I enjoy delivery driving on the app and I hope you will too.
Thank you for your support and have a great day!
Hi Matt, greetings from Melbourne! I'm a 67 year old, semi-retired Truckie and been doing UbeEats for about 3 weeks now and love it. I recently bought a fully electric MG ZS and finding the car suits the job perfectly! I love your channel and find your videos very informative and helpful. After watching a few I felt totally confident in giving it a go. After my first pickup and delivery I felt at ease and now really enjoying it. I have only been working around 2 hours at lunch time and 2 or three hours late afternoon making an average of $100 per day...brilliant! Anyway, keep those video s coming!!
Hi Ralph. Thank you for your kind words. I am always happy to hear that I have helped someone get started on the app. The electric MG does sound perfect for the role. Enjoy the new vehicle and your time on the app in that beautiful city 😀
How much does it cost for charging MG for each day ?
@@raveenp8988 I would normally park up at home with around 50% charge in the battery and plug it in to a standard 3 pin, 10amp socket for an overnight charge for a cost of about $4. If I had to use a public rapid charger, that would be about $7. A full battery is good for around 300kms.
A point about EVs and range, EVs actually get better range with suburban/city driving rather than Highway driving. With all modern EVs, when you take your foot off the accelerator, regenerative braking puts charge back into the battery!
Thanks for your input mate. Hope it's all going well.
Love the vids I work 12 hr shifts have plenty of days off just don’t want to do overtime at my work. Have Been enjoying Uber eats. 😊. In my spare time usually just Grind 5-6 hrs goes quick for me since I’m used to working 12hrs.
Wow. You work very hard! Glad to hear you are going well on the app. Keep it up! 😀
You got the jackpot with that magical unicorn KFC 😂 I UberEats and DoorDash and have picked up from KFC in Melbourne, Shepparton, Albury and Wagga. I’ve never had a KFC order ready in less than 10mins, most of the time it’s 15 or more. I’ll only take one if I need to squeeze an order out in a quest
😆 thanks for watching! I have picked up at a couple now and havent had any really long waits yet. Touch wood!
Hey buddy!!!
Man sydney is sooooo quiet now. Its really bad. Had nothing for over an hour. Before Usually when i log on i get an order within seconds or a minute.
Not anymore
Hey mate. Nice to hear from you. Yes this time of year is quiet plus cost of living pressure is hitting HARD!
I took January off and have just started again yesterday but yeah its quiet. It should pick up over the next few weeks as people get back to a routine after school holidays. Hang in there, I know its tough.
Enjoying your channel. Do you need to tell your car insurer and/or rego that you are using your car for uber eats?
Thanks for watching! Yes its best to update your insurance. It will increase the premium so its your call whether you do tell them or take a small risk.
@@deliverwithmatt thanks for answering!
You're welcome!
Great content! Where did you buy that dual carry insulated bag?
Thank you for watching and commenting! The large bag is from Detpak. It can be hard to find on their website though. I will try and find the link and post.
This is the same type on ebay

@@deliverwithmatt amazing thank you so much!
No problem!
@@deliverwithmatt picked one up on Amazon and arrived today! Thanks for the tip it’s actually a really good bag!
Binging your videos now haha 😂
Hi Matt, do you have the option to 'Pack and Deliver' at groceries stores? Apparently only certain Uber Eats drivers are eligible for this extra earning opportunity, but not sure how to become eligible.
Hi Andrew. I have not received any notification about this option during my time on the app. Adelaide is a small market though so I believe there are options that just wouldn't be available to drivers here. Sorry I can't assist with this one!
this should now be more available nation wide as i (in melb) got my about 1 month ago. Its def a good way to make extra money by not driving the car. got $44 for one last week, although it was for 46 items and the whole process took me 55 mins.
@@dennisjovanovic7246 wow that’s really good pay for the time spent 👍 too bad I haven’t got any shop and pay order yet, even though I’ve already got the feature set up. Hope to get one shopping order soon
@@JinHee1986 don’t worry they’ll come soon. I usually get on average 1 a night sometimes 2-3 later in the evening but they usually vary from $17-25, that $44 was a lucky one haha. If you stick around coles and there are not many food orders, that’s when I usually find I get them.
With Uber Eats do have to accept a block of hours ,maybe 3 or 4 hours or is it more flexible ? While I can work 3 hours on a Saturday evening ,I could work for an hour or two on 2 - 3 days during the week but that is not possible with Menulog .
Uber Eats is completely flexible. No need to book or schedule times. Once you have an account you simply log on and off whenever you want.
Hey again. Is it normal for February to be a slow month? Started my first day but finished with no orders accepting at all, 4 total for about 4 hours and pretty much. Starting from 8 to 12. Noticed my area has a lot of drivers and my area is with about 60k+ population, not everyone do uber but still a lot of drivers.
Also would like to ask you are you familiar if uber sends more orders to car drivers compared to scooter ones?
Thanks.
Hi there. It is quiet here in Aus but not that quiet. Inflation and interest rate rises means less spare money for households. Did you work 8am or 8pm? I am not sure if car drivers get more orders. I wouldnt think so but dont know. Sorry its been quiet. I hear this from drivers all over.
@@deliverwithmatt No,couldnt say ive worked, just waiting for good order to come. Did 4 hours total and called it off, since its global by what I see. Too many people from USA,forums are fire on UE topic, people from UK friends say the same thing and I talk about people who've done 200, 200+ a day , doing 3-4 orders per hour.
And here comes the multiapping to the rescue in such periods.
