At 59 years old, I've been dropping into the back country with my sons for several years. My oldest turned me on to Gritty. You guys are inspiring. After watching this episode I'm jacked up for this fall's archery elk hunt.

Nothing like dealing with a angry woman who had everything loaded to up for a day on the river and you got a Gritty notifcation. I sit with a smile on my face as she stomps around outside waiting for me to finish my film. Totally worth it! Another epic hunt in some beautiful country. Keep them coming and be safe in the woods.

A good way to secure field dressing and campsites is to use a portable electric fence. The lightest one out there weighs only 2.4 lbs and it’s powerful enough to deter a hungry griz. Just a suggestion
The content you guys produce is amazing. I wish you guys had these videos out when I was younger so I would be able to do the same things you guys are doing now. I love the patience you guys have with these big bucks that you are passing on. I appreciate all the time you guys put into these videos.

Absolutely love watching mule deer hunts and you guys always present the best representation of the hunt. The video really portrayed for me what an emotional experience it is to take the life of a large animal. Being able to watch the moment it expired in such clear footage is important for people to see and understand the gravity of the situation. Thank you for making a well placed shot and an ethical kill.
Thank you Kyle. I debated with myself for hours on whether to leave that footage in the film or not--if you have any kind of respect at all for these animals then it's hard to watch that buck expire. But it's real. None of us like to see it--but it's the reality of life. Life eats life. I don't think it's good for society to sugar coat it. Everyone kills every day when they sit down for lunch and eat their sandwich, burger or their fried chicken, etc. Every grocery shopping trip is an exercise in taking life. Too many Americans are disconnected from the reality of where their food comes from and it's not good for humanity. So I kept it in there. TH-cam will probably punish me for it--but that's okay; it'll connect with those who who get a chance to watch it.

Definitely agree with you there. It was difficult to watch but important to realize the gravity of the situation. I have only been blessed to take a few deer 🦌 and a turkey 🦃 in my life. Each time I have that mixed emotion of sadness and thankfulness. I even pray 🙏 over each animal and thank God for the opportunity to bring protein 🍗🍖🥩 back to my family.
I like what Steve Rinella said. Someone asked a hunter “why does that deer have to give his life for you? Would you give your life for deer?” The hunter looked at them and said “if it came down to that”. Hunters are conservationists.
Your shows are 99% adventure. One of the best hunting film creators out there! Love the passion you guys bring, keeps me coming back every Sunday.

What a grind of a hunt. Grumpy old mountain bucks carving out a living are the best bucks to kill. Makes me want to go deep into a few rocky canyons to find the one or two bucks that roam those canyons that have to be big. Thanks Brian! Stay gritty!
Wow, that is a nice buck. The terrain looks nasty. Steep and all those loose rocks make this a difficult hunt but I like how you don't even hesitate on getting out there. Climbing 1600' in a mile and a half is gnarly. Impressed and love the footage.

I am jealous of you all 20 years ago I hunted black bears in the same manner climbing mountain tops and it was awesome. You guys bring back great memories keep doing what you guys do it is incredibly a joy to watch.

By far my favorite hunting channel on TH-cam…I always come away learning so much and being very entertained from all of your hunts and podcasts which has helped me a lot during archery elk and spring bear!

Appreciated the comments on how your work on the film image quality that leeds to what we see in the end product is very different to the boots on ground version. Appreciate the effort that goes in and adds some perspective for those who haven't had the opportunity to glass and try to judge animals.
You're blessed Brian to have the time to pass on an animal. I've only been able to do that maybe 3 times in the past 10 years on small bucks. It's always much more rewarding when you can make it all come together.

Truely enjoyed watching this hunt. Team Work and extreme high country that was challenging to the fullest. Passing a super tall antlered buck show’s class. Working together to locate that buck in the final hours showed commitment. I Thank all of you so much for sharing. In a few weeks I am off hunting Mulies and elk with 3 Young men in my family in their late 30s. I am the ole man at 76 years old, Retired, a 100% Disabled Marine Vietnam Veteran. As a life-long western Oregon blacktail hunter, it's somewhat bemusing to watch the setting up & especially the WAITING for the shot, on those spot & stalk mulies. Typically, the shot opportunity on a blacktail can be measured in seconds, and if you pass or don't get a shot, the odds of seeing the same trophy-class blacktail again are low. You guys put in the work to get it done, which is the most impressive part of these videos for me.
Another episode in the books, another breathtaking hunt…can not wait to be experiencing these rugged remote locations you all trek. Unbelievable. Grateful to be able to watch these experiences y’all create.

Awesome dedication to the very end!! It's ok Brian, I passed on some bucks in Idaho last year and also came back empty handed... The high country back pack experience with my son was enough though. He got a small 4pt. buck. We saw several bull moose rutting, bull elk we didn't have tags for and got tons of snow and freezing Temps! Loved your film! Keep up the great work!

Thanks Michael! I'm convinced that TH-cam doesn't like my politics. My metrics don't make sense. When TH-cam shares my films we break 100,000 views in a few days. Other times, TH-cam doesn't share it and we reach about half that number. And TH-cam limits the reach of films that show kill shots as well. It's frustrating. But, we're still growing! Thanks for leaving a comment--it helps a lot!
I’m 39 and I’ve been going on mule deer hunts since I was 3. Needless to say, it’s in my blood. I eat elk primarily but I at the very least go on a mule deer hunt every year for nostalgia and because I love hunting mule deer. Not too noticeable was the double throat patch on Compact. That is tough to pass up. I’m definitely a sucker for the double throat patch. Good huntin guys.
