I did a build on this exact same case last year and my experience was the same as yours - I ended up moving my build to a K39 :) I did see a redesigned version of this case that allows an 80x15 fan under the power supply and a 120x15 fan under the motherboard, but of course that increases the volume above 7.5L.
i just bought this case last night but i thought i could fit some super thin fans in there to help with air flow. since you have experience on this case did u have fans or was there enough room to fit slim 90mm fans or even 30mm 40mm fans?
@@rushhour6444 it depends on the psu cables - I had custom length cables which allowed me to squeeze in a 60mm fan. But it really did not help much since the holes underneath don’t really allow good airflow.
Maraming Salamat kuya, perfect representation, you mentioned all the components and all the compatible dimensions. Thats what we are looking for searching for such a video….Perpecto👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Wow! Thank you. It was very useful. I like the form factor, the dimensions and the handle. Hope they will improve this model. Gonna check your other vids.
Great review, there is another very similar case out there the XRORS S300 with a cpu heatsink/fan clearance of 60mm so it fits the ID-COOLING IS-55 cooler. I will be building this rig in the next month or so.
I just got this case and moved my old system with i7 4790 (with idcooling IS-40X) + GTX 1660 to it. I tried running Shadow of the Tomb Raider benchmark several times and the CPU temp hovers around 62 - 63C and the GPU gets up to 75C. I ended up undervolting the GPU a little bit and it never goes past 70C. I think this case is best for mid - low end system.
Yeah sadly. I was thinking of that but didn't mention it. Reason was that the case can house modern mid range components and so it should be able to handle such, the diff between open case and close case was enough for me to say skip it. Though I forgot the aesthetics aspect, which would say that you might like the case and not care about thermals and just give the best hardware that this can handle. Thanks for reminding. Will try to see things in another perspective.
I use this case, also face the problem of overheating I just don't apply side pannel :) Case fits 1 80x10 fan on top of the PSU. This case is only for 65W CPU and below 200W graphics card. I use it with 12100f rx6600 and it works fine. Still doesn't see some alternatives with ~7.5 L volume and 300mm GPU... maybe LianLi a4. I think balance between size and temerature is 13L cases for micro-ATX motherboars ~320x260x160 where you can fit 3-5 120 fans.
I'm glad you pointed out the poor airflow on the mesh grill. Based on this review, I ordered the PCCooler i100-2 with clear acrylic panels. FYI - the main difference between the PCCooler i100 and i100-2 is the size of the GPU that it can hold. The i100 supports 2-slot GPUs < 312 mm length. The i100-2 supports 3-slot GPUs < 330 mm length. I have an ASUS TUF GAMING 3060 OC 12GB that can fit either case, except -> it's too thick for the regular i100.
Nice informative vid. There's another version of this case with acrylic side panels with huge gaps. I'll probably get that one since tech yes city's results weren't that bad using it.
they should've moved the usb port (and maybe the power button) to the bottom right of the front panel, right under the gpu where there is a fair bit of empty space. as it is, the usb port restricts the height of the gpu that you can install. this is also an issue in the a07 case that i have.

Nice video Manong. I am wondering if should I choose this Shiny Snake S400 Case which is a little similar case with your video but with additional exhaust fans on the top or the ZZAW C2 Plus. I am looking for a budget sff case that I can easily fit inside my luggage bag as I will be moving abroad later this year, but with little compromises as possible and possibly a more budget build approach as itx build these days are really expensive.
Hi, sorry I'm not familiar with s400 but will list it down. For c2p, it's not really portable, but yeah you can fit it in your luggage bag (i'm assuning that this is a hand carry trolly). How much is your budget for the case?
@@manongunboxing My estimated budget is less than 5k pesos for the case. But yeah I am siding with ZZAW C2P right now as it is much less compromised even if it is twice as big with PCooler i100 case. Thank you po sa reply manong.
hi, I did another benchmark based on your comment. I believe it was a valid point as the holes at the bottom of the case are bigger compared to the top of the case. I placed the case on top of 4cm boxes making a huge space underneath the case. Ok, so here's the result on intake cpu and closed side panels with FF15 for 30 mins: CPU avg temp: 79.6C (w/ spacers) vs 85.6C (no spacers) CPU max temp: 88.4 vs 90.3 GPU avg temp: 78.65 vs 77.24 That huge CPU average difference just cements my theory that their mesh panels need improvement. I placed my hands underneath the case and there are lots of air blowing out compared to the top of the case. However, there is no improvement for the GPU since my specific GPU's fin stacks are more inclined to push air to the top and less to the bottom.
@@manongunboxing I checked the bottom holes and they are really larger, wish this was the size on the top panel. I also checked their version 2, the one with acrylic side panels, those had larger holes on the top panels, should have bought that if I have watch your video before the purchase. 😁 Great content by the way. The acrylic panels also have larger holes.
@@manongunboxing if your into it, you can try the mod the same with Noctua faoms, the one you put between the gap on the CPU fan and the side panels. This greatly drop the temps as it avoided recirculating of the trapped hot air, as shown on your video. Also had managed to fit a 120mm fan under the PSU, but the foam mod had a better effect.
Nah not planning to go deeper, I dismantled the build already as I need to get the CPU for an upcoming GPU vid. 😃 As for i100-2 (if this is what you meant w/ v2), it is a bit bigger already to the point that it competes with the mainstream which I haven't tested yet.
