I had many Duals 1019,1219,1229.1229q. superb craftmanship , they say today they wouldn't be as godd as current turntables, I say no , they were precise,the catridges back then would track at 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 grams today they are 1 3/4 to 2 1/2 grams I wish i had kept my Duals. i think to build same quality today would be 4x as much 12 to 1500 dollars plus you could use it manually or auto , the muting circuit would cut in during arm movement so totally quiet
This custom case for your Dual 1229 is GORGEOUS! I like the convenient location of the phono cables at the back, looks like you spaced them out a bit too so they can accommodate newer cables with thicker casings. I really like the chrome feet you put on it and the vent on the bottom. Very nice. Who did this work? Can I order one and move my table into it? Sure would be nice to have a good on an actual hinge. The OE hood is lose and just kind of rests against a wooden rail.

I have same modelle at home. I really love it's sound. To get sound better, I want to fix a disc stabiliser on the platter. İs a heavy weight disc ( 600 gr) too much on the platter? Any recommendation please!