How are things at yours is it the same or similar to mine or a bit better.
Indeed is unfortunate that had to start this way,but I hope this is not the future of UE
I only work sometimes an hour at lunch and a couple hours at dinner because I work during the day. My main shifts are weekends when it tends to be better. It will recover over time but will be quiet for a while.
Is bank employees are allowed to do multiple side hustle like Uber eats?
Hi there. I dont see why not. Maybe check your emploment contract if you are worried.
Been enjoying the videos Matt. Hope you begin uploading more soon. Do you have Instagram?
Thank you for watching! I don't have Instagram. Not enough time in the day for so many platforms! I'm old 😂
Haven’t driven in a week and got a quest for New Year’s Eve
Hey me too mate. Quests at this time of year are a bit hit and miss though because its quiet. Mine is for 7am to 5pm 12 trips.
@@deliverwithmattgot 5-11:59pm for 12 trips so prime dinner into late night
Hope it goes well 👍
@@deliverwithmatt you were right with it being hit and miss, took 5 hours for 12 trips that started during normal Saturday dinner time, would of normally taken around 3 hours
@Tyrlisele damn I was hoping you were going to have a fast finish. Yep the next month will be up and down but mostly down!
I notice you never seem to look up the address you are delivering to ,is that part edited out or is Adelaide very easy to locate any address ? I had a pick up last week from a restaurant that had the address as A1 North Altona and of course I could not find it and the job was given to someone else .
It's probably two things. Accurate address info in app and many years of local delivery knowledge. If you are getting an address of A1 then that is just not good enough on the customer's side. They can't expect you to find that! There is one road here that is listed as B26 but usually you should also have a street number to go with it. Adelaide is quite easy to navigate also. Very much a grid.
Do you drive in cbd or south Adelaide
I avoid the most of the CBD. I usually drive within 7km of the city. Thats where the most restaurants are.
Hi there , do you do alcohol deliveries ?
Also do you get lots of quests ? In Melbourne get it each week ranging from mon to thur.. and Friday morning to Sunday night and then evening quests for Friday , sat and Sunday . I was about to make $730 at 21 hours .
I have been doing this for a month now and thanks to your videos giving me confidence to do it .. keep it up !
Hi Dee! Not many quests in Adelaide lately. Adelaide is a quiet market this time of year. Glad you are going well in Melbourne though. It really helps to have quests to work on all week.
I have never done an alcohol delivery. I feel like we dont get them in Adelaide. There are other couriers who do alcohol in Adelaide.
I am very glad to hear that the gig is working out for you and that my videos helped. This makes it the channel worthwhile 😀
Thank you :) .. yes Melbourne bigger city so there are many options to deliver .
@@deek5850 definitely more activity and business happening in Melbourne :)
Hey, curious about is it possible to get deactivated on uber if you arrive late to the customer 10-15 minutes longer than the estimated time due to bad restaurant organization and traffic jam happening couple of times a day?
Hi there. I havent heard of this before. A restaurant can easily be 10 minutes late with an order so I would not be worried about deactivation. I also wouldnt pick up at restairants that are consistently slow 😀
Thanks for the fast answer. What are your thoughts for a new driver applying The cherry-picky on offers ? For people being in the game for some time is not a problem but what when it comes to a new driver applying the cherry-picky technique from first day . Example everything under 10 is not accepted , and can happen to decline at least minimum 4 to get to a good one. Btw familiar that if you cancel often you are gonna get deactivated, but can similar be said for this declining orders from day 1 with no acceptance rating and client satisfaction being developed ?
In Australia the driver agreement states you can decline as many orders as you like with no consequence however accepting then cancelling will get you in trouble eventually. My advice for new drivers is to accept orders because you dont know restaurants etc. You dont know what to cherry pick. You need to learn your market. For example if I cherry picked 1 in every 5 orders here in Adelaide I would make no money as there are not enough orders.
@@deliverwithmatt Thanks. You're absolutely right about accepting in the beggining to know your area as fast as possible .
If i may ask you also how is your experiece with customers? Have you ever had a bad experience with a customer out of nowhere and making false complaints about you and if yes how you dealt with this issue?
Thanks.
How much do u make a week
I dont drive full time. I only drive a peak times. If I drove everyday I would expect to average $25-$30 per hour at peak times.
I am waiting for my anb number. I will start soon. Is the tax at 20 %?
Search "ATO weekly tax withholding". You will see a pdf tgat breaksdown tax you should withhold wvery week based on your earning. You will have deductions to reduce the tax amount also.
You keep telling people it’s “super easy” that’s why customers think they don’t need to tip that much. There’s a lot that goes into it and people should know this so they can appreciate delivery drivers more.
There's really not a lot that goes into it, mate! Not sure where you are located but Australia is not a tipping culture and we should not be promoting a tipping culture here. Drivers should get paid a rate that is commensurate with the skill and investment that is needed to do the job. When we are relying on people to tip I am out.
@@deliverwithmatt So a lot doesn’t go into it? You don’t put wear and tear, mileage, gas, oil changes, car maintenance, etc? You never run around not being able to find apartment numbers, missing gate codes, building numbers, etc? You don’t put yourself at the very least at minimal risk of creepy people and dog attacks? I guess what others have told me is wrong. I misunderstood the line of work.
@Taylor Made not sure what you are upset about there. If you feel my video with 300 views is what is stopping you from making money or getting tips thats ok. I feel like there are probably other factors influencing your outcomes that are more important to look at than my presence on TH-cam. I simply put my experiences out there for others. Feel free to do the same friend.
