I got a little teary_eyed after watching her winning moment. I was also touched when the Philippine flag and the national song seen and heard in the event like this. Everyone in the Philippines is celebrating for her victory!
thank you so much to both of you, well appreciated,, stay safe,..
Thank you for this video with your sincere appreciation of the Olympics' feat of a Filipina athlete. We are overwhelmingly proud of Olympics gold medalist Hidilyn Diaz as she has lifted the whole country from the anxieties due to the pandemic crisis and the misery of Philippine losing its sovereign rights in the Philippines-China Sea. Momentarily, Hidilyn's win and victory bring so much hope as she lifted the spirits of the Filipinos when she remarked, "Kaya natin ito!" She is very patriotic to the Philippines, as you can see how continuously cry from the moment she dropped the barbell...that mixed bursts of emotion just showed more her live for her country especially when the 3 winners stood on the platform honoring them. That heroic moment, her stance of great pride, made me cried too. For me, she's a hero because she has sacrificed so much (emotionally, mentally and physically) to be away from her family for 2 years training and gone into lockdown in Malaysia. She was also scandalized by the Philippines' government for a wrong accusation which had a psychological effect on her state of mind. Despite all of these negative vibes around her, she persevered and focused on her goal, that is, to win the Gold in the 2020 Olympics. Exactly, she got her wish as this was her words when she won a Silver in Rio de Janeiro 2016 Olympics. Bound to happen!!! Congratulations to Hidilyn,
I cried when I watched it 😭
Hidilyn deserves all the best things after getting that first ever Olympic gold medal for the country.
I hope this triggers change on how we take care of our athletes. No one should ever beg for support again - instead, it should be readily given. Let's help develop talented Filipinos, and not just reward them only when they bring home medals and trophies.
Let's cultivate the culture of believing in one's talent and determination 💪
As a Filipino and a Zamboangueño, I couldn't be more proud of our Olympian Gold Medalist "Hidilyn Diaz", She is Zamboanga City's Pride, putting Asia's Latin City on top of the headlines. There is also another Olympic Athlete from our hometown in Zamboanga City who is also 2 steps away from getting the 2nd gold Olympic Medal. He's also an Airforce, our very own Eumir Marcial who is currently on the middle weight division of Boxing. He's with the same boxing coach Freddy Roach and with all our support, we pray for his victory. If he wins, it will be another record for having the 2nd Gold Olympic medal for the Philippines. Olympians perseverance and human spirit breaks through nationality and garners recognition worldwide that is what makes the olympics great athletes that push the boundary of human conditions despite individual adversity.
It is so heartwarming that even other countries like Korea are recognizing her triumph in the big stage.
Even though there were issues in the past between PH and Korea last year regarding racism issues or stereotypes, seeing this on their mainstream media really makes me proud to be a Filipino.

Everytimd I watch Hidilyn's success of getting gold for our country, I feel chills. Its very surreal watching history happen and be made and not just reading it im textbooks. Also, to think she did not get the full support of the government, that makes it more worth it and touching. She persevered and did not give up. Its one of those winning moments everyone would be emotionally proud. First gold for the PH in WOMEN'S WEIGHTLIFTING, damn #WomenPower 🥇💪

OMG I'M SO PROUD!!! Hope Hidilyn's win in Olympics will enlighten the government and the Filipinos to proudly support our Filipino athletes with dreams of becoming a champion someday. Truly, she did not only lifted a hundred plus kg but also uplifted the fighting spirits of the Filipinos. MABUHAY KA HIDILYN DIAZ!!!
the problem is there is no real sports development in the philippines. all they know is "paliga" basketbsll and beauty pageants..
it is not the government only to blame but the society itself.
kaya naman ng PPP sa infastructure. bakit di rin gawin sa sports. we tend to excel much on individual soprts. why not start with it. wrestling, boxing, weight lifting, shooting.
@@KnH07 actually there is already clark sports complex which has a running field and a stadium with an olympic size pool and athletics village (though its not much yet they are still progressing Clark to be a moderrnized city) thats just one example in sports development in terms of venues and that they privatized it to prevent it being lost
I kept crying and getting goosebumps. Watch her face (tiktok), the look of hope mingled with determination. And that second where she's holding the weights high and it registers that SHE DID it! Even without knowing her backstory at first, which makes it even more epic when you know the moments leading up this this. It's also the fact that it was a woman that brought the nation's first gold! It's beyond words. Gettin teary thinking about it. It's just so incredible!
I hope she inspires us Filipinos to take up weight lifting as it's the perfect sports for us. You don't need height so us being short don't factor in and there are weight class so we will only be competing with people our size. Add the fact that you don't need expensive equipment to train as you can just make your own weight using cement etc or you can save money to buy actual plates since it's a one time purchase only and would last basically forever. You only need to invest on the bar itself and proper nutrition.
You got chills every moments?
Thats mean your a filipino hearted ♥️♥️♥️♥️
And we love you 😘😘😘

She did not just lift 127kg. She lifted much more than that. She carried our pride. In her arms, she carried the sheer weight of all of our hopes and dreams. 127kg is nothing compared to that. And because of this she will live on in history books. Her name will never be forgotten. Children will learn her name and her story in classrooms for generations to come. 🏆🇵🇭🏅

The biggest celebration I remember is the 2013 FIBA Asia Cup where the Philippines won against Korea and gained the silver. There is this term called Korean Curse wherein Philippines loses over Korea most of the time. Sometimes, it was almost a win then lost at the end.
You might wanna check that out although you do not have to make a video.
I have a question though. Is football the most popular sport in Korea?
I also amazed that time after many years that we didn't beat Korea, Finally the curse was over.hhaha proud to be Filipino

In other countries like Korea, people simply celebrate events like this, in the Philippines, although we're happy for Hidilyn, we're also having political arguments about this win because of certain negative people and reasons that will be hard to explain here. You'll know why if you follow PH politics. That's why I say in this aspect, Koreans are luckier than us. Hey Jessica Covid is spreading again in both Korea and PH, I don't think you'll be able to come back until after a long time. Be safe.
I think there's argument between politics and sports because the government here in our country is not supporting or lacking of support to our athletes which is true because i do fencing and buying some good equipments requires a huge amount of money our governments need to open their eyes, other government from other countries really support there athletes in many ways like financial support, shelter, some equipments kaya di mo din masisisi kung bakit may mga nagrereklamo hindi niyo din kasi nararanasan hirap ng pagbili ng equipments at pagbayad sa mga coach para lang matraining
Tama na Yan, I didn't want to elaborate, hindi lang Pilipino nagbabasa nito, dirty laundry na Yan ng Pilipinas. First of all it's not true na walang support ang admin ngayon at wala naman akong sinabing Di dapat mag reklamo mga atleta, nakakasawa Lang talaga mga negative. Dapat magsaya na Lang at magkaisa, wag kasi gamitin si Hidilyn.
@@patrick5729 paanong di magiging negative mismong government ng Malaysia nagbigay ng tulong kay Hidilyn? Goverment natin? Like tf, after ired tag biglang papuri? These kinds of situations is the evidences that the current administration is not giving there best to do their job.
Nagkamali Lang sa kanya pero totoo namang destabilizer karamihan ng nasa matrix. Nagpasalamat na nga si Hidylin sa gobyerno ginagamit niyo pa. Sasabihin victory against China tapos di naman Pala Alam na Chinese coach niya.
