How does this process work when really close to the adjacent walls of the tank? Concerned about enough surface area for the weld at the corner. Thanks.
Well, I should by the end of the week have a more general plumbing video and I did install one of my fittings purposely as close as possible. With the hole cut pretty snug it seemed to generate enough friction to get a good puddle and no problems with a leak test, or when tightening the fitting in. Guess only time can truly tell, but initially it worked fine.
By the time I pay for those spin on bits/tools I can buy a new tank with all fittings and sensors already installed. I see them at around $200.00 or more a piece.
Great demo and the aslo the pitfalls of not using the plunge router base to stabilize the tool.
Never thought of using spin welding on plastic, but it clearly makes sense and is do-able at home. Thanks.
Awesome! I didn’t even know this way DIY possible. Thanks for sharing.
Thats a pretty cool idea! Thank you
Awesome process. Looks like these install tools could be made on a lathe in a home shop.
Damn! Wish I knew this before! Thank for your vid’s Always well Done
It's great, but the spin weld drivers are crazy expensive.
Great Video. What do you do about the sender? Do you spin weld something on to accommodate the screws?

Still much cheaper than a whole new tank.
How would you use a plunge router with a 3" fitting?
filter mask for you though! Don't breathe plastic if you can avoid it.
