  • I slowly introduced Aoki to recall a few weeks ago and just started integrating it to our daily training at home and outdoors. He's been the best student so far and caught on real quick! I'm not a dog trainer - far from that - but I thought I'd share my personal experience with you and how we got to this point :)

My shiba puppy is 4 months and i was bringing him to an open grass field with a lake and was playing frisbee with him. He ran to catch it and brought it back. A lady passed by and asked me how old he was, and said that maybe it is better for his joints and hips not to run . I do not know if it is true. If it is, really sad because Taiko absolutely loved this escapade. What is your experience with your puppy? Is 18 weeks (4 months) too young for running after frisbee?

So that is true. Shiba pups that run/ go on too long walks can get joint problems because their muscles aren’t fully developed for so much “work out”. They won’t show you any signs of it ,as they do enjoy running around and about but it can lead to limping. I know that because the mom of my shiba pup had that issue as a puppy cuz her owner went on long forest walks with her as a young pup. They recommended me 15min walks at a time to begin with, just for her to do her business and playtime at home then gradually build up walks.

Thank you for your content! So helpful and satisfying to see the process of training him. The wind in the mic is distracting though.

As pups they can come back but not as adults they will run away if they see a bird or what ever and some never return enjoy those moments while it lasts lol I have a shiba to

It’s actually the opposite for aoki. He used to not really care and not listen. Now if I recall I noticed he would come back to me but I have to be careful still as it depends on the situation. I also notice that he usually stays around me not going to far and if I leave him behind, he would not want to stay alone 🤪

Most of the time you are on the video. No offends but I thought it’s about your dog.

Hey Anthony, thanks for dropping us a comment and sharing your thoughts! It is true that you see me a lot on camera, that said, the channel is about our adventures together ans also about my perspective as a first time dog owner - which is why I named it Aoki and Anais ;) I do appreciate the feedback and will keep it in mind moving forward! Hope you enjoy what we have in the works! :)
