Seeing from an outsider perspective. Hitchhiker knew for sure you were hiding somewhere, but couldn't find you. So he pretended to go away to persuade you to go out of your hiding spot. Then, he did a 160 and went for a "gacha, bitch!" moment xD
Personally I think the game is pretty balanced however you HAVE to communicate when playing family which does make it a bit more challenging compared to victim you can actually leave without ever speaking to anyone
