      Right, hahaha.
Keep doing pod casts of how to hunt public lands and keep encouraging people who shouldn't be allowed in the woods, let alone have a gun or bow that can kill an animal or person and watch them walk under you. I see it almost every year, and yes numerous time they walked right under me. It is what it is.
Bonus facts, when you teach/preach about the biggest bucks are deep in the thickest, nastiest, farthest from people in the woods, guess what? There are already 5-10 deer stands hanging there, and the way you traveled to that deep spot without deer seeing you, there have been 10 other dudes that walked that same way because it was the best way to get there.
Lol people on public land, WTF?

Even then.... I've gotten way back in Public land and have seen no one most of the time one or two other guys or one pair and that's it...over a handful of years...... Maybe it was my luck... and I have seen trucks parked. But I feel a lot of people don't get deep into a WMA... Seems like they go about 500+700 yards and setup.

I hear people say that nationwide, according to license sales, the amount of hunters have decreased over the years. What’s interesting to me is that since the social media boom has opened up so much info, I feel the complete opposite. Public land is seeing more pressure. Everyone online is a deer wizard these days and think that if they watch a couple months of TH-cam they can go kill giant deer on public land, and of course we all know if you aren’t hunting public land these days, any other type of success is below it. I’d like to believe that skillful hunters who have plenty of time can still kill big public land deer, but it doesn’t change the fact that more and more people are going deeper, doing the same things, hunting the same areas, mostly due to the info these online deer wizards are so openly sharing. Blame social media and the ones who sell their success to earn themselves a name.

Hearing from dads stories in the 90s squirell hunting seeing lots of mature bucks roaming around in public land before he got into deer hunting in 02. Most of these big mature bucks that these so claim called goats killed on public land were taken in the 70s-90s before the foreigner hunting diversity got into big game hunting tagging mature bucks. I've used their tactics, it works but it doesn't work all the time.. the more everyone's using it. You're educating deer faster.. The spot that youre in high hopes of chasing this mature buck. Hardcore public land fanboys are around hunting it... the mature buck goes nocturnal or hangs around elsewhere either on private or somewhere that you won't realize he's not there... Luck plays majority of the role in public land...

Illinois is almost impossible to hunt public land. There is so little public land there to hunt I am almost surprised anyone out of state even tries. There aren’t that many people in state who really try. And all it would take is a small number to join the locals and no one is getting anything. Illinois has great hunting, but without a foot in the door of private land, you are going to pay for it. I grew up hunting west-central Illinois and so much of it is leased to city and suburban people now, it is ridiculous.

I've literally been sitting in my stand and have had another "hunter" climb a tree 75 FEET from me. Inside a park with 7000 acres and the dip shit chooses a tree 75' from my position. What's more, he never checked to see if there was anyone in the area... AND ITS 7:30 ALREADY, WTF??!! Boy was he surprised when I decided to get down from my stand moments later... I thanked him for his defiling of my area and screwing up my hunt area in not so many kind words.

Kansas 10 plus years ago was better than any hunting show I've ever watched....on public land. It's a shell of its former self. However thinking any property there is "busted" is foolish....those deer cover so much ground it's insane. Best way to hunt it is spot and stalk/spot and do Intel heavily, or just stay in the same spot, and wait when you're seeing deer. It's just a matter of time.

Spot and stalk doesnt work all the time... I'd prefer setting up treestands or ground blinds and wait.. from my experience it works if it's really windy.. but arrows don't fly too accurate when it's really windy.. almost arrowd a nice 3yr old wide rack buck on the ground. But where they bed on the open grass is brushy.. went around and my safety belt caribeaner his a metal on on of my belts and he busted out with a doe he was chasing earlier. Miss him due to high winds.. End of my hunt I ended up arrow a 5.5 yr old tall rack 9 early mid November..

I live in a mid west state that is on everyone’s bucket list to hunt and leads the way by selling right around 40K out of state deer tags every single year. Do people really think that many out of state hunters have access to private land or can afford to hunt with an outfitter? Pardon my ignorance here but I am confused: hunters want to complain about how crappy hunting public land is but all they do is film themselves hunting on public land, then wonder why hunting public land is so crowded and difficult to hunt? I like to see everyone fill their tag but there is something wrong when I hunt public land I am completely out numbered and surrounded by out of state deer hunters. Just my 2 cents.

That doesn’t mean 2 hours later a buck wouldn’t come through right? You hunt your calls off! By no means do I have it figured out but I have learned to hunt the hunters to shoot deer. I try to find the more secluded areas and get in extra early and stay longer and I like hunting the middle of the week when the pressure is lower due to most people working
