    The DJI FPV Arm Bracers may costs only $20 but I think they maybe more valuable than purchasing DJI Care Refresh. While out filming a video about the Osmo Action 2 - Overheating, I accidentally sent the DJI FPV crashing down, and quite remarkably it survived the entire ordeal. And I think it's all thanks to this $20 piece of plastic from DJI. 100% a must-have accessory if you own a DJI FPV

    Got braces before even flying for the first time. Crashed multiple times while doing chases close to the ground doing 45mph drone rolled battery flew out, propellers completely destroyed on 2 arms BUT no arms broken. Replaced propellers popped battery back in and went back to flying. These braces saved me thousands of $$$. Yes get the braces 100% amazing addition to DJI FPV drone!!

      I attempted to fly through a football goal at 55mph, but unfortunately hit the cross bar and did a Tony yaboah.....lost feed to the drone immediately. Thinking its a gonner, turns out the battery got tossed out of the drone and 2 propellors were bent and I broke a landing gear and broke that circuit board also.
      But the drone survived, all because I had arm braces on. Not these ones in the video but the braces that support from the middle rather than the ends.
      I may get these also for added support for the landing gears and use both.😊

    I crashed my FPV on my first attempt in manual mode. It was a light crash from only a few feet up, but it still resulted in my right front arm receiving a hairline fracture. Using some electrical tape, I repaired it to the best of my abilities and it seems to hold when i would attempt to flex it. Fast forward a few weeks of normal and sport mode safety flying. I now have the arm bracers installed and have since crashed 2 more times. The first of the crashes was minor, no more than the one that caused the first break, however this time with the bracers, no damage was sustained. The second was much worse. Flying in sport mode around a large property, I got cocky and tried to fly around a tree at 30 ish mph. This did not work out well. My FPV flew right into the tree, got its props caught up, and went down hard, hitting every branch on the way down. Damage sustained; 1 small crack on the plastic holding the gimbal, zero effect to the drone's flying or recording capabilities. These bracers are 1000% worth the $20.

    I’m new to FPV so I bought the arms when I bought the drone. I’ve crashed 2 times which no damage and the 2nd crash was pretty bad. Practicing dives I ran it into the ground going pretty fast and smashed the ND filter. No damage outside of dust getting inside. I don’t have first hand knowledge of crashing without the bracers or been flying long enough/enough skill to know if they affect my flying. As far as I can tell they are a solid purchase.

    Hi everyone
    The main problem is very powerful motor ,when the propeller hits something the power of this hit moves along the arm and damages the weakest point which is connections between the arm and internal frame.I have experienced this couple of times.Only propellers guards can give you more security.

  • @FPVSlice
    @FPVSlice 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Thanks for the test! They definitely help, although it really depends how you crash with these, if you hit the arms upside down there is a bigger change of breaking those, because there is less structural rigidity that way.
    I found that out by crashing mine this way 🙈

      @JeremyToh  2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yeah I grabbed a pair of these as soon as I saw them on Amazon and I wondered too why didn’t they make these a standard issue option. I also picked up the after market camera protection brace which only makes sense too. Clearly this drone ain’t built for crashing but I survived the single spill I had since installing these safety attachments and whether or not they prevented more damage than a bent prop I can’t say but they don’t affect flight characteristics and make me feel better. Oh one last thing if you own those awesome DJI goggles if you haven’t already bought the fitted lens protector/antenna holder you should immediately. Exposure to direct sunlight ruins them. Best ten bucks I’ve spent in this pricey endeavor.

    My buddy and I each have a DJI FPV and we once both crashed on the same day. I fly w/o the arm bracers and took a hard crash from 50’ at 45mph resulting in 2 broken arms and a motor. Repair cost, $290 Canadian. My buddy who flies w/bracers was flying slowly -10 mph thru an open window of a bando and clipped the side and fell 6’+/- and he had damages that cost him $275 cad. Are they worth it? Maybe while flying low and over grass, yes. Flying full throttle, w/ or w/o bracers forget it.

      It’s a GoPro Helmet Extension Arm, get a generic one will do. Just FYI, if you place the Action 2 behind the FPV, it can be a bit tricky to take off and land, because it unbalances the FPv. But I think the shots are well worth it the hassle and risk. Good luck mate.

    • @BakoRick
      @BakoRick ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Stronger = more weight on an already very heavy drone. You'd get less battery life and ability out of the drone.
      They could have used better materials but then your running the price up on an already expensive drone. I'm hoping the aftermarket market makes some options as time moves forward. For now the best thing DJI did was create the simulator for pilots who have never flown in acro. DJI care / refresh is also something to look at.
      It's impossible to get a feature packed drone like the FPV that is very tough, has all the flight characteristics of a traditional FPV and is inexpensive. Someday perhaps.

  • @mckrackin5324
    @mckrackin5324 ปีที่แล้ว

    They would obviously help because it requires breaking two arms at once and two is harder to break than one. That aside, let's talk about the third person view camera boom. Do they make something like that for the Avata? I need this in my life. lol

One of my fly more kits from amazon even gave me a warning on one battery being a non genuine DJI product in the flyapp and wouldnt let me upgrade the firmware. I think DJI is just outsourcing to the lowest bidder for battery production and poor quality has bit them in the butt, because the quality on these new ones are not the same, about 2 min less flight time than my older ones.

Buy or build a real fpv freestyle drone if you want to fly aerobatics at all and keep the DJI FPV in normal or sport mode. If you fly proximity or acrobatically, you WILL eventually crash. Period, so just don't do it unless you don't care about the cost or hassle of repairs! You'll thank me!
