btw i use my 6666 with a Palomar 450 fet amp aka a Rocket Box 500 and it is a perfect match. i bought silent fans for both of them. i don't use them too often but I'm about to go back to work truck driving in a few weeks and throw them in.
I have one of these on the way. Should be here Tuesday. I had placed my order a couple days before your last video showing you had some in stock. But I’ll be getting an amp from you later for sure! I was going to go with a basic tune on the Anytone but decide on some upgrades. 2030+ finals, upgraded caps and upgraded voltage regulator. Adjustable dead key from 2 to 20 watts and a little over 125 watts pep. Like I said I’ll be doing business with you in the near future. 881 Texas. 73’s!
Great little radios. The knobs are tiny. They are known to be lacking on cooling if you run them full tilt especially if they have had the output power kicked up. I think all the ones that fail are not stock but had a magic screwdriver inside. Also known as a crt 9900. I run the 5555n and love it. Less menu interaction on the 5555n but lower power.
Hank i noticed you didn't have these on your site so would it just be best to text you for info and is charger building any 6 pill amps base prefrebly but mobile would do using the 2879c ? Like all your videos bud it's a good thing you're doing helping alot of the people new to the hobby explaining things to them in a non technical manner easy for them to understand wish they were s few back in the day would have done that when we were new to the hobby when the dinosaurs were running around lol
Hello rooster I'm a newbie to CB. I have an antron 99 antenna and a bearcat 980 SSB. I went to your website and I checked out your souped-up rig 6666. If I bought that for a higher price 324 what difference would I get from mine bearcat 980 SSB? Thank you sir
Don't have it turned up. If the tech doesn't have a oscilloscope to actually tune the radio.. they should be showing you the waveform. Most techs or as we call them golden screwdrivers just turn everything up and the waveform looks like rectangles instead of rounded waves. This means you sound like shit. These golden screwdriver techs just show how much power it's making, but the secret is.. we call these ghost watts as they will never truly be on the channel you desire. They will be splattering two or three channels up and two or three below the actual chanel your on. Meaning your getting less power then as stock one, on your chosen channel AND you can't be understood and sound like a quack box. Keep it stock and this radio will let you talk all over the world. I have no amp, just this stock radio and a thrift five dollar antenna from truck stop and I talk all over the lower 48. Have even talked to Canada and Puerto Rico all from my mobile Anytone with no amp and it bone stock. Hope I helped
@@baylenthedogg3242 thank you for this information, i have a brand spanking new 6666 i am installing in my pick up truck. i am very excited. i think i will just run it stock and see how she does
@@mines513 make sure you have grounded the antenna to your vehicle and ground the body to the frame and the doors to the body and so forth. If your unfamiliar with it do some antenna grounding searches! The antenna is actually only half of what you need! Your vehicle becomes it's ground plane and that is what your signal radiates from! To best of my knowledge!? Lol.. but yeah ground that antenna and ground your vehicle so it's totally bonded. Leave that Anytone stock and you'll have a blast! Just received today - ‘channel selector’ / encoder knob skips and doubles as it is dialed - example - 50,51,51,52,53,55 etc. This does not appear to occur using the microphone’s UP & DN buttons. If I can’t find a fix for this, it’s going back to the manufacturer for refund in a few days. W8GMG
My hint is you have to be Delicate with the selector. Before with old cb the selector was hard and real hardware. Now is a swirch that if a treat hard it skips or doubled channel. Crt6900
ok many folk run them with great results ! however after 6- 8 months many have broke and Teks haven issues to repair many just end up in bin .. finals heat up and take out traces

Your quad 6 must be stock right? Aside from conversion?
Well, I turned it down so I don’t over drive the amp, other than that, yes it’s stock
What power amps you run with that?daveed33
So many features from a tiny radio.👍

Saw some comments on them over heating and giving out. What's the repair service availability

After some days using a crt6900 the selectors i use more often ( channels and bands) are moving and pretty loose .
Is there an option to show the channel number instead of the frequency on the display?
Yes of course there is, Silly Billy.
How would this do with the 503HD?
Well these radios are doing 80-100 watts and the 503hd takes 35-40 watts max.
How do you think that will work out?
What did you do to this ready to. To get that kind of watts
CB Radio Voodoo
What did you do to those radios to get that kind of output

Can you get 11 meters on this radio
Hey buddy my local friend bought this from you I’m going over there to help him out
I was wondering what antenna is best to have for this radio? Just using it for the CB features for now while traveling over the road for work.
I have a Hustler HQ-27 on a trunk lip mount on the car with a Lincoln II Ver 3. On 10 meters I made contact with G0FWX in England with just 15 watts.
I tried to use Google translate, couldn't do Tennessee to Florida, but I got most of it. How is it about swr? Any inside meter? What do they cost in Biden dollars? 👍👍Thanks.
"how is it about swr" I'm going to see if google translate can help me
Is this a similar size to the President Lincoln? Looking for a 10 meter to mount in the dash of the car.
Probably even smaller, been awhile since i had a lincoln

I hear better with it turned ON. but i would be curious to try a different external audio speaker
That's nice mine does 45-50 and it gets really really warm with the 13n10
How would you compare this with a stryker?
Stryker is prettier, and i personally prefer a traditional knob and button radio, but if you like menu driven to me the anytone is more bang for buck.
Yep, I definitely prefer a knob radio for mobile use. Most guys I run into have love hate relationships with 980s and 6666s

I wouldn't mind the AT-5555 aka Top Gun Technologies Quad5 aka Alpha 10 Max AM-1000 aka Superstar CRT SS 6900N.
I have a Anytone AT5555. Love that radio. Don't think you would be disappointed.
