The fact that adversity only made her stronger. Also, her studying law while holding another job resonated with me personally as I did that myself. What a courageous woman she is taking the cause of the downtrodden! This interview made me cry.
Thank you for making space for the voices that you don't agree with in entirety. Now more than ever, in the time of cancel culture, it's important for people to see people who disagree without losing respect and admiration for one another. Faye for PM.
Truly a great choice of interview subject. Her story is really inspirational and truly heroic, both she and her husband who continue to be idealists in the face of the system and during this age where we are seeing systemic decay and rot. Thank you for sharing this. If possible get YP Singh also and interview him. Kudos, Faye. You're doing a great job
Stupendous Aabha Ma'am, your identity reflects your name, Today's India is in dire need of people like you.... Thanks much Faye for streaming this conversation... Proud to be a Lucknowite👏🏻👏🏻
What a wonderful chat. If we had even 1000 Abha Singh's in our country it would bring change to the society. Feel so proud & good that such women are Indians.
What an interview Faye, and what a journey, especially the second half, her work after she acquired a law degree. There's so much muck people like her can expose. I wish we had more like her in the system. Thank you for introducing a woman like her.
Faye❤ I cannot thank you enough for bringing Abha Singh on your platform. I cannot tell you how much her words mean to me.. her story of struggle, losses, and eventual victories, it just touched something inside me.
If media could tell such stories everyday, to teach lessons, inspire, give new perspectives, then people would not be clueless, & prone to polarization.
Times have changed, but unfortunately, women's trials and tribulations haven't changed a lot; what an inspiration Abha Singh is! Thank you, and congratulations on this wonderful, inspiring conversation, Faye! More power to you two.💙
Faye you are bringing back the art of the interview ! What a deeply complex woman your guest is. Please do more interviews with fascinating people like her who are not household names. She has seen everything and it is so refreshing to see a conversation between 2 extremely intelligent and articulate people who may not agree on everything but search for the truth together.
I knew Abha Singh as a lawyer from Salman's case. I never knew her background story of once being a righteous civil servant and her struggles as every other woman and as a career woman too. Great interview Faye. 🎉🎉
This lady knew about UPSC exam in 1987.Despite being a graduate at that time many of us knew only about banking exam. Our environment taught us movies, language, politics etc which was just useless.
What a fabulous, heroic, ambitious woman ! Those few seconds of vulnerability -when her voice cracked revealed the hard work, pain, courage and sacrifice she and her family experienced through those years. My salaams to you ma'am !
If only we would give 1/2 importance given to 'celebrities & their wedding' to heroic individuals like Abha Ma'am we'd have been a different society 💫 Thank you Faye for bringing us her story
This podcast is a perfect example of " Freedom of expression " in its correct sense. It give hope to all those honest citizens, who find themselves in hopeless situation, while dealing with corrupt individuals. This type of inspiring interview is the need of the hour. Hats of to you both for keeping honesty & integrity alive, in a society that is sinking in corruption...😊
Two True women of Substance! A BIG Thank you Faye for bringing us this insight into the life of this countrys" True Angel of Justice!" It's a reality check into realizing nobody's life is a bed of roses ! Hardships are part and parcel of everyones day to day but how you rise above it is what matters! Bravo Abha!!! Abhay Singh IS the poster child for Selflessness in all its glory!
This video needs to be made part of the curriculum and orientation in schools, universities, work places etc. What a feel good journey, Abha. Thanks to Faye for having the patience of a saint and letting Abha just speak her mind. Gem of a content in recent months. God bless.
@Faye D’Souza I am a huge fan of your channel and you. Kudos to you and your team for giving us such great content. I thoroughly enjoyed watching this interview. It is so refreshing to listen to Ms. Abha Singh. The woman is so courageous, brilliant and ferocious orator. We need more women leaders like Ms. Abha Singh and mam I became a fan of yours after seeing this interview. Thank you for being you and thank you for fighting for justice. Lots of respect to you and to your family. Namaste!
Another excellent interview, Faye. It's refreshing to watch a conversation where the guest is given the space to express themselves freely, without the interviewer overshadowing the discussion. Abha Singh’s tenacity and strong sense of social responsibility are truly admirable. We need more people with her conviction. However, I still respectfully disagree with her stance on not defending rapists or terrorists, as I believe in the principle that everyone is innocent until proven guilty. Labeling individuals without a legal conviction can hinder their right to a fair trial and challenge our ability to uphold justice as a society. Thanks for continually bringing such thought-provoking guests.
What an inspiring journey. Despite having two little kids, her husband fought for justice. They both left their jobs to pursue law and fight for whats right. Amazing. These are the kinds of stories that inspire, move and being out the REAL struggle of an average Indian.
