This may be an unpopular opinion, but IMHO the Hurricane is among the best sounding Merlin-powered aircraft when on the ground. Loved that three-point landing, so smooth.
Many thanks for posting this "private" show, you are having far too much fun there Steve, some lovely 3 pointers there, I am amazed at how large the flaps are in this view angle, the engine must have still been very warm after the mornings flight to have failed to start, impressive flames though! Thanks Chris. I'm glad that you enjoyed this. It was nice to see her flying on what was otherwise a fairly quiet afternoon on such a glorious weather day, especially as many of the other vintage aircraft at Duxford are currently in their hangars for various levels of maintenance. Steve.

I've always preferred it over the Spit. Sydney Camm's fighter was the unsung hero of the war.
Not unpopular with me, I love them.
I think the beauty of the Hurricane is only really apparent when clean and polished. 😊

I have just sold a Hurricane wheel to someone at Duxford, being collected this month.
Excellent. Hopefully we will see it turning and flying on the relevant Hurricane this season.👍
