You cannot bribe your way into a school through a single (say an English teacher) person. It can happen with departments, usually sports since they recruit and offer major scholarships.

I was raised by a "single-mother" household(divorce), I had strict rules growing up, good grades at school, in the house at dark, etc., my mother worked every day and I lacked NOTHING I really needed. Too many stereotypes in this story.
Having been raised in an unhappy home I used to pray my parents would divorce. They never did but I left home the day I turned 18. Both parents had "special friends" since I was in third grade. Dad died and Mom married her lover 6 weeks later. He supposedly had been my father's best friend.
