- We're on the hunt for a new project to start on TH-cam. Our friend Lindsay is selling his 1938 Ford two door sedan so we had to come take a look at it... now we're back to buy it 💰

I love custom, but I also respect original. I just finished a 1940 Chevy pick up. Kept it original because it was so complete to be 85 years old. There are times to customize. I think it starts with what all you have to begin with. 🤷🏻
To nice to cut up
I agree Chad's abilities are incredible... but even the best horse in world needs a bridle
Best looking front clip! Love those head lights and grill😊
Personally It looks too nice to hot rod or cut up, I would do a full restoration
Restoration are way and I mean way more than buying the car new. He would spend thousands more to restore than money he spent on buying it. Not really worth it really.
Great find Curious why you haven’t made a place for the ramps under the trailer js
Although some disagree with customizing old cars, if the owner wants to change their ride to suit their taste, it should be whatever makes them happy.
That's what I've been saying for years ! Absolutely !
Is there a video of any completed projects? Link?
About a year ago Chad addressed the issue that nothing gets finished by going through all the completed cars he has. It was on one of the You Tube episodes Most of them are now in his new building
I agree. His vehicles, his money, his channel, his decision.
It will be interesting whatever you decide to do with it. Thanks for everything the both of you do
Great video. Thanks for posting. You seem to customize everything you get. Why not try a restoration on this one for a change?
❤ a car becomes a truck ? A car becomes a modify hot rod ? A car becomes a dream machine ? A ice-cream truck a track racer ? Lots of ideas can't wait for the plan ! Thumbs-up on acquiring a new build go team Hiltz
i love that whole front end and grill
TWO KEYSTONE COPS ! WHAT A PRODUCTION !
You forgot to take handle & sign plates lights on the damage boot lid
I really like the bezels on the headlights. Nice car.👍👍
Chop the top that's all and a set of modern wheels and a strong engine ❤🎉
Cool car and the tear drop headlights awesome, I think that incredible possibilities for this is within reach 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I would repair damage parts of the body and paint to maintain the value of the vehicle. It's like land only so many left.
You can always chop and cut up something else that's now worth anything the way it is.
I like Lindsay, he is a cool guy.
Ya know cleaning up those original wheels just might look great. 👍 i kinda like em.
Surprised you got it can’t wait to see what you do to it 😊
I too, am devoted to stock original especially if this car is as solid as it appears. Good grief, it pulled itself up on the trailer. My 51 Studebaker couldn't do that in 74 when it was only 23 years old. I guess my question is which way will it bring more dollars, as a really tricked out custom or a fully restored stock version. Time is money. I don't recall a lot of popularity for this model. 36 and 40 have always seemed to garner more attention. So. . . how will that ultimately effect it's value as a stock restoration? Hum.
If it was me, I would rebuild the carb, and distributor, and fix the collision damage.
I would paint the trunk lid, hood and fenders a contrasting color like darker green or black to to hide the repairs done.
Enjoy it a mostly original....🤔🤔🤔👍
It’s your car so do what you want with it.Great camera work Jolene.😊
Love the 38, can't wait to see what you do to it.
Tear drop taillight lenses vary nice
I like the green 38 Ford I had one like it 68 to69 then army time sold it to the local rod club never saw it again
Do what ever you want its your car
I like the look of this one just the way it was when it came out of the assembly line - not a lot of room for improvement there. But you are a customizer, and the car belongs to you!
i think that owner backed into a tree to cause that much damage. Oh well , im happy that beauty is in your hands now. Yay ❗️
Hi Chad and Jolene from Trois-Rivieres Quebec
Hey, I’m for a Good Humor ice cream truck from the B Pilar forwards. The back end of the 38 through 40 sedans was uglier than a pug dog’s rear end. It would make for a nice nostalgic period piece. But, please fit it with some hydraulic brakes.
Sweet 38 Chad , I'm currently working on a 37 model 74 Tudor ! Have fun and looking forward to see what you are going to do !!
Nice pickup, always nice when it runs and drives... practically loads itself.
Nice Score, I thought you would of made slots on the trailer for your ramps.
Thats one of my favorite body style..repair the back area fake some patina then look at it. This ride looks prechopped!
Do the same as u did with. The plymoth.
Good choice 👌. I love the front end.
Always good to look into the trunk . Last car I got was a 46 Chrysler.. it has a flat trunk.. it didn't have a latch.. I towed over 200 miles home over the mountains and curves..I didn't know it had a transmission in laying in the trunk.. lucky it didn't fall out..😏..
I had one of these when I was 18 yrs old. I'm 75 now. I loved owning it and the girls did too. I'm envious of your project. Good luck with it!!
Oh wow the windshield cranks out
Great video thank you very well done.
Beautiful car!
Add a clear coat to the paint and keep it original? 😊
Do like you did with the 40, it would be crazy with a 3 window zephyr vibe, but the longer doors would stretch the side profile out, keep customizing, not all of what you do is my style but all of your stuff is amazing..
Do not mess up this one. This one is a nice survivor.
I Love the headlights and the wooden Interieur 😊
In my quest for knowledge, what exactly is the A pillar and B pillar. I'm imagining it's the columns that support the doors. Love those 30's auto's and your channel.......
