Content specifically for editors is the most valuable information on TH-cam. So many people trying stupid shit just to go viral and “make it” as a TH-camr but nobody really putting in the effort to understand why different creators videos are better than others. This is genuinely my favorite content on TH-cam right now.
I'm calling it now. There's going to see a cultural shift in the way people produce content on this platform because of this man right here. We all saw it with Sam Kolder and how he made cinematic visuals and editing popular with travel videos. Then we saw Peter Mckinnon change the tutorial space with high quality cinematic visuals and editing as well. Now, Were about to see it again only this time with proper sound design, comedic timing and overall story telling
This was so good! David Dobrik is an awesome editor. I think his mom is an editor and his dad a photographer... very fitting that they made an excellent vlogger.
would LOVE to see a "how to edit a _____ video" for someone like Cody Ko, Drew Gooden, Danny Gonzalez or any commentator for that matter. Is there anything special behind commentary content like there is with the vlogs youve shown or is it a whole different landscape? great video man!

I really bought a $99 a year masterclass subscription to learn about storytelling and filmmaking only for Hayden to give the same quality with this channel... Also along with reactions, I think general editing videos could be interesting too. For instance what your whole process is for editing a video, not just the decisions made. How you initially sort through footage, cut it, refine details etc in an efficient but timely manner. Overall keep up the good work and excited to see more from this channel!
Thanks! I have a newfound respect for the genius that is dobrik editing. I also find it fascinating that theres usually a big bit in the video and he doesnt make it the highlight of the title and thumbnail like mrbeast does. Justin bieber could be in the vid or hes giving away cars but it is not referenced and almost showed as an extra bit to the video. I guess it adds to the “bonus cherry” surprise
I think one additional genius element of the cut on the high note without much further end cards is that this leaves the viewer with super high positive energy that they will want to release. Either by just dumbly smiling for 10 minutes and attributing their happiness to David‘s brand or by positively engaging with the video in the comments, through a like or by sharing it. Perfect branding and virality

These breakdowns help us get so much perspective on how to create/edit videos and im excited to start my journey by learning from watching such quality videos.

I've always wanted to express myself with video as a medium. Scattered ideas and emotions. Thank you for giving some context in how editing engages peoples perceptions. Really looking forward to what you have coming down the pipe. One Videographer that has some cool tricks is Taylor stephens of jablinski games. He incorporates really cool things into the content. Something that particularly interests me is his use of 360 camera's and key framing.
This is so helpful. I wish I had someone to help me sort out my vlogs this thoroughly. Perhaps Ill get a budget one day for it, but at least now I can appreciate all the great tips.
Mate. Don’t know if u realise how much this helps out! Please keep this series going. We need this!! You should also do reviews of bad edits. Eg. Small TH-camrs. Review their videos and say how they can make them better with cuts etc!! Just brutally pound into them as it will help us!!! ❤️👊🏽

I'd love to see you breakdown the analytics of a Logan Paul video. As in audience retention, how you kept retention high at certain parts, or how retention dropped at another part etc. Would be cool to see insights from an editing perspective
David Dobrik’s editing is wat makes his videos so addicting and why he’s the biggest person in the vlog squad. He makes them short and wastes no time, every shot has it’s worth because it needs to if it’s gonna make the cut

Great video, just a recommendation you should try to use a diffusion in the light you are using so the shadows in your face become softer. Believe me it will favor your skin more. Keep up the great work!
