I have been celiac since 2009. I have traveled a ton but have an added layer of being vegetarian. On flights I have always ordered the Jain meal and as long as I don't have the nann bread I haven't had any issues. Much more flavour then the Gluten free meals I have seen. Also if I'm feeling unsure on my travels Indian food is my go to for safe. As long as you know the curries that are safe it is a good go to when feeling overwhelmed.

Yes this! I took a long haul flight a couple months ago and mannnn do I wish I booked a gluten free meal…it was tricky trying to be so careful (I’m celiac but not 100% avoiding…I know bad but I’ll get there someday) They give you SO MUCH BREAD on flights! I never realized that before being celiac. I think another thing I was worried about was if the gluten free meal would be something I would eat (I don’t really eat fish so I would hate for that to be the option) Do they give you a preview of what will be available for the meal? - Thanks for showing all this!

Delta tip: delta seems to have trouble sharing meal selections with partner airlines. Eventually an AirFrance Flight Attendant told us it was a general problem with their Delta partnered flights. We've had better luck by calling the actual airline operating the flight and requesting a GF meal, but still haven't had a 100% success rate yet. 😕
