Adam dedicated this song to the victims of the Pulse Nightclub shooting that occurred the night before. You can hear the pain that he felt. Roger said he never heard Adam perform it quite like that before.
They talk about this performance on their documentary The Show Must Go On. Adam's just incredible! I was looking forward to seeing him sing this on their tour this last fall. He sang it and then there's a spot in the stage that takes him down below at the end of the song...very dramatic. When he sang Somebody to Love he holds the note for over 20 seconds. He's an incredible singer and he's also so funny. Someone has currently been putting together Adam's funny moments and they're at 9 videos right now. If you get a chance you may want to watch them. I think it explains why his fans love him so much. He's an incredible singer that you always read about how fantastic he is as a person by his fans that have met him and anyone that has worked with him. He's also a big goofball, a guess that's the best way to put it. One thing that has stuck out to me was when he did his Witch Hunt tour in 2022. He wore an outfit with glittery horns and someone accused him of being a devil or something like that. He just said Hey I'm just a gay with a glue gun...lol. He pointed at them at the show I went to and laughed and said I'm so horny. He's just having fun. He can change the way he sings a song night after night. I've never been a person that has followed a band or singer, but Adam has something about him that draws you in.
I just saw Queen + Adam last month at the BMO Stadium in Los Angeles!! Took my 6 yr old granddaughter, we sang & danced. I thought their performance of this song was amazing!!! I’d like to recommend TIE YOUR MOTHER DOWN by Queen live in Montreal 1981. Banger!! 🎸💥
Excellent reaction! Roger Taylor and Dr. Sir Brian May (he has a phd in astrophysics and received a knighthood earlier this year) absolutely adore him! It's with excellent reason that Dr. Sir Brian calls Adam the "Gift from God"! Adam is just otherworldly yet is so humble, sweet, funny and down to earth!! In 2019 during the first American, Asian, Australia, New Zealand branch of their Rhapsody Tour, Dr. Sir Brian and Roger started calling Adam their "new/slightly younger brother"! There is no arguing with that! After all these years with Queen, he still has these moments where he hits those stratospheric notes and Dr. Sir Brian and Roger have these looks on their faces that are a mix of complete astonishment/surprise that just say "What did he just do?" and have such love and pride for him and they are grinning from ear to ear, it's priceless!
