i have been getting some water in the trunk how can i eliminate that. also 3rd gear has been grinding a bit, is it typically a synchro ?

Trunk water can’t figure out where is coming from because is not from the top because the rug is dry

it could be the rubber seal around the boot, also under the spare wheel i think there’s a drain bung,take sure this is still firmly in place as it might get in here. as for 3rd gear yes most likely a synchro