Faye, all my life so far I have seeked women who are everything that Abha Singh is because I want to see women I can identify with, those who are unabashedly themselves, successful and honest and warm and proud of their trajectory. They have been hard to find, which often put me in a dilemma about if the way I am is “too much”. This conversation was beyond inspiring, it was validating. Such an incredible conversation. And thank you for asking such good questions ❤
What a lovely interview! How inspiring is Abha Singh’s story and how well u have presented it Faye! I chose to stay back in the hotel in London and not accompany fam on an outing - just because this was so gripping & interesting- I had to finish watching it!!👌😊so much love ❤️ to both of you ‘real women’👏👏🙌❣️
This was such an empowering and encouraging talk. Her pride in Integrity, Honesty & Education shines through!!! If we ever feel lonely and sad we can come back to this.
Respect to both Abha Ma'am and Faye. Such an inspiring conversation. Thank you for sharing with us your story Abha Ma'am and Faye for bringing her to this show. Could relate to many aspects like failure is the learning curve and fighting for what is right in the face of adversity. Thanks once again!
What a great interview Faye, thank you Abha Singh for speaking for being so transparent and true. I loved listening to you. Wish both of you every success in your missions.
This was indeed a very eye opening interview in many ways. Lot of power vibes that came out of this. Importance of law, dynamics of marriage and the need for women to understand their rights. So much more of this is required for our country. Please interview more such people Faye. Loved it. I also agree with Abha Mam on her point that the AIB roast was crass and especially objectifying on the lines of women and sexual interpretations. ( I paused the interview and revisited those bits) Indeed we need to be more sensitive of who we are as a larger Indian society and not blindly follow western culture because it's cool and sounds fun. Art and specifically comedy in this case is amazing when done tastefully. Zakir Khan is a case in point. A comedian with sensibility of the Indian audience who I don't think I've ever heard thus far crossing the line in being mindlessly abusive or sexual just to make people laugh.
OMG ! this is so inspiring - brought tears to my eyes alongwith her ; Made me sit up and listen to each word ; whenever a woman is in low spirits, she should watch this ;hats off to her husband and thank god for her
Love you Faye❤you are the best.Great interview.Just keep bringing such guests👍🏼The best part is your experience reflects while interacting with your guest.
I wish I could meet her some day!! This is so inspiring! Goes on to proof how a woman can play so many roles successfully once she makes up her mind!!! Hats off to her!!! I so agree with the fact that women often don't have the money to afford a lawyer and even if they somehow manage to, there's no guarantee that they will not be cheated by their own male/female lawyers!!! I have faced it first hand and was shocked to see the mask falling off!!! Thank you for sharing your insights, you made my day ma'am! We need more of you! Thank you so much Faye, it's a pleasure listening to you!!!
Loved the interaction. Abha mam is so articulate and sincere in her response. Got to know her 4 yrs ago when she supported Rhea Chakraborty against the whole TRP media. Have so much respect for her for being brute honest and sticking to only legal facts. Pls try to cover the status of Sushant Singh Rajput case sometime in ur channel.
Thank you Abha .. for drawing attention to the way women have to negotiate life to stay true to themselves and their calling... Your sharing resonated with me and so many other women I am sure...
Love watching this video on Honestly ❤ It’s wonderful to meet n listen Abha mam Yes! Iron Lady in true sense Honest person like her is like a gem 💎 in today’s corrupt polluted world God bless u both 🙏🙌
Great. Eye opener. I had worked with you in EDI custom. YP is my Role Model and my hero. I read his Books. Master piece. I m still fighting my case since 1987. I argued in person before HC Bombay.
One of my favourite movie is "Erin Brockovich" but this real life story is more Deep, Moving and Inspiring!! We need more individual like Abha Singh Ma'am.
Thank you for doing this interview. It is very inspiring to listen to life stories from courageous women like her. PS: it’s also refreshing to listen to a non-celebrity interview.
Just existing-yes, that's what we’re doing. We go about our daily routines, run our errands, and show up for the people who matter. Oh yes, we are indeed alive. But it’s just another piece of news-a distant city, another girl, another Nirbhaya. And yet, here we are, merely alive, attending to our duties and chores. What power do we have to change the laws? Who are we, until it strikes closer to home, or in our own homes? Until then, we simply exist. Let’s keep living and witnessing one heinous crime after another. After all, we’re just alive. (Change the law for the betterment of society . Not an appeal it’s an order from the citizens of India )
This was one of the most inspiring conversations I've ever had! What part of Abha Singh's life inspired you the most?
The constant urge of not giving up and stading by the values
The fact that adversity only made her stronger. Also, her studying law while holding another job resonated with me personally as I did that myself. What a courageous woman she is taking the cause of the downtrodden! This interview made me cry.
When she says, when one door closes there are 10 other doors.
Thank you for making space for the voices that you don't agree with in entirety. Now more than ever, in the time of cancel culture, it's important for people to see people who disagree without losing respect and admiration for one another. Faye for PM.
Waiting for full interview

We already have a beautiful word for ourselves, Lakhnawi. Let's not use the term which is a rip-off of Delhite
What a wonderful chat. If we had even 1000 Abha Singh's in our country it would bring change to the society. Feel so proud & good that such women are Indians.

Abha singh dared to quit customs, definitely lot of people mocked her. Really very brave decision.
