    Hi there, thanks for your video; that's really helpful.
    I had a similar problem. The AT light went on four times, and it happened three times while I was driving. The AT and engine lights just came on, but I didn't feel anything. The AT light disappeared when I pulled over and restarted the engine.
    I went to the workshop and got the codes P0758 twice and P0768 once saved in the computer. However, when the mechanic read the real data from the car, everything seemed normal.
    They checked the wiring in the hood (not sure which one😂), but they didn't check the wiring to the TCM because they would have to remove the battery, which would add more labor cost.
    They suggest that if the wiring connected to the TCM is normal, they will have to check the solenoid in the gearbox, but this will be very expensive. However, I think it's likely an issue with the TCM. I would appreciate your suggestion on this matter.

      @@tafadzwamakuvire8465 I bought a OBD scanner, and delete error code, and it doesnt back for 3 weeks so far. I think it more likely due to the TCM, and its the computer thing, not due to the bad solenoid.

    Is $1400 a good price for mazda 3 2008 that could have one or all bad wirehardness, solenoids,and tcm. The owner dad replaced the transmission and afterwards the issues in video is happening, it won't go out of 3rd gear. What would be a fair price? Would i need to check the whole wirehardness or just do what's in the video?

      Not a bad price for a vehicle that has a good running engine, trans, and decent body and tires. Start with ohming out circuits

    Is it possible to have an intermittent problem? My daughter’s car is and 08 Mazda 3 with this code. Did all the tests and everything was good. Had 2.6 ohms on first test, went o/l on second test and had 4.96 volts on last test. When I drive her car it works good for about 10 minutes and then it starts shifting hard and sets the code.

    Hi I have a 2010 Mazda 3 with 70k miles. I scanned the code and it only showed P0758. Seems to drive okay but has hard engagements. Do you think it can be the solenoid or tcm. I didn’t see a tcm code tho

      Most common is tcm. The position the tcm sits in the vehicle allows to to much heat. We will relocate tcm to firewall to keep temp down on tcm

    Hi. Sorry about the long message but I would really appreciate your help because I don’t want to spend a lot of money on this if not necessary. I have a 2015 Mazda 3, it has about 69k miles. The issue we had originally was that when we would take it past like 20 mph the car would kind of jump like it was being forced to accelerate, it was almost like it was in neutral, or it had the emergency brake on and that later turned into the car not wanting to move at all. It would just kind of idle and I’d have to turn it off and back on again to get it to move.. We’ve tried changing the battery, we’ve changed the transmission fluid and none of those things really worked. We’ve taken it to a couple shops and everyone says it’s the transmission but we spoke to an individual mechanic and he doesn’t think it’s the transmission, he thinks it’s something electronic or maybe some thing with the shifter solenoid because when we switched it to manual it was driving more smoothly, it was just not consistently recognizing what gear it was in. Any advice?

    • @johnandeddie
      @johnandeddie  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Scan for codes and watch data stream making sure everything external is ok. If so you may have a internal trans concern.

    In my 2008 Mazda 3, the transmission connector splits off into two separate connectors. One looks just like the one in this video, but then 5 wires go off to a different connector. Should I unplug them both to test the circuit? I also don't have any yellow wire to test the computer. You wouldn't happen to know how to find a schematic or something that would tell me which wire goes to solenoid B, would you?

    • @johnandeddie
      @johnandeddie  ปีที่แล้ว

      Try unplugging and testing, Google wire diagram

      Thank you for your reply! I was able to find the wire with that diagram, and ultimately decided to just send the TCM off for repair. Put it back in two days ago and so far it seems to have solved the issue! Thanks so much for posting this diagnostic tutorial!! So glad it could be a $375 repair instead of the cost of replacing the solenoid.

    Hey, I have a 2007 Mazda 3 2.3L and was getting code P0758. It had hard shifting when moving the gears through park reverse and drive and something was smoking. A friend who’s a mechanic said it’s 98% my TCM.
    So I put a brand new one in and now I’m getting P0757. P0758 isn’t there anymore, and the shifting isn’t as rough when cycling through the gears in park. The RPM’s go to about 4500 when changing from 2,3,4 and lost any acceleration in 4th gear while driving like it was in neutral.
    P0757 & 8 both are solenoid B codes do you think my TCM was fine and I have another problem or what do you think is going on?

    My 2010 Mazda3 is throwing P0753 solenoid A. If I follow your procedures there, what spot on the tcm harness for I use to ohm out solenoid A to test it?
    I sent in my tcm to get repaired, got it back and it's still doing the same stuff if not worse, shifting harsh in drive/reverse and won't shift past third gear. So either my shift solenoid is actually bad, or they didn't fix the tcm properly

It revs real high and shifts really hard especially putting it in reverse and drive. The 2004 have no tcm, I ordered a new ecm should that fix my problem? If the AT light is on it should have a transmission code in the system. Otherwise your problem could be related to either the pcm or one of the speed sensors (not sure how many there are on that model). Don't rule out the possibility of an internal transmission issue as well. Let us know what you find out.

    I have a Mazda 3 (HB) 2009 1.6L, today I was driving the vehicle and suddenly AT & Check Engine light came on. Gear stuck on 3, I reached home. Turned off my car then turned on shifted to D at this point gear Num was 1 I didn't move my car but gear went to 2nd within 2Sec. My car doesn't have a TCM. So what could be the cause. TF level is good, changed AT strainer a month ago. On OBD I received P0758, Shift Solenoid B Electrical. Cleared the code to reconfirm and it popped up again. Shift to R makes harder, upshifting from 2 to 3 not so hard but down shifting does. Pls help.

    I hate these fl and 4l Ford transmission, I have tried to fix them and the only real way is to do a complete overhaul which is expensive.
    My suggestion check your transmission plug connector, then check your shift selector below it to make sure it's not broke, then use Ford scan to check transmission pressure and lock up if solenoids go crazy then they are failing or losing pressure. Check your internal filter.
    The solenoids go bad, the valve bodies warp, the piston drum leak, the clutch packs burn up. The servo bore wears causing the 3-4 issue.
    The TCM fail.
    Good old ford garbage.
