- After a long weekend in the UK to do some plane spotting and travel on some rare aircraft, it was time to head back to the states. Booked a flight in Upper Class on Virgin Atlantic to Atlanta. Here is the takeoff from London Heathrow - runway 27L. Enjoy!

It's always exciting when you make that final turn onto the runway
Airplanes never fail to impress me. I always wonder what someone from the past would make of this. We are very lucky to be alive right now.
As much as I fly, it still amazes me every-time I step onboard one.

Was just thinking precisely the same.
Precisely the thought that struck me as I gazed down upon the Alps from 30,000 ft on a flight to Rome. Just how improbable was it, for me to be born at precisely this point in the long history of this planet, in this particular galaxy, so that I could experience the surreal joy of air travel?
I always wondered what the Wright brothers would think about this.
In my experience the A350 is the 2nd most comfortable aircraft to fly on (after the A380) - ironically, though, this is the noisiest place in the A350 cabin to sit, in Business/Upper Class just forward of the engine inlet.

if people can appreciate the sound of v-10 F1 cars, we can appreciate this.
I love to see these videos taken within the cabin of large passenger jets. It saves me having to be in one. I used to love flying. In latter years I`ve given away the chances I`ve had in having European holidays paid for me - and being given spending money whilst somewhere abouts the Mediterranian coast.
If I was on that plane now and some passenger close to me asked, " have we far to go," after a minute from take - off I`d likely reply, " no - a matter of a few hundred meters or so, that`s all ...."
That`s how scared I`ve become of flying.

This has me reliving my flight with Virgin Atlantic to Miami in 2011. Best holiday ever!
I flew on the Virgin Atlantic A350-1000 series last May to Orlando from Manchester, a fabulous aircraft indeed. I was due to fly with THAI airways on an A350-900 series a couple of years ago, but their delivery of the aircraft was late so flew on their Boeing 777-300ER's to Bangkok from Heathrow instead.👍👍
Best plane ever! Would recommend to take, also it’s such an excitement when you see the plane making the final turn and onto the runway! Trent XWB gives me CF6 vibes ♥

I prefer it over the 787
2 months to go until I take my kids one of those behemoths to Florida, I think we're more excited for the A350 than disney!
Just finished a round trip to Denver with BA on these birds and trust me, TOGA on these is way different from others like the 787 and A330

Impressive engine grind very similar to the 777. However, when your right next to it it's obnoxiously annoying until it reaches a QUIET cruising speed. Thank god for noise cancelling headphones.

Went on Virgin A350-1000 last year to JFK and returned from MCO. Fabulous aircraft
was it that loud the entire flight?
A perfect vid seeing the engine and the shadow cast by the sun on the port side of the plane. I just wish cabin crew would be quiet sometimes until they pullback take off thrust and then they wont sound so screachy. 👍

I love flying on the a350, but almost all have economy cabins behind the engines and you can’t hear that awesome roar 😕

Wasnt there a double engine failure by a british airways as it came to land at heathrow once causing a crash. Mayve Rolls Royce jet engine not as good as we think it is

A350 and A380 according to me are one of the best and most polished sounding aircrafts, yes there isn't the roar you would hear from the older wide bodies but come on.
Wonder if those engines are the XWB 84 or 97? Either way, they sure are loud and growly!

Weird, so if you spend a little more money, you get engines that work and do not flame out or fall apart during flight? Does anyone boeing know this?

Preferred to have been behind on the BA A380 but a nice video. Terrible cabin announcement that the worst I have ever heard
A380 is probably my least favorite plane. Side walls are too thick for photography, and the upper deck picks up quite a bit of “swaying” motion in flight.
how much of that thing is carbon-fibre, basically surfboard material? The funniest picture of a 787 is the one with duct tape on the starboard wing.
It’s not duct tape, it’s speed tape, it’s a lot more sticky lol. A350 is about 53% cfrp

The roaring is normal on the A350s.
More of a determined whine than a deep throated roar.

Extra points of interest
1. The queue of aircraft behind the subject.
2. The other aircraft landing while subject aircraft is approaching V1 and rotate.
3. The shadow on the ground of the subject aircraft.
4. The sheer number of aircraft parked around the terminals.
5. The turn and take-off.

Agreed with all of the above as I caught all of that as well. One thing to add.
8. The mechanical whirring sound of the flaps retracting.
It's quite noisy but it's nice to hear that the Trent XWB still has a touch of that growl followed by a high-pitched scream and buzzsaw sound on take off that we came to love from the RB211s on 757s.

Love Rolls Royce engines.
The A350 has the best sounding engines of any modern day airliner. It still has character. Most new engines now just have a low howl and thats it

Sounds quite unhealthy. 737 max has quieter engines
But Airbus planes don’t fall out of the sky.
Because Boeing engine smashed up to pieces on the ground.
It’s actually pretty quiet, the sound is boosted here
Besides, after takeoff, they typically reduce the thrust.
