Just so you guys know, this also works in journey mode! I had a bit of trouble with the eye fight, so I moved to journey mode and activated God mode and it worked!

I'll try to make a tutorial on the easiest way to beat the eye without getting hit using only a copper shortsword, as that is definitely the hardest part. If you are going for this item, then keep on trying. The reward is 100% worth it.

This item has another secret ability if you put the zenith in your trash slot then put the short sword in then take it out I’ve will give you 1,000,000 defense
Also if you defeat moonlord no hit copper short sword only no armor no wings or accessories no potions no mounts no wires or teleport things/ pilons and teleporter with no rod of discord with no asphalt in a small world you get an upgraded one of this weapon

Years ago I saw a video on how to get a terrablade on mobile at the beginning of the game by throwing a copper shortsword and 15 mushrooms into a chest, leaving the world, then coming back. This didn't work so I was a bit skeptical but after 4 hours of attempts I finally did it! Thanks for sharing this INSANE easter egg!!
By the way, this weapon has a summoning counterpart. If you do the same thing, but with a broken blowpipe in the chest instead and using a blowpipe to kill EoC gives you a legendary blowpipe that you can change the settings to use it as a regular ranged superweapon, or use it as a summoning item to summon a blowpipe hovering around you that shoots bullets dealing tens of thousands of damage! Also this works with wand of sparking, but its the most powerful out of all of these by far and so indescribably amazing you HAVE to try it yourself, you basically become daytime EoL.
I tried to cheese using summons. But that doesn't work and it doesn't count with that. So you HAVE to only use copper sword only. Not broad sword either.
the upgraded copper shortsword is cool for sure, but the copper shortsword gun is even cooler it uses copper shortswords as ammo, and every time the projectile strikes an enemy, it multiplies the copies will also multiply until the sheer amount of projectiles crashes the game its a pretty cool functionality and very useful against bosses like the torch god
After countless attempts, I finally completed the Eye of Cthulhu hitless. And I must say, this weapon's DPS is rather amazing. The AoE potential with the multi target really adds to the weapon. And well I don't think it quite compares to something like a Legendary Tin Shortsword, it's still certainly a top 5 throwing class weapon.
works with the zenith too, but you have to defeat eoc hitless with every sword in it's crafting tree i think the devs ran out of challenging ideas with this update

Pro tip: use the pearlwood armour set while killing the Eye Of Cthulhu hitless to make your armour have 100% dodge chance
Don’t forget every accessory slot has to be filled with shoe spikes so you only need to hit the eye twice
And don’t forget about the added damage when you equip shiny red balloons in all of your other characters accessory slots.
And if you put a single ebonsand block in the 27th inventory slot you will get two copper short swords!

A good tip for getting some range with the shortsword is to use the expert drop from skeleton. This adds a bone projectile to some of your attacks

Since I usually play ranger I cant use the Copper Short Sword. But the good news is I can use the just as op Paper Planes which out DPS the SDMG.
