I owned a set of Abu Garcia Pro Max, baitcaster (Pmax3) & rod (PMAXC602ML). Both working fine, no hiccups. Guides are solidly intact, no problem at all. I just loved it. They are such a beauty. Am using a 20-lbs main line @ Dia 0.16mm

I might know why the guides are falling of the pro max on the rod it says 10-20 pound test you said you put 40 pound test on it

Is only the tip guide insert falling out? Because tip guides(the entire guide) are quite easy to replace. Just heat it up a bit so the glue loosens, and pull it of the tip of the rod. Then replace it with a fuji tip guide or something else high quality with either some hot glue or some 5 min epoxy.

Youre review hit in right on the head. Ive actually got the pro max reel on the ultra max rod. Wondering as to why you havent tried that yourself. The pro max rod was just not up to par.

Pleasantly surprised with the pro max reel. I throw small swimbaits from keitechs to the Huddleston 68 on it. No issues so far!

I think it’s just your eyelet that falls off I have the pro max and many of my friends and family own it and they are not broken
