I dont think it should be strange at all to think a lot of the dishes on kitchen nightmares look decent even though gordon ramsay rips through them. I mean at face value most of those look pretty "normal" to me, but I can also admit that I dont have high standards when it comes to food and that like 80% of Gordon's criticisms do make sense. Personally all I need is for the food to taste like what it is and be value for money.
But then the show also does expose a lot of other things like moldy food and disgusting kitchen, which even I would be grossed out by. Plus if they're asking for help, then clearly the quality and customers they're bringing in with said quality isnt enough to sustain the cost of the restaurant

Every time a chef says "I have plenty of people who say they love my ____"
    The "plenty of people":
    - their mom
    - their spouse
    - their best friend
    - their drinking buds
    - their terrified staff
    - their elderly regular who is just being polite and supportive because they're nostalgic and afraid of change

That's what I, and a lot of other people, like about him too. He worked his way to the top and knows that wait staff isn't at fault for whatever is going on in the kitchen and in management, their job is just to serve the food and in some cases even they feel bad for serving bad food, take into account the fact that they also take all the abuse from customers when it's subpar. He's not below talking back to customers either when they are in the wrong. There was this episode during reopening night when one woman was obviously trying to get the food for free by constantly complaining that it was bad even though it couldn't have been. Gordon didn't spare her.

Those saying about him complaining about too much lobster theres a reason hes at the restaurant. The sole purpose of him being there is to turn the business around so it can make money not lose it. Portion control is extremely important when you're running a restaurant. Think about it if you were to cut that lobster portion down how many more dinners youd have.

I love how so many people can collectively agree, that with Gordon's Ramsay's "Disgusting" label is slapped onto something, we'd still give it a go💀

Bro, that pizza's more cooked than the one they served at my school 💀. Ours was literally dough with melted cheese on top. They probably melted the cheese in a microwave because literally none of it was cooked.
