Great info! I’m local out side of Sugarland and so glad that I can listen to a local farmer about our weather!!! So dahlias…. I’ll say I grew them from seed indoors in December and had at least 8-12” plants by end of Feb and they did surprisingly well! Not the show pieces from the northern climates but still were beautiful! I’m growing some more indoors now and see how they do in the fall as a trial! Looking forward to visiting your farm! 🌸🌺

@doramaldonado4460 Glad to hear they worked out well for you! Maybe that's the trick. I've done tubers and planted early but overall they've been disappointing. Not enough reward for me!

The lemon and cinnamon basil make a nice tea.

It's my first time growing dahlias here in San Diego Zone 9b/10a. Our heat came on much sooner than usual this year so the dahlias have stalled.

@@summerskyegardens Had the tubers been delivered mid-February rather than mid-March, they might have had a better chance.

I’m so glad I found this! We live south of Houston and I can never find information for my area! We also had damage from the hurricane and no power for a week. I’m glad to hear you made it through ok. Thanks for the video! Just wondering if you have a farm that I can visit with a storefront or do you mainly grow things for other people. I’d love to come talk to you sometime and learn some things.

Roses are a love/hate painful issue. Heirloom, hard pruning after blooms, and focus on bareroot / ownroot varieties for easy successful personal propagation🎉

Thanks for this awesome video! Can't wait to come to the You Pick in September! Trying to grow lizzies from seed this year in Houston (might as well try since I am a home gardener and don't need 300+ plants). Which varieties did you choose? I was planning on putting them out ~ November and I purchased Voyage and Arena 3 Gold. Maybe I will wait until a bit later based on your recommendations...

Your customer comes first. Not sure if l would have let the bread and butter down. You’re in a major growth situation and you will always be able to produce bouquets this time of the year. You pick is a recipe for disaster and not conducive to time and safety management in a retail situation.
