Nice, the forward control install was easier than what I thought it would be, I've toyed with the idea of the throttle lock, but with the oxford heated grips they get in the way of all that extra stuff.
The top mounted lock is specifically made for if you have heated grips 🤙😁
I made some for mine a couple years ago and they’re amazing. Makes it feel like a completely different bike.
When I get a spot to work with some power tools I think I'm gonna remake the brackets

Just discovered your channel, subscribed and began watching your videos. I'm in NYC as well - divided between getting the Bolt or the Phantom. You're making me lean toward your bike. Awesome videos - making me a believer.

If you are going Japanese definitely get the Bolt. I'm assuming you meant the Honda Shadow Phantom 750. That bike has tube type tires. I have been stranded by tube type tires more times than I care to think about, and almost killed a couple of times when a tube blew out at highway speeds. One of those times I actually dropped the bike after running off the road, fortunately I had gotten the speed way down, and was not injured, minimal damage to the bike. Even if you survive, a flat with tube type tires means a tow truck and big $$$. I've never had a flat with tubeless tires on the road, but if you do, you can just plug them, reinflate them, and be on your way. I have a 1966 Triumph Bonneville, and won't ride it more than 50 miles from home. I stay within the towing limit of my road service plan. If you plan on actually going somewhere, you NEED tubeless tires.
@Gerald Scott well, Bolts also came with the laced wheels after 2014 that required tubes I think. Regardless, mags rule and everyone should have them 😂
You should see if there is a seat for the bolt that will set you back a little, that may help you stretch out a bit
I think that's next. A saddleman seat should set me back and my buddy has one I can try out before buying

Hello from Argentina :-p great video, I already have the forward controls but havent yet install them! Are those the original rear shocks? I have a 2018 and had to change to the Hogan ones because here was damn impossible to ride without bumping the shitty roads.
Yes my suspension is original. I'd like to change it but everything I find is taller, which I don't want, I like the height it's at now. You'll like the forward controls, it sits much better
Hopefully all the work you have done helps with the comfort of your longer rides.

No rush for a reply thanks, but why are you adding those extensions ?
They're just forward controls to extend my legs out more, it's more comfortable on longer rides
@@WhiskeyChaser I can dig it - but why not foot pegs , or you don't have front crash bars ? . Now I think I understand - I tried foot pegs, but NG in being in the way of my driving lights. Sometimes if not Pillion, id stretch to my back seat , or stretch my legs to the rear foot pegs when leaning forward to be aero-dyynamic -
This is pretty much the only option to move the pegs forward for this bike. Now, in addition to these, I also have a crash bar that I can extend out even further on if I need to.

What's the highway cruse speed on the bolt
I usually cruise around town around 55-65 but I can go long distance at 75-80 no problem

@@Yolouu13 yeah they just came out like a month or two ago so that makes sense. Other than them I'm not sure who is making them S&S made the best ones but they stopped a long time ago
I don’t think you paid too much check out the OEM extension from Yamaha you only get 2.5 inches of extension for $498.. now that is a real rip off!

After the last year I'm still oretry happy with it. I'll say it's still SUBSTANTIALLY better than the factory mids, for sure.

My brother & I just installed this MDU kit yesterday. Have you any issues with the shift link bar scraping your foot peg/kick stand mounting bracket? I do, and therefore cannot reliably downshift. The shift peg does not reset on its own. I have to, once in 5th gear, lift up on the shifter some, to reset, then downshift into 4th when needed, manually reset again, then downshift, repeat. Makes slowing down and throttle a problem.
I had a problem with the linkage scraping, yes. After I played around with the adjustment nuts a little bit I got it to where it was no longer touching. Shifter is a little higher than what I would have liked but at least it's free to move reliably. Stay safe out there, let me know if you have any more questions!
