I'm not a flower farmer but watching you is what convinced me to give gardening a go. And tulips were tried this year and i'm in love. Sunlover are like giant buttercups and the frilly ones are amazing and the way the stem curls while standing up to get the most sun. Did I happen to say I'm in love. Next year I will have to be restrained to not go overboard. If there was only such a thing as guerrilla tulip planting. I think they should be everywhere. They get us through that long period before true spring arrives.

I have deeply planted tulips around my yard that will remain, but maybe I'll order some doubles to plant as annuals in my raised-bed flower garden. I really want to have bouquets indoors.

I also love the bouquet making videos. That is what made me fall in love with you & your channel... You, being on the porch, "talking to us" about things that you're doing on the farm, things you're doing with your family, all while doing what you love to do- making bouquets... & then always learning something about cutflowers as you throw in little tidbits of information. It helped me to learn So much when I was 1st learning about cut flowers. You always throw in information while you are making bouquets like how to harvest specific flowers, What cut flowers benefit from being pinched, etc. Or just seeing you making the bouquets was beneficial for beneficial for me when deciding what cut flowers I wanted to experiment with the following year... It's hard to tell from a little picture on picture on the Internet sometimes if I am going to like something but whenever I see it in someone's video in a bouquet it's a lot more helpful

Weird sense of humor!? Apparently I’m also weird because I laugh out loud on every one of your videos. I may or may not have even snorted a few times. Your B roll clips at the end are so much fun as well! Keep being you, there’s plenty of us weirdos that appreciate it! It’s funny, if I ever had to pick a flower that I detested most of my life it was tulips (no idea why, maybe they’re too perfect). Then I got into gardening and in November I grabbed a beautiful rich purple and white mix with some frilly edges(super technical, I know) and now I can’t stop looking at them!!! I think it was called triumph Venetian plush. Thank you for opening my eyes to the beauty of tulips!

I love your weird sense of humor
I am stoked for the Dave Dowling video!!! Also, I appreciate all the tulip tips and tricks. I find tulips to be the hardest to harvest. They are so high maintenance. So super temperature sensitive!!! I had a harder time than normal this year harvesting them at the right stage. I feel like they went from not quite ready to harvest, to way past time to harvest in a matter of hours, during our warm spell. I suspect anything I dont get out of the ground tomorrow, are done for, as it is hitting the mid 80s here in NH for a few days later this week. Guess I roll home after this ER night shift, and just grab a pitchfork. Sleep can wait.

I also planted Kings Blood tulips in my front flowerbed and they put on such a beautiful show! Plus they opened later than my Big Ups ones so it was great to still have them going in May. Love your videos and watching your journey!
I planted loads of tulips last Fall. We had such a dry winter that most of them have 2 inch stems at the most. And our weather has been so cold and crazy so they are a month late in blooming. 🙁

Your tulips are gorgeous! I planted early, mid, and late tulips. We had the heat on until Mother’s Day. Today it hit 90 and upper 80’s the rest of the week. They’re all blooming at once and blowing out fast. 😖

So many pretty tulips! 😍 I’m curious…on those pink ones that opened before you got to them. Will you keep them in the ground and reuse the bulbs next year since you didn’t pick them?
I think 'Uncle Tom' is actually a deep velvety red color. Your double yellow tulip might be something like 'Yellow Springgreen' or one of the others, very hard to ID without a list.
You're probably right! Uncle Tom might be the variety NEXT to the yellow I'm harvesting- OR I got mislabeled bulbs. It happens a LOT

I don’t think it’s because you drink tooooooo much coffee that makes you so hyper…….it’s because you have a condition that makes you out of control……something that you need medication for. You are amazing to know so much about your beautiful flowers, and you want to give folks beautiful bundles of delight, but it’s hard to endure your videos because of your total hyperactivity actions!

We had coldest and worst spring and worst start of year ever. Everything went wrong 😑 my tulips just started to grow and or mini size - I was thinking if I’m going to leave them in ground until they died un them take bulbs out and replant in autumn - could they do better next year ? Some even doesn’t form blooms

How do you dry store dafs? And how long will they keep in a cooler?
Please can you say how long you think tulips need from leaving the refrigerator to being presentable for sale? Mine took a full 24 hours last weekend. They looked weak and undesirable until I got home from market when they began to look fabulous! I ended up having to hang the lot for drying!!!
How did you get such perfect timing for having all the tulips and daffodils to be ready by Mother's Day? Mine have the leaves up but the steam and bulb are not showing yet. I planted a bunch in my flower bed last fall. Maybe I didn't plant them early enough, or I need to have them growing in greenhouse to get them ready by Mother's Day. Alberta is a 3b to a 4, depending on the mood. This morning, I woke up to snow.

Heyy! Did you start your early sunflowers? I have a bunch that are doing pretty well North of you! Apparently they can handle a light frost!? 🤯 I've been keeping them in the polytunnel for the cooler nights tho. Can't wait for early blooms 🌻
Yes, I did. They are still in the grow room though. Not in the ground yet!

Oh my goodness that towel must be 15 years old. I do believe it was a JC Penney purchase shortly after we were first married!
