krakow Poland, and I live in Northern Ireland. Sacrilege to say on here, but I'm drinking more of McGregors Forged stout this year than Guinness
Great video. To make it unreal, can you try and show more of the inside and outside of the bars. Maybe even seeing the bar tender pull the pint etc. Best of luck 👍
A great video loved it so very informative and interesting 🧐.Love the way you presented it and so glad you had a great time.Thank you for sharing till the next time your getting good at filming these videos.💯💟💟💟💟💟
Brilliant video daragh, keep going lad!!!! Can't believe you found a pint of kilkenny in Berlin, been looking for a pint of it ever since you done the video of it in mulligans. Top work boss 👏 🍻
Yay, Guinness inspections in random places us Guinness fiends may well end up and are looking for a decent pint. Great work, welcome back and take it easy.
Nice to see you back. Like the format. If you like Kilkenny....give Hobgoblin Ale (Ruby) a go. Struggle to find it now as taken over by big breweries but worth a go....especially in the Cotswolds. I'm from Sheffield so struggle to get it now but used to be top drop.
I just spent the weekend in Berlin and it was great fun - I'm reliving my experience through your video - I'm heading out now for a beer as I'm inspired.... in London.
Yeah mate this was sick, you need to get to more European cities for similar videos! Just cruisey, casual pint drinking videos in Europe are cool as! Also love you going for the Murphys and Kilkenny to mix it up!
All hail Kilkenny!!!!!!! There isn't anything like it! I've tried all the other similar ones (minus O'Hara's) but Kilkenny stands alone. I have had a bad pint though! It was in Louisville KY and it was just rushed I think. Idk...it wasn't as amazing as I had remembered. Found another pub with it and it was back to being amazing! So I do think it's possible to find a bad pint of Kilkenny...in America 😂 lots of people don't understand that you need to wait.
Berlin is brutal for Guinness, ever since the Oscar Wilde closed down. Forget about the Kilkenny and Murphy’s and these places with their rubbish €6.80 pints. Head down south of the border to Vienna and into Flanagans for legitimately the best pint of Guinness in Europe. Run by Fuzzy from Foxrock, and your pint of Guinness will cost around €5.20. Austria is a million miles ahead of Germany for Guinness.
@@Novaera89 Cheers, yeah, I knew that, just wondering what happened him, also did you know Tom Plunkett , he managed the Irish Harp a long time ago before Paddy Scannlon and Smith sold it, and went into partnership in a bar in Willmersdorfer str direction , can't remember the name
First saw Kilkenny in Germany in 1992, I was told is was because the Germans couldn't pronounce Smithwicks and it was the same. In the Late 90's Kilkenny was huge in Ireland along with Caffreys Ale which were both like a creamy Smithwicks then they disappeared in the early 2000's you could also get Bass in most pubs that too has disappeared although as it was Berties favourite I think you can still get it in the Goose in Drumcondra.
Totally agree with the Murphys and Beamish - Murphys is really nice, very drinkable for me. Beamish was had too much power 🤣 and i just couldn't get on board with the flavour profiles
Lord I’m ‘homesick’ for Ireland Irish pubs and good Guinness after being there last year. I can hardly find a decent widely available Porter or Stout in the states anymore. Kilkenny from the tap In Ireland is a nice change up too. Slainte
Murphy's and Kilkenny are actually lovely pints. Better than Guinness. Great video by the way, especially because I'm going to Germany soon! Weird coincidence
Recently me and my friends did road trip in Finland from Helsinki all the way up to Rovaniemi in lapland. In every city we where in we went to an Irish Pub and had a guinness they were all rotten 😂 You should do Rovaniemi in the winter as there were a few Irish Pubs up there and id say its probably one of the most northern pints of guinness you can get in the world
Would it be a shout to include a bar snack into the review. What crisps and peanuts do they have, what pairs well. Can’t beat a pack of dry roasted, not sure if Germany would be into that
Was in the Kilkenny the night Germany beat Ireland in a World Cup qualifier back in 2013. Turns out that Germany side was pretty good lol…. Won the World Cup 9 months later.
Guess whos back .... Back again . Gurus back ... Tell a friend 😮.. gwannnnn the gura ... Yeppppp paaaaaa ✓✓✓ the public have spoken... Bring the guru back
Those trains? They’re like the ones they’ve been promising in Dublin since Christ was a corporal! Many people walk, but many also take these because Berlin is huge. Taxis are for the weekend when you’re too tired and hammered to find a train. 😉
Reviewing Guinness? I thought Wolverine coming back would be the best return of the week.
Felt there was so much more energy in this video than some of the recent ones. Really enjoyed it!
Might be one of the best videos you've ever done

I really like spaten it's a great German beer. What is you're favorite?
Yes Daragh, head to Munich next time (Just don’t tell anyone you’re in Germany as this is Bavaria).

Loved this video, keep on trying the Guiness and others, love the reviews.
Going to Germany for Guinness is like going to Italy for steak and kidney pudding. Good video though 🍻

Great to have you back reviewing Guinness!
Heading to Berlin next month. Gunna keep this in mind ahah
And Corkman here, Beamish is rotten.
Love Kilkenny Cream Ale 🍺

Great video love watching you go round pubs rating pints. Nice to see you trying different ones. You should go rate some german and belgian beers
Por fin de vuelta con las reviews de Guinness 😉
Se agradecería que pusieras en el vídeo el precio de la pinta.
Un saludo!!
Sipping a pint of Guiness in Berlin listening to The Velvet Underground in the background, cant think of a better day!
This is the best style of video you do just reviewing pints

One of your best videos, I think it would be really cool if its okay with the pubs to do pan over shots of the pubs.
Recently recommended a pub in Berlin to an Irish friend of mine. He went there and said that it was a great pint. The Irish Pub in the Europa Center.

Go to Budapest. The pints are decent in the Irish pubs as they are run and owned by Irish

inflations really gone crazy when the 2021 temple bar price of €6.80 is now "not bad"😭

People forget that 1910 -1942 Berlin was hopping. An incredible city with a great connection to Ireland funny enough. Heidelberg next Darragh
Absolutely mad choice of years there, including the first world War, the rise of hitler and half the second world war
@mrchomet known as the years of good craic by most Germans iirc.
You should go on a whiskey testing. Are try Dublin whiskey live. There is alot of nice whiskey

Get on them German wheat beers
ive just moved to London from derry and why are all the pints of Guinness so fucking sweet! even in the Irish pubs!
killkenny is a red ale, same as smitwicks, it is just poured with nitrogen same as guinness!

Hamburg has a couple of spots serve a nice pint ....play your cards right and ya can catch a St Pauli game
Loving your work. Please don't go back to mulligans in Manchester they keep jacking up the price. 😂
Great video Daragh!
Absolutely love Berlin
I hear Berghain do a great pint of Guinness
😂😂😂 if you know you know
Beamish is way better than Murphy's. Easiest test is to buy a can of each and properly taste test them. Beamish has character. Murphy's is bland.
Murphy's has started to pop up again in a few pubs in the uk
That's good news.
The Original, and still the best !
I'm surprised that you are not aware of the 'Children of Lir', from Irish mythology.
I was in Thailand back in early March £9 a pint of Guinness.
Been too long since I've been in Berlin but it's just a brilliant city. Always found it one of the cheaper European capitals.
