My manifold on my 2002 Nissan Frontier KA24DE 4 cylinder has 6 points of entry for coolant and leaks tend to be a big problem as these trucks age. If you can bypass this, it will avoid the problem.
What’s the purpose of this mod. Jw, does it have a performance advantage, better fuel mileage? I like to tinker with my Frontier too. Keep the video mods coming. 👍👍
You’re not likely to notice a difference - especially if that’s all you’re doing. The equation falls at about 1hp gain for every 10* reduction of intake air temps. If you have an aluminum manifold, then the bypass along with a phenolic spacer kit will show excellent gains. Gains due to elongation of intake path and (if aluminum) due to added heat reduction.
Well if you dont live on the north pole like i do. Its kinda unnecessary. Hot coolant swirling thru the throttle body is for keeping the throttle body from freezing, helping the truck warm up etc. If you live in a hot climate, it may be heating yoir intake air robbing you of a dab of HP. Considering how small the TB is and we have a plastic intake, i dont figure it hurts much. Nothing wrong with doing it, give it a whirl.
Having the coolant bypass the throttle body has been proven to gain a couple hp. Apparently enough to feel. I just found out about this mod, I live where it’s cold so I plan to put a valve on one of the hoses so I can turn it on if the throttle body ever has issues or freezes shut.
I am looking to bypass the manifold coolant on a 2002 Nissan Frontier KA24DE 2.4 L engine. Any guidance or videos on this?
thanks for vid kind sir ...it would have been even better if you would have explained why the bypass
Nice easy straight to point, I seen this year's ago an I was like why they do this, today we fix this an mod the frontier, ggz
What is the purpose of doing this ? You did NOT explain anything.?????
What is the "Gain" by doing this ? Actually it doesn't make any sense to me.
I had the same concerns. What actually is the point of doing this
By running the coolant through there throttle body the air entering the engine gets heated up and robs horsepower

Short sweet to the point like that
Wouldn 't that be a coupling instead of a splicer?
Wait a minute! What happen to your oil catch can?

Like your videos
Does it work
Works wonderfully

Run some AC lines through where you’ve got the plugs in and you’ll get the best cold air ever! Haha

@@badgermetal I doubt you could "feel" the difference. I do know that it will get you a fail at your next smog check though.
