  • Here's Why You Never Mess With a Royal Guard
For over 500 years, the British Royal Family and its properties have been guarded 24/7 by an elite team of soldiers. Formerly known as the Queen’s Royal Guard, they've famously stood guard at Britain’s Buckingham palace and other royal residences for centuries. These highly-trained soldiers are an ever-present force, presenting extreme discipline and self-control, But what happens when a Royal Guard comes face to face with people that disrespect the tradition? Sit back and relax as we count down some of the craziest encounters with the queen's royal guards, kings guards, and Beefeaters. From them getting mad to breaking character and everything in between!

They are all legends. That's the truth. They're not assh*les because they scream at you, you are the assh*le if you stand in their way or mock them for fun, and, you sure deserve nothing more to be painfully screamed at.
I have a huge respect for these soldiers as their training is equal harsh as to any other kind of soldiers, if not more. And their loyalty above any standards. It might be that they don't go to war, but if, may God have mercy for their enemies, because these soldiers definitely won't show any and their enemies surely stand no chance.

It really makes me angry the disrespect that some people show to the Royal Guards. All of these soldiers have fought in combat, served our country with pride and bravery, and being in the guard is a great honour. Both of my grandfathers were in the British Military, and every time we were in London and saw the guards, they would salute and show proper respect. Tourists need to understand, these guards are not there as a novelty, they continue to serve their country, and deserve the respect they have rightly earned

I spoke to a royal guard named Alfie he is currently in active service and one of the questions i had was. Is he allowed to interact with the civilians. He said while its not recommended highly. Sometimes depending on the time of day and situation it is perfectly fine to talk to them. They are not hardly punished for it unless it is a event / suspected crimes at the time / suspicion of civilians. They receive fines but would never be fired for being human. the most memorial thing he said was love and kindness are never wasted. A smile keeps your enemy's happy.

You are so right. People have to learn to behave and to show respect. Both is a lack nowerdays. Everything seems just to happen for peoples "fun". To have fun the tourists should go to Disneyland or Disneyworld and start touching everything. I am quite sure that the officials there will send them away, even if they payed for the entranc fee. And.....watching the guard/soldiers is still for free.
When I was young and visited London there was no touching of horses and guardsmen and photographs were taken only after asking for permission. Would be nice if we could turn again to good behaviour and politeness / respect.

Lol... That's so true. My brother lived in London for 10 years and we were there almost every weekend, sometimes until the next weekend. I've never heard them say anything until now either. But I could just never take them seriously, I found them so amusing. No disrespect to them but I'd rather have fully dressed military soldiers ready for combat...big ass ammo on display, the kinda shit you don't even wanna look at..lol... I don't have all that coz I look after myself and family and friends and neighbours and community, like about the other millions of us out there. Rather it be spent on something more useful.. like the NHS, homelessness, education sports and the list goes on. You know what I mean jelly beans.

These guys are not messing around. They're serving soldiers, doing their duty, protecting the Royal Family and the royal residences. And if you think they're a touch rude or angry, just remember what happened to Fusilier Lee Rigby. For those of you who don't remember what happened, I suggest you look it up. There's no telling when they'll be called into action for real, so they're on alert all the time.
