I respect all, but to my understanding none in the history of modern vedantic studies is so clear and articulate as Swami Sarvapriyananda is. Others complicate things. They weave the web of mystery around their wisdom. They laugh a lot and try to make others flabbergasted, but Sarvapriyananda ji is always straight and he goes to the core of subject very lucidly. It is very convincing. It overwhelms us and we are turned to our true original nature instantly. Pranams Maharaj ji.

Once again a fascinating insight into vedanta.
Loved the way swamiji.. So respectfully mentioned the new age Western teachers like Tolle and Spira, their teachings in this impatient world which is without the age old qualifications that vedanta insists. Not only is he respectful.. Which is so rare.. Also he found an excuse of the impatient world.
You are absolutely Rare swamiji. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

I leave all other maya and come to this maya.. it keeps me a little closer to reality.

  • @nathanielanderson4898
    @nathanielanderson4898 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Experiencing inner truth allowed me to change my reality. Reality as I perceive it is different than truth.
    Truth is not changing.
But reality is our relationship with the truth. My happiness is my reality. I can choose to be happy regardless of the truth. This doesn't mean that I will never feel sorrow or morn for the suffering of another. It means that I will embrace the truth as it comes. I will allow myself to morn. But it will not take over. Happiness is a decision that people make for themselves. There is nothing another person can do to make you happy. Happy is a decision that comes from within. Western culture and beliefs can hurt you if you let it. There is always a quest for something to consume or the perfect relationship to make us feel happy or loved. But these feelings come from inside us. When love is new, it makes brings these feelings to the surface. But new wears off. This doesn't mean that you don't still love. It just means that you are accustomed to it.
You may not notice it until it's gone. So people seek out another person to bring them back up to that emotional high.
This is how people become trapped in a cycle of one night stands, and are never able to settle down with one person without seeking the excitement of that newness brings about. But what I have discovered is that this doesn't make people happy. They are miserable. They have become a slave to the behavior. They rely on it to give them feelings they already have. If you are a happy person, then you will be happy by yourself. All of the feelings and emotions you have already inside you. You don't need drugs to make you feel, or cover up what you feel. The feelings you have are already inside you.
You just need to learn to direct them. You can't always control how you feel. But you can understand why you feel and that it is OK for you to feel this way, and know what to do to bring yourself out of it. You can't always expect for everything to go the way you will it to go.
    Reality is happening.
The truth is there. There are no alternative facts .
There can only be one truth. What makes us fall apart is when we try to build a wall of false conception around ourselves to protect us from the emotions that we consider undesirable.
This may work for some time. But it will eventually come crashing down. And when this happens we are caught up in a tsunami of all that we have tried to hide about ourselves and our true nature. We have taught ourselves to ignore the truth and we have created a reality within a bubble of belief that has nothing to do with truth. The truth always wins. It is there whether we accept it and embrace it or not. You can change your reality.
But first you must accept the truth. You must seek truth in first, then you can see truth outward and understand it better.
    The universe is vast.
And so is our inward universe. We can never know it all. But we can seek out diligently and accept it as it comes. Or better yet, we can accept that it is coming before it arrives. When we seek to have a relationship with the truth, then we can control our perception of the truth thus changing our reality.

    Dear swamis
You live with what you have enabled to exist. It has been going on forever. That's life. What was yesterday is today, and what is today is tomorrow. Live with it.
No single or collective entity is going to change it. You can only experience the life that you have now. Make something of it if you can.

If you recognize yourself as a particular religion, and you have not sought out the truth for yourself, then you have only partially developed yourself.
If you can listen to truth spoken from within any religion or another person's perspective and not be offended, then you are receiving what you need to. When the truth is expressed, it should not matter by what means the person discovered it.

According to the Bhagavad Gita, cows should never be killed for food or slaughtered for sacrifice as the killing of cows constitutes the most heinous of all sins. Also we read, “cows are the support of all the worlds, their milk nourishes terrestrials beings and their ghee offered in sacrifice nourishes the denziens of the celestial realms”

I hear Cristians say that it is not about you it is about God.
But it is about you and your relationship with God. And Jesus said that he is the Truth the way and the life.
No man can go to the father accept through him. So if you are seeking out the truth and the way and the light and you have never heard of Jesus, then you will be able to receive the gifts of God. Even if you don't believe in God, but you believe in truth and developing a relationship with the truth, then you are on the path to developing a relationship with the truth. God is the Truth. You can't separate the two. All of that which we believe to be true, is overcome by that which is actually true.

I have so much respect for Swamy Ji for his teachings but I also have differences. He is force fitting Vedanta onto Abrahamic religions. Abrahamic religions by their “set in stone “ DOGMAS, are religions of EXCLUSIVISM. They are all into TRUTH CLAIMS and not into absolute truth. Let’s understand this first. We can’t move forward until this is addressed. And religious harmony is always is one sided and Swamy ji is preaching to the wrong crowd, the Hindus here. He should have emphasised this in his talks at interfaith religious conference.
The respect between religions should be mutual. If there is mutual respect, the Pope will not be saying that India is a fertile ground for soul harvesting but he said that in INDIA. If there is mutual respect, there will not be any conversion as conversion essentially implies that their religion is better than Hinduism. There will not be any vandalising and destruction of temples by Muslims if there is mutual respect. Sadly, it is only Hindus who go on about religious harmony!!!
Swamy Ji should get out of this “ all religions are same and teach the same” RUBBISH view. It’s a lie. I am sorry to say this. RK have Jesus in their puja room. Let Christians have Rama and Krishna and Shiva along with their Jesus and Mary in their churches and let them worship ALL EQUALLY without sidelining any. Same applies to mosques. ( we don’t worship stone structures say the Muslims but their Karbala is a stone structure) . At least let the Muslims acknowledge that Hinduism is ALSO a valid path to reach God even if they are reluctant to have Hindu Murtis in their mosques. And deserve utmost respect.
The problem here is a tolerant religion on one side and pathological hatred of Abrahamic religions for Hinduism on the other side .
Swamy Ji, talk to Christians and Islamists about religious tolerance. No point in talking to us as tolerance is INBUILT in Hinduism.

Being Orthodox and fundamentalist is also a path to reach the Ultimate. Sri Ramakrishna, when pursued Islam for three days, didn't visit even Maa Bhavatarini who was so dear, very breath to him. So, let them follow their own relugion in the way they follow. Hinduism is not intended to reform them. It doesn't see their faults. It only preaches the Truth, puts the bare reality before us as does Swami Sarvapriyananda ji. One may accept or reject it. Some followers of Abrahmic religions may also like it, but it never put pressure or cajole them to accept or follow it. It has, like sun, nothing to prove. It is more important to seekers of the Truth to understand it and transform their own lives. So, Hindus must first understand Hinduism in letter and spirit and feel, absorb nectre of Truth available abundantly to them and to anybody who seeks.

I think he means that if we stop at the object being different from the observer, and vice versa, that'd be the Sankhyan position - where the purusha (observer) and prakriti (observed) are eternally different. In advaita vedanta, while I'm clearly not the pen I'm looking at, that the pen is also different from 'me' (in the deepest sense) is not true - for the pen appears in the consciousness that I am.

To say that Hindus were fooled is a self defeatist approach. Who can befool the Truth? It is always one and the same. It shines through different garbs of religions. Drop or wave are apparently different, but both are nothing but water. Hinduism or more precisely Eternal Religion (sanatan dharm) emphasizes the essence behind appearance. Essentially all are one. Those who cannot see the Truth, they can quarrel on external differences, shapes and sizes. But why should we, if we know the reality?