Beautiful car, I love 38 Fords!
Beautiful country up there.
Sounds good❤.A friend owns a brown one inTexas with a fat head v8
Keep it original- it's a great survivor - such a great looking car 😊
Chad should build holders for those ramps under the trailer. So they slide out the back and are with the trailer all the time.
Keep up the good work enjoying the content!
Should definitely customize it!
No matter what you do- keep the front end. Super cool!
Hi Chad, Jolene, & Fina, I had kind of thought maybe a roof chop but, I changed my mind with the windshield that opens. You would'nt want to lose that feature. Jolene thank for taking us with you for another good video. I don't feel like saying much tonight, we had to put down one of our Saint Bernards she collapsed right when your video was starting, her spleen ruptured so it is a very sad night.
Chad if you pick up a pair of drive on ramps you can stick them in front of your rear wheels on your truck and drive up on them and that will give you a better angle to pull the car on the trailer. I do it all of the time
always loved the old zephyrs and fords with tear drop headlites chad
Super nice guy! For sure very down to earth
Very KOOL Car Chad and Jolene You forgot the Trunk
Like see this one painted
If the Austin is short enough, put the Thing on the frame and if you want to customized the Ford you should put hydraulic brake on it.i'm pretty sure Nat will agree.
Lower it chop it cruise it great video
I had a 40 ford cool old cars and they can be cool old hot rods our nice classic either way, that front end is gorgeous
It's a great car swell done!
With Nate in your corner you could make that into a grand touring car real easy, update the suspension motor and tranny add a vintage air and do all the wiring you’d have a fabulous daily driver.
I like that one!
How about an honest to God restoration. It will be awesome when finished, could you do it in stages as you feel motivated, I don’t think any of us doubt you, it would just give people an idea just how involved it is. No doubt you would make your money back either way!
Cheers !
I agree.
That is not Chad’s business model.
Went on a road trip with my dad many years ago in one of those here in NZ very rare care here at the bottom of world ,they cruze at 60 mph effortlessly can do 80 mph if you want but they pull from 30mph straight up hills from top gear no need to change down it was a lot fun my dad fully restored his one it was smooth, quiet, handled well here on NZ roads amazing car for day i would have one as daily driver no problem .
Cool old car
Awesome New Car 👍👍👍👍
Love the car as is…but ice cream truck comes to mind…..the front face of this car is absolutely beautiful….❤
I'd keep as stock as possible because they don't make em like that anymore and this one is in darn good shape it's a Beauty
There's got to be a way to customize it to make it better, or not. but it is old school cool, and a runner, good score.
looks good out in the light sounded preety good on start give it a tune go driving
Of course you customize it, that's what you do and are great at it!! Makes no sense to just fix the trunk and park it. Personally I'd like to see you make something weird out of your sports car body parts that's in your parts yard. I remember you got some body that didn't have doors, but it was pretty cool. See if you can make something out of that.
You got a nice car Chad and Jolene 👍
i hear Finas name so glad to see she is part of the family
Engine sounds solid, just needs some carburetor work and it would run awesome. Solid little 38 sedan
Love the look of this car...curious what you'll do to it..we shall 👀 see...cya tomorrow guys 😊
Did you get the trunk lids?
Love the channel. If by chance you might like to sell the steering wheel and/or column I would be interested. Thanks
Yeah it nice shape the old car 🚗 it be nice customized chad and Jolene is good on camera as always
The truck cab sounds like an interesting little side project……. don’t change the front of that car too much, it’s a great looking headlights and grill assembly.
Dont forget the Light for the boot lid its on the old dented one ...cool light it looks. IF YOU CHOP THE ROOF dont go nuts they look Cr*p with a heavy chop 2 to 3 inches tops, cool looking car. I would drive that as it is very cool
Hope u get to build his pickup! It looks "COOL" sitting in his yard.
Good evening Jolene and chad hope your doing well and thank you for sharing your journey
As much as we enjoy watching you create these machine we love ❤️ it when you take us out on your adventures ❤️😍🥰😘😘🥰😍🥰😘
That's in pretty good shape awsome
Fix the rear and enjoy as you do the 38 Chevy. Too nice to modify. Enjoy your content. Real craftsmanship.
Can not wait untill chad put his magic touch to it
Yes customize it. I like to learn
Put a 4x4 block under the trailer jack to lift
Loved the 38 ford
Yes Chad it's what you do... make it an old school Hot Rod . If you want..
Nice car indeed. Great addition
Carson Top Kustom would be cool.
Give this little beauty the Full Monty!!! From what I see, I'd be careful to save that cool painted dash, but everything else is in bounds and ready to play. I am eager to see this one in paint.
That has a lot of potential. Id love to see it chooped to just slits for windows then the tail stretched out and tapered off into the ground. Do the same for the fenders so they look like teardrops. Bag it and lay frame.
That's just my idea though. I know its more of a traditional look and chad likes to go more wild with his builds. Whatever he goes with, I'm sure it'll be cool.
Full restoration ,please. Show us how it done right. .
You might as well 🤷🏻♂️ it’s not like you have anything else to work on.
😂😂😂😂
😂
I would keep it stock, but it's yours to do with as you choose
