what time of day was this filmed? Because I originally planned to film planes landing into Heathrow from that spot but the website for that hotel said the roof terrace will not open til five in the evening.
I was there from about 10:00am until 15:00pm, I just get the pod from T5 and go through the gate and they never said anything about the balcony being shut.
I would love to spot at Heathrow, but is there ever a time when the sun is not directly in your face? Video seems to deal with the backlighting okay but its much more difficult for stills, what's the best time of year for spotting at Heathrow?
This spot is great, better in summer when the sun is higher but as it’s only about 30% of the year when 09 is in use thistle is normally departures right into the sunlight.
Tom.av1ation HD thanks for answering, I did not know 767s could have the same sharklets as 737s. I know WestJet and Air Canada had transatlantic flights from the easternmost provinces to the UK operated by 737s, which is still quite a long flight.
No worries mate, I don’t think the 767 winglets are the same as the 737, slightly bigger I believe and they’re also using the split scimitars on most 737s now. The 737 can do long haul but the tickets are quite expensive however the 737 max and the a321 neo are completely changing the game, exciting times ahead!

At min 6.29 is it a Delta 737-800? Pretty small plane for a flight from the US!
That's a Delta 767, they wouldn't make any money if they used the 737 on such a long flight

Does gulf air still have there Airbus a340?
I’m not 100% sure but I don’t think they do have them
nope they don't have the a340's anymore.It was retired in 2012.
