      Usually I just leave them like that near of stem pants to do the transition and very short on the front, this time I trimmed them all at same size.

      Ahahaha! Just updated the livestock in the video's description. I copied the list from first video and I forgot to add the new fish on it.
      They laid some eggs there for sure, they are too aggressive... But I'm used to that. I just need to be focus to don't cut one in half. 😅

So much that Im going to try to make something at least remotely similar in my new 60P :D I am little bit worried about the depth, afterall the 60P is 2 times less deep and i dont have that much experience with visual depth creation. Gahhhh i love this tank so much! It is stunning! What do you do with all of the cuttings from your plants? Do you replant them in a different tank? Also, how do you feel about dutch hybrid Aquascapes? I have one in my room and i quite like it. I also love how the background of the tank gives it this shady, sunset look, while still looking airy and light! Amazing job as usual! ☺️

    • @FAAOAquascaping
      @FAAOAquascaping  4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Sometimes I reuse them, others just give to some friends and when they are too short and very difficult to plant/replant I just throw them in the garbage.
      I love Dutch tanks and for me it's the ultimate step in aquascaping, the most difficult one, when it's done perfectly 😉

      Yes!!! I need to be focused otherwise I will cut one in half. I'm pretty sure those guys laid some eggs near of the V shape in the lower part. If I go there is my hands they will attack.

    • @FAAOAquascaping
      @FAAOAquascaping  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Those rams I believe they already laid some eggs somewhere... They were defending the territory as you have seen in the video.
      So far they are aggressive but not at point to stress the others, but if that get worse I will move a pair to my 80L tank that I will scape soon.

      Yes. I'm using two because my tank has 90x60x45h and to avoid lot of shadow in the front. If you have a 90x50x50 is more than enough

    Fantastic tank, how change the fertilization after a huge trimming like this?

    • @FAAOAquascaping

      I don't change it. Since I use lean fertilization, no need to change the way how I fertilise.

  • @ryansel22
    @ryansel22 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Very nice tank. Have you ever had to replant the rotala within the 14 months the tanks been running? From my experience the bottom parts of the rotala dies off cause lack of light after some time.

    • @FAAOAquascaping
      @FAAOAquascaping  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      If your plants die in the bottom you have a bacteria issue. Plants tend to loose their leaves when they don't get light, but don't rot unless you have other issue, maybe contaminated soil.
      This tank is doing 15 months and I never replanted my stem plants. 😉

    Awesome Filipe, the video I was waiting for :D ...more questions about the rotalas area :) In this video is clear how you maintains the shape of the backend...but trimming after trimming some plants dont grows good(in my tank ;) )...I was wondering if some in while you replant all that area o_O

    • @FAAOAquascaping
      @FAAOAquascaping  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This tank is doing 15 months and I never replanted the tips... If you have that issue, probably the water circulation is not enough or you are running out of nutrients in the soil. Just use some root tabs in the affected areas and check if the problem is solved 😉

      I use so many different brands... JBL, VIV, Aquariset (was a gift), AquaArt, ELOS (was a gift too...), EKs... I have also some unbranded stuff. I'm not that kind of guy that uses a specific brand, I use what works best for me. You may no believe, I don't have a single tool from ADA. The most used one is specific for haircut 😅 and made in good stainless steel and very sharp!

    • @FAAOAquascaping
      @FAAOAquascaping  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      This tank is doing 15 months and I never replanted the tips on the bottom.

    is that create any damage if you trim the java fern leaf ??

    • @FAAOAquascaping

      To the leaf yes because it relies on the rhizome to grow. If you cut it, you can't reuse it anymore. But you must do it to control the volume and also get rid of old leafs.

      Hi Lucas, there is no secret... Rams last from 12 to 24 months (with luck)!!!
      It's not a fish that last longer, but if you don't add fish in your tank all the time, treat them against parasites, you can keep them around 2 years.

      I don't change my fertilization routine because I just do a very lean dosing. Check my video about liquid fertilization. 😉
