$1,000,000 really? A singer is around $350,000, is this really 3 singers? A Ruf ctr anniversary is £800,000 even a Carrera GT is $750,000 as is a 73 2.7 RS Lovely car but look at the alternatives and the value they offer!
@@888mattd But you can 'theoretically' order a Singer for $350k. Then up to you which options you want but Singer comes with a Cosworth engine and I would hope rock solid residuals. 5001 may produce great cars but at the end of the day its a tuner / hotrod 911 and in the UK Paul Stephens, Tuthill and 911 Rennsport offer these for £120k - £200k. hands down the best car channel for enthusiasts. love how henry can actually drive. not to mention the production value. absolutely fantastic as always.
If you really want to experience the magic of an old 911 you should just buy a nice condition 911 and enjoy the journey through your own modifications towards YOUR definition of a pure 911 driving experience.
If anything I find it refreshing that it presents itself as so un-pretentious. The type of look that Singer goes for, Singer has already perfected. Copying them would've achieved nothing, and going more extreme would've made it brash and overly cartoonish, which doesn't work either.
that's it in a nutshell and Singer has 964 chassis dynamics (plus) and an all but assured market cred and value. this, looks like a nice little one-of with $2000 dampers and a spendy factory metal rear. : )
Why chose a '72.. because it was a 1 year only mistake and it sets you apart from the other 60,000 early 911s. It is why people are foaming over paint codes and new 911s paint to match is so popular
That's how I'd feel ....I have a 996 and a 72 911 would be a great addition expecially in such an amazingly nice running one at that... I just don't have 1,000,000 for it
Prices put aside, you guys know how to captivate a petrolhead. Massive props to the film guys, a deep bowl to Harry of course, but that has been noted repeatedly. The drama and intensity of the shots is insane! Everything comes together in these films
This pretty much reminds me of a marketing/strategic game we played in economics class. The goal was to develop sales and marketing strategies and we were the only group to find out that a portion of customers could be triggered by quality and especially by price, so we erased the concurrence. As long as quality was the best on the market, you could ask for any price you want and it would sell a lot. Guess it's was the classic 911 market is right now. As long as its good quality and unique, it's worth almost infinite money. Well, it's not, but people wait in lines to pay much more than that. Good for the people in the business, I would prefer to work on a great unique car for 6 months than on small restorations for less money.
The owner was very very generous for letting this even happen. Video aside, I love his writing, sharing that when you start specing it out in your head, you know you’re hooked. Brilliant.
I can't question the quality of work here. I'm just, surprised at the price. While also wondering, how nervous did you get driving that car in those California hills?
I think this is more raw, a bit more involving to fully extract that pure 911 joy. that sound is mesmerizing!!. THIS is by far the best re-imagining of the fabled 911.
This is an era of vehicle that doesn’t interest me whatsoever, yet I thoroughly enjoyed this video and watching Henry chuckle away. Brilliant video Henry, first class.
They did amazing work on this car. Kudos for that. The beech wood splitter is evidence they don't really do this from knowledge, but from pure marketing. Beech is used under F1 cars, yes, but as a wear component that is covered with titanium to produce those sparks. There is no advantage to using it on a spliter that will never drag the ground. It's not a big deal, but it's a small detail that indicated this is a car designed from a whiteboard rather than from a deep understanding or knowledge. $1 million price is the final evidence.
You’ve really outdone yourself with the excellent camera work, color grading, and editing on this episode. Combine that with the excellent mic-work…this video was a real treat for the senses.
Your films ARE perfection Henry and these days, you are certainly getting around. But.. $1M for this.? Purlease.!? I'd settle for a basic 992, then send it to Ian Litchfield and get it fettled, subtle and sorted. And only you and I would know.! Excellent. Shhhh.. WF
Loved the video. The presentation was spot on as usual, the camera angles and the way the light danced on the body panels; just perfect cinematography and editing. I do just want to add a secondary comment I hope you agree with. You do say that new comers should subscribe and we should all share, however I keep finding myself forgetting to like or leave comments with your videos. As a long time subscriber to your channel, I really want the poor souls out there who have not seen these masterpieces that you and the team produce, to have the chance to experience true "Carfection". The reason I'm saying all this is all the other channels that are growing so fast seem to remind the forgetful bunch to leave there comments and like the video, this most of the time reminds me at the end of the video if there was something I wanted to comment about or if I believed the video deserved a like. These comments and like are more likely to get the TH-cam algorithm to recognise your content and suggest it to more people around the world. I'm not saying you don't already know this, but what I am saying is sometimes the reminder is a nice touch. This is not a negative comment at all I love what you and the team do and somehow find myself enjoying every video more than the last.
While I appreciate and genuinely enjoy Carfection content, I don't think this video did the car justice. It just felt like the same action clips from the same vantage over and over. I would have really liked to hear more about how they engineered the car, the material list, etc.
Great video and great camera work. As great as the car looked I don’t see how it cost that amount. When you look at a Singer you can see why it costs what it does.
I would rather have this over a singer but obviously I don’t have the money but I don’t even need the 1 million dollar one. There are other builds at 2-5 which is still very expensive but I just love the understatement and beauty of (work shop 5001). He is a particular CEO and builder, he has his simplicity vision and I like that!
very nice Pcar. super pricey though. but I like it. oh, and Henry, which wristwatch are you wearing this episode? can you wear it on the left wrist in future episodes? Thanks!
Goldberg previously worked at Singer and decided he can do it worse and charge more. The price tag is what made us all lick on this vid and he knows that's what'll get people talking about his company. Goldberg has managed to finesse some poor(Rich) sucker.
Splendid machinery in a classic body! As I recall, 911's of this era still were 'tail heavy' at speed and needed careful driving. What did Workshop 5001 do to improve that?
What a beautiful car and road. What road is it BTW? I recently rented a 2015 Cayman GTS to drive Mulholland and it was closed. We found another road but not as nice as the one your on! Thank you for another great piece.
Having watched this for a third time, to me, this suspension is wonderful, corners so flat and points so well, looks like a great chassis, but I think I prefer the Singer"s engine note and exhaust. At the beggining of the video: WHAT? 1million dollars? Are they serious? It's not worth it. At the end of the video: WOW, I want it right now, it's an absolute masterpiece! What a machine...🤤

And the best part these are not backdates 👍
Great video as usual Henry. Thank you. There must be some very rich people out there if they would part with $1,000,000 to recapture some piece of the past. I’d buy a new Gt2 RS, a Caterham and bank the rest.
