@@terryodia1971 Technically, there was disruption and even a floodgate up . . . but it only was for monsters. He would've needed to search Raider's Unbreakable Mind with Bardiche in order to have a single backrow negate in that board.

@@grayshadow2597 If by "often" you mean "basically never" because all it takes is one omni-negate/Tri-Brigade banish/Skill Drain/Kaiju/Floodgate Trap Hole/Cyber Dragon infinity saying "This is my material now"/etc. to completely fuck your day up then yeah. I see this "often."

From what I've seen , people who hate flooded boards or don't want to waste time tend to surrender. I wouldn't just for the small hope of maybe getting a chance before losing. I still need to play just for the dailies to count
Well, to be fair I can atest to not surrendering when my opponent locked my board for a good 5 turns (they were using Sky Striker) and then being surprised that when I was about to, they did instead. Sometimes, even when all hope seems lost, a messed up combo will throw off anyone.
There are 3 way to for that toon player to screw with the enemy. 1. using shadow toon to otk them, 2. if shadow toon is negated, use comic hand to steal the 15 k monster, 3. if that negated as well use toon library of content to get a shadow toon or comic hand
4.repeat
Shadow toon has a hard once per turn, so you can only use the comic hand twice or more.

I've noticed while watching gx that that's pretty much how they evaluate how good someone is, for example in one of the zane vs jaden duels zane starts out with poly and 3 cyber dragons and when he immediately plays it they are all like "oh wow he's sooooooo good" when it just seems like everyone in the anime kinda chooses their cards in the opening hand for what they feel like playing at that moment, its kinda ridiculous

As a fellow Toon player, this pleases me...GREATLY. I faced a Galaxy Eyes player and they had a 4000 ATK. I activated Shadow Toon and he lost 4000 life points, then I used Comic Hand to steal his monster then attacked him directly to finish him. He had Mirror Force but thanks to Toon Kingdom's effect, it didn't work and that was my first OTK lol ill never forget it.

Magic negate. And yes, the opponent was a dumbass. But the main negate is the monsters one.

Literally just today I saw someone go even harder. The match literally took 6 minutes of him using over 20 cards of his deck. I surrendered cuz I was not about to deal with that.

You can make better than that when opening Simoon too. I run a build that takes another combo path ending with Ultimate Falcon, Redoer, Bardiche, Gagagaga Magician, and an Arsenal Falcon that you'll rank up into Kali Yuga as soon as they play their first card. It just ends their turn and Heavy Storms the board on their end phase. And if your opener has two more BW's past activating Simoon, you can make Full Armor Master or Borreload Savage on top of everything else. I have not lost a game yet in which I've performed the standard combo turn 1.

Idk if this guy runs Kali Yuga or Borrelload Savage Dragon, but generally raidraptor plays usually spit negation or stun, this guy however stunned himself by using arc rebellion's effect.

@Maday Aquino Raider’s Knight’s effect means that the arc rebellion would’ve been sent to the graveyard at the opponent’s end phase anyway, so it was 100% a flex. But then again, any flex to get a 15500 ATK monster on the field is a worthwhile one
@@thinkon2127 Arc rebellion is immune to destruction effects. So raiders knights' side effect of the xyz monster being destroyed at the end phase, wasn't gonna work. Hence why arc rebellion is a good target for raiders knight effect.
To be fair no one would play around shadow toon of all cards in a BO1 format.

While that board may seem op it didn't have any omni negates. So in a way ultimateness with 4 negates is way better
I play a similar deck, and that player either just wanted to flex or he had no idea of what he was doing. First of all Arc Rebellion is a trump card, something that you whip out only when you literally can't do nothing else. Second instead of True King of All Calamities he should have summoned Kali Yuga at the start of the opponent's turn using Arsenal Falcon and the rank up magic, that would have completely shut down almost any deck
Well there was no negation present but he did have a VFD and 2 towers + 2 book of moons thanks to nightmare, it wasn't the most oppressive board (Honestly he should've gone with Kali Yuga turbo), but was neat nonetheless

This feels like Pegasus fighting a strong opponent but like... Since the opponent is not Yugi, he pulls bs like this to establish threat.
The annoying part is that he could have easily made a powerful omni negate board by using either cyber dragon infinity or Kali Yuga.
Instead he made a board completely susceptible to spells and summoned arc rebellion xyz dragon for no reason whatsoever.
Just for pure flex
When you spend 10 hours practicing your OTK combo, but forget you have to go first sometimes.
Using Simoon at the very start locks you into DARK Extra Deck monsters for that turn so you can't get Infinity.

Lmao something similar happened to me. My opponent went nuts making a big board play during his first turn; he summoned a plethora of Thundra/Link monsters including Apollousa, Titan, Colossus and such just to get Dark ruler no more'd when It got my turn...
Wasting your opponents time for summoning half of your deck and getting destroyed by a two card combo is the best revenge you can ever do.

What we are seeing here is a rite of passage. You hear it all the time from experienced players. Never, *Ever,* make your biggest, most flashy plays on turn 1. On some level, you might even acknowledge it. However, you always need to get checked by something like this to fully know and understand why that's a bad idea. Forget the board full of monsters.
