Hey there! For vlogging, you can increase your frame rate to 60 fps on the mark ii and 120 fps on the mark iii! For photos, make sure to have at least a 1/400 shutter!

Hey there! For this shot to work, you need to put the aperture or f-stop to about f5.6-f8 to make sure that everybody is in focus. Never take a group shot with an f 1.8 aperture, It will just blur everything that is not in the plane of focus.

Hey, Laura. Working with a ring light with these settings will help you a lot because with a ring light, you won't have to increase your ISO so much plus those halo catch light on the eyes will look so good with an f1.8 aperture!

I am filming talking head videos so, I sit in one spot and chat while filming my self doing a podcast. The problem is, my camera will lose focus on my face when it notices my hands moving, because I use my hands a lot when I talk. So, after doing the Settings that you shared 100% to the tea, I am still noticing there is a slight blur, and it’s trying to adjust I guess or focus on either my face or my hands I’m not sure but when I look at the film during editing, that’s when I noticed at the worst. I wonder how I can fix this do you have any suggestions?
Heya! For videography using the G7X II, the autofocus is accurate enough given sufficient lighting and it also helps if you shoot in a scene with a not so busy background. If you're worried about focusing problems, then I suggest you to frame your shot, set focus then switch off autofocus.
@@markfriday Are you referring to the mark III or the mark II here? I know the mark II has good autofocus, was just asking about whether the mark III's autofocus is good enough after the firmware upgrade as I prefer the photos taken by the mark III. Thanks!
@@Little3888 oh, I meant for both the mark II and III. The autofocus system installed in both bodies are very similar in terms of build and software. I didn't notice much difference with the III.
Yes! The main point of having a camera like this would be its portability! I find myself bringing this out more than my bigger cameras because of just how convenient it is!

Hi Moniqua, the setting explained in this video is for vlogging/ video. If you are doing photos, some settings will be different. White balance will be the same. But others have to be adjusted according to what you are shooting. For reference Shutter speed for portraits or sth stationary can be 1/125 - 160 ISO - sunny day 100-200, cloudy day 400, indoor 800-1600 etc Aperture depends on your composition, need bokeh or not, f/1.8 has more bokeh, f/22 has no bokeh at all. Hope this helps!

Hey, Uncle Dave! I don't suggest using any soft skin modes because those greatly degrade final image quality. I'd rather tweak those in editing.

Yes! If you stay at the widest zoom focal length then you'll be able to use f1.8 which will allow you to blur the background!
