I think you got a good idea on where to stop with liner on the door frame. Thats where i stopped mine. The hard part is where to stop and make it look decent under the dash. Like next to the speaker or up the trans wall in the floor board. Or behind the seat where the sestbelt bolts in. Map it out and tape off!

Crap I hadn't even thought about that part yet lol. I guess I think out loud a lot in these videos and I was worried about being able to form it where the door recessed in and curves around the bottom. Once I saw those factory seams, it won't be an issue for that part. Guess I haven't looked at the other side of the door very closely, like the "A" pillar and such lol. One thing at a time, that's all my small brain can handle lol.

@FixLife119 you'll get ot worked out. Just some more to think about haha. Coming along good tho. I like the work with the bondo and other stuff to repair the floors. Long and tedious right now. But it will pay off in the end. Honestly, you will be like damn I have to cover all this up haha and it will just be a black floor!!!!

@@codywaldron505 Right, I just called it a night and got cleaned up. I was sanding by hand the last hour or so. The Bondo Glass is way way stronger than body filler bondo. Probably stronger than the steel given the thicknesses I'm using vs the sub 1mm steel Suzuki used. What's really biting me in the ass is all the dents that I created when I pounded on the floor to pop up the sound deadening (not sure if you saw that video with the dry ice?) I didn't realize I was leaving dents at the time but that floor is soooo thin they are everywhere! Hey thanks for the comments and thanks for your confidence and for watching :)

For starting your Samurai give this a try as your setup looks a lot like my Weber: Key to on position, press accelerator to the floor and let go, start the car. For me pressing the accelerator down sets the automatic choke and puts it in high idle when the engine is cold. I let it warm up for a few minutes and then tap the accelerator again to kick it back down to its normal idle. I know nothing about carbs but that's what my cars previous owner told me to do and your Weber looks a lot like mine. When I start up again after the engine is already warm I hold the accelerator down ~1/4 while I start it, fires right up every time.
I finally got my windshield wipers to work today after dropping the windshield for a second time today. Turns out it was actually the very first thing I had checked: the damn fuses. The fuses were fine which is what I had checked, they just weren't making a connection in the fuse box since the were corroded and loose. Its also the reason for my turn signals going in and out randomly. I may just re-do my whole fuse box with new connectors and new fuses so everything is connected well.
As far as seats go, I purchased the H bracket from Zuks Off Road, went to a local junkyard, and snagged some second row stow and go seats from a minivan. ZOR has a TH-cam video about it. I ended up finding a different model year than he recommends and they work as long as the bolt pattern lines up at the ~9.5 inch mark like he shows in his video. All in for new seats and the bracket I spent ~$200. Nice leather seats that are more comfortable than the stock seats I had and I couldn't be happier.

Oh man that sucks.... that's like one of the last things you'd check while troubleshooting too, I mean unless there's obvious signs of corrosion. No wonder you couldn't find the problem. I'm glad you found it though. I bet you're combo switch is totally fine then, but now you got a spare. As far as my choke I don't think it works like a normal one, I mean it doesn't set the high idle if I push it down like a normal choke. Only thing mine has is a wound up spring that attaches to the flapper deal inside the carb. It has coolant lines that run through it for heating up that spring but the thing runs so cool it never opens the thermostat. Luckily after its been running for about a minute it runs fine on its own. Pretty impressive little carb actually. That's cool you got that deal on your seats. The paint is starting to crack on my seats that I just painted, I'll show that in the next video. I'm having a hard time coming up with enough content for a video since all I'm doing is sanding/prepping the floors and it's boring.

Thanks for the shout out for the light! I’m famous now. Lol

Right. Tens of people will see that on my huge channel. Hopefully you wont get carpeltunnel from signing all the autographs lol. I'm not sure if all Harbor Freights have the same deals at the same time (I think they do, I get all their ads to my phone). Hopefully that newer version is just as durable. If you end up getting one let me know if you like it. I wouldn't mind having 2 of those lights. Plus it's like insurance, when you have a backup the original doesn't want to break, like the Bauer in this video lol.

@@FixLife119 yeah mine has it, saw the orher night but none left. Think they do that on purpose and have a sale knowing that they don’t have it ha ha.

@@jbullock5288 Probably lol. Mine sure is coming in clutch doing all this sanding at night. I should have just got that one when I was there, that's a good deal. Couldn't hurt to have a spare, I'm such a light nerd I have so many flashlights but you can't really aim them hands free(I need a tripod for my flashlights). I might go back and get that one. Talk me out of it. Everyone will be like..."you should have put that money towards a cheap HF welder!"

Hey, just a thought. If I ever had to replace the carpet in my Samurai, I decided that I'd go with EVA boat decking foam instead. I have it in my boat and also on the camping box I built for the back of my Samurai. It would insulate a bit, be super easy clean, and you'd have to do the same prep work as you're doing for the Herculiner. I know you're probably already committed to the liner, but if it didn't work out I'd be happy to talk to you about the foam. I may be able to hook you up with some just for the sake of the project. Anyways, good work so far...keep it up!

Oh cool, I never thought about something like that. Is that kinda like a gel coating with texture? I've already purchased the Herculiner kit but thank you very much for the sentiment, I really appreciate it.

Lol, I guess I've always been a little destructive. My dad used to say... "you're always Fing around" cuz I would kinda push things to their breaking point. I've gotten better with age... kinda... maybe not lol.

I appreciate you watching but I guess these videos aren't for everyone. This will never be a show vehicle. I'm trying to get it as nice as I can on a budget, teach people different ways of doing things that they might not have heard of, and add a little humor here and there. There's lots of channels where they have big budgets and restore them like new. Check out some SEMA builds, some of them are incredible. Thanks for watching, if you decide not to, I completely understand. Take care.

I'm sorry you don't like it. I've never done a series before. I'm not like a professional TH-camr, just trying to teach myself as I go.
